HOLY MOLY!!!! This book….. oh my goodness!!!!
Lost Boy is my first read by M. Robinson and it will not be my last… NOPE!! I am going to go back and read everything else before it. This book totally grabbed my by the scruff of my neck and held me there until I devoured this book. I can not put in to words how much I freaking LOVED this book!!!
Noah, Oh sweet Noah, he broke my poor little heart so many times. I wanted to reach inside this world and hug him (maybe kidnap him and keep him as my own even, haha). His character has been through so, so , so much and I can not blame him for doing the things he has done.
Skyler was so sweet and yet so broken. She also broke my heart into a million little pieces. Gosh, I felt such a connection to both of these characters, they felt so real to me, like they were literally right in front of my eyes instead of written on the page.
The angst in this book just had my heart racing. I cried SO many times!! At times I felt like my heart was ripped right out of my chest, and broken into thousands of tiny pieces. This happened several times during this book, but that ending… OH MY GOD THAT ENDING made my heart sing so much! There is seriously so much I want to tell you about this book, but I am not going to ruin it for you. You seriously need to experience this amazing story for yourself. I highly recommend this book to absolutely everyone!
O.M.Mother-effin.G!! Noah and Skylar’s story has got to be the most epic story I’ve read, so far this year. Their star-crossed level romance spanned over decades and broke my heart multiple times.
Throughout the story my heart was utterly and completely in the sole possession of Lost Boy, Noah Jameson. He had such a big heart and was disappointed at every turn by the people who should have been there for him. My heart ached so much for him. But no matter what, his “Fight or die” motto got him through his darkest moments. Fighting was his release…all the pain, all the hurt, he gave it good when he had no choice.
Skylar Bell was the only person whose mere presence gave him peace and offered the solace he so need from his hard life. But time with Skylar was always finite. His moments of feeling young and free were always few and far between and over the years became even less so.
She had her life outside of their hometown and she did everything to keep him separate from it all. Unbeknownst to Noah, their time together meant the same to her and she wanted so much to preserve every precious second.
I’ll admit, for most of the book I wasn’t much of a Skylar fan. She kept hurting my sweet and sexy Noah and every time she did, she left him with more, rougher edges. It hurt me to see him become so hard on the inside. I just want to cry even thinking back on it. I kept thinking to myself, “I’m here for you, Noah.” But as more gets revealed about Skylar’s other life, I was like, “Ok, I forgive you” or “Alright, I get it…maybe you’re not so bad, after all.”
I don’t know how else to explain my mindset during and after this book. I’m still a bit thrown…but happy at how it all ended. This has to be M Robinson’s best work – bar none!!!
I can’t very well review this book without spoilers even though I try all the time not too!!
5++++++++ BRILLIANT SUNSHINE AND HAPPINESS STARS
I would also like to say that I would like to add quotes to this review but there are toooo many that I loved!
I’m gonna start by saying that this is THE BEST book I’ve read by Monica to date! She is the ultimate queen of angst and she didn’t let me down in this book!
When we start out with Noah as a child, we really get insight as to what he has had to endure as the youngest Jameson son and what it was like to have to be raised by the infamous “Prez”. To say that their dad was a complete and utter bastard is an understatement. We see him in Creeds first book but I don’t think we saw him in the capacity that Noah described him. He is the main reason that Creed, Noah and Diane ended up being the fucked up family that they were in the beginning. When Noah sees Skyler for the first time it was like the bright light in his dark cloud of a life. She is everything he ever wanted.
Skyler sees Noah for him and not where he came from. When they fell they fell hard (him in the beginning more-so than her). She tells him not to fall in love with her but that was like telling a train not to take off on a track.
We embark on years and I mean YEARS of a complete clusterfuck of emotions and life and obstacles changing both for the worst. The pain they they inflicted on each other was heartbreaking both trying so hard to make things work but knowing that things would never be normal for either one of them UNTIL they exercised their demons…and boy did they have demons!
The feelings Noah had about family crushed my soul! He has lost everyone and the one and only person that matters to him is her and the first time she walks out on him…left me breathless
Skyler had so much baggage, so much that we don’t find out until the end of the book, and when we find this out we understand how and why she did the things she did.
I so loved Vlad, I loved him in El Pecador and I loved him even more in this book. I believe he really did love Noah.
Introducing Aiden and Bailey was so exceptional and I can’t wait to read their story. I believe there is so much to tell. I loved the love that he had for Noah.
Monica broached such a sensitive subjects, right now at this point in time of the MeToo movement. Skyler went through hell and never even realized that her body, mind and soul was being manipulated by the ultimate CREEP Keith (I knew he was a snake)! She also brought to light kids having to grow up with important family members dying and changing someone’s life forever, and also the effects drugs and alcohol can totally affect your loved ones. She did all this with such amazing writing and exceptional grace.
I can’t express in words how much I love this author and all the books I have read by her but this book was by far the most angsty, most gut wrenching book I’ve read by her. It was the best and I absolutely loved everything about Noah and Skyler. The Epilogues were fab (although I wish I had gotten a bit more in the final one). If you haven’t read any of her work YOU MUST!!!!
Another fantastic book by M.Robinson! Heart wrenching yet sensual! Noah and Skyler’s journey is filled with tears , joy, passion and heartbreak! Lost Boy will forever be embedded in my heart!! Phenomenal!!
I have been waiting for this book forever and it didn’t disappoint I have always been on Team Noah. That did not change at all. I am happy he finally got his own book.
This story ripped my heart out in the first few chapters it had me in tears. The emotional roller-coaster ride was insane as always with your stories. This is the first one since the Original Good Ol Boys that made my cry. M truly is the queen of Angst she throws it out like no other. Its part of what draws me to her books.
Noah is truly a Lost Boy, he goes through so much pain in his life and this story brings us through it all from childhood to the end of his story. I love this character. He is one of the hottest and most intense character I have read and will always be in my top few of all time.
Skyler is just as lost as Noah is, she goes through hell and back and her story had me so pissed off and wanting to scream and hurt the bad guys in her in life. My heart broke for her but to be completely honest all the tears I shed were for Noah. When I read Lukes name in the story I lost it, I was a mess. Thanks again for an amazing story and I look forward to getting more about Aiden and Bailey!
This story blew me away from the very beginning. I enjoyed experiencing and seeing Skyler and Noah grow from the kids they were into the adults they became.
I loved that they found refuge in each other. That they were both lost but found each other and in each other, a soulmate instead of being the lost souls they were.
The writing was out of this world and just pulled me right in. At parts, it left me breathless while others, so utterly heartbroken.
At twelve years old, Noah James was captivated by the peacefulness he found hearing Skyler singing in the water. Skyler in turn is intrigued by Noah and the strength and sense of security he exudes when she is with him.
Both Noah and Skyler are lost and they find in each other the solace and love they so desperately need. But, sometimes love just isn’t enough.
When Skyler’s career goes in full swing, Noah spirals, will they ever find permanent salvation and love within each other?
This is a standalone, told in dual POV and played out like a wonderful movie inside my head. The scenes and the characters were so vivid and clear. It will compel you and become everything while you read it.
I’m in love with Noah. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. I LOVE a badboy with vulnerabilities. And Noah.. Well Noah, is exactly that. With a filthy, dirty mouth, a hot temper and scars from his past, he was PERFECT.
Skyler. I hated her and loved her in equal measure throughout the book. I couldn’t understand her or her motives. Once everything was revealed however, the lightbulb went off and everything was made so clear. I should have seen this coming, but I didn’t.
Skyler and Noah’s back and forth is heartbreaking at times, and others, heartwarming.
This book burns so good! This is writing! Read a few words, a chapter even. That is all it will take you to become engrossed, consumed, a devout follower even, of M. Robinson and her books.
I received an ARC of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
5 out of 5 stars
I kind of did a happy dance when I found out that Noah Jamison was getting his own story . When we first met him in ROAD TO NOWHERE. He was young and kind of cocky then but he was also a little naïve . He grew up in violence and the unyielding father who only knew how to hit to get his point across . Then one day everything changed when he heard an angel singing in the river . That’s when his life changed and she became his saving grace but also a demon that haunts him . Skye Bell ,a young actress who is attracted to the rough sexy biker. But she has demons of her own that keeps them from getting together . They keep coming together but will their demons keep them apart or will they be able to exercise those demons to be with the each other .
The characters in this are so well written and very complex . There are times you just want to wrap them up and hug them tight . They both are such strong characters . Noah there are moments you want to just hug him and tell him everything will be ok . When he is helping his mother you really see him as a sweet lovable kid . Just trying to help out the one person who loved him. Then we see his other side where he is just full of anger and is taking it out on anyone that gets in his way . He is such a tortured man and we can feel his pain . Now Skye well what can we say about Skye . She seems like she has two personalities . We have the sweet Skye that loves just to be and then we have the Skye that is on for her fans and the media . She is a sweet woman but sometimes she comes off as naïve and you just want to give her a shake . Then when you see her other side you just want to hug her and tell her everything will be ok . Then you really want to slap her for the way she treats Noah. There were times she wasn’t really nice to him . But like I said they both have their demons that will either heal them or destroy them . There are characters in this book you really just want to hate so badly Keith is that character , he has used and abused Skye from the first moment he became her manager . You really just want to stab Keith over and over . Trust me on this one
The author takes us on a very emotional roller coaster ride . There are some scenes in this book that aren’t for the faint of heart . There is alcoholism , rape, drugs and more . But the author will rip out your heart and then repair it . This is a stand alone but if you want to know more about Noah read ROAD TO NOWHERE also. You will get sucked in from the first page . Be prepared for a book that will have you screaming at your kindle over and over . You will be ping ponging between the love they share and the demons that pull them apart. This is book of first love and last love and all the stuff that goes on in between . So if you want to have a book that will rip out your heart over and over and then have it sewn back together . This is the book for you . Add this one to your fall reading list I promise this book will not disappoint you .
This story gutted me. It absolutely tore my heart out. There was beauty in the pain because the love was otherworldly.
They first saw eachother at eleven years old. Short interactions over the years that led to a connection that transcended time. Two souls that always belonged together but lost their way.
I don’t want to give this story away. Noah and Skyler’s story gutted me. So much happened to pull them apart. But their love never waivered, they just had to find their time.
I felt every emotion; sadness, heartache, anger, helplessness, frustration, relief, happiness and undeniable love. Noah may have been lost, but Skyler was every bit as lost as he was. They needed to confess their secrets, accept them and experience loss to ultimately be found. Get ready for an angst-filled ride that will drive you mad but leave you whole.
I have been waiting for Lost Boy since the moment we met him in Ends Here and Road to Nowhere. I am the self-proclaimed President of #TeamNoah. So we need to start from the beginning…
THIS IS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL COVER…ever!! Getting Stephen James for the cover of Lost Boy was a dream come true for me (and I am thinking M. Robinson too).
Next, the story, M. Robinson has written has a story that has spanned the lifetime of both Noah and Skyler, two lost souls that needed to find each other but didn’t find the easiest path. From Skyler’s first encounter with Noah and fro the moment Noah heard Skyler singing, their hearts intertwined along with their souls.
Years and years of suffering the loss of each other, life and fate bring them back to each other, but many obstacles keep these two from fulfilling their destiny. The push and the pull brought me to the brink and back multiple times, this is the reason that I continue to worship at the altar that is Monica Robinson’s twisted and beautiful storytelling abilities.
Lastly, the epilogue – as much as I enjoyed every word written the epilogue made my heart smile.
The “Queen of Angst” has come to play and play hard she did. The story was woven with twists and turns that I never saw coming, one of my favorite traits of this author. It’s never the same story twice, she keeps me on my toes and once she sucked me in – there was no letting go.
This book will definitely be on my top of 2018 reads because Monica Robinson has given us a gift in Noah’s story that will forever own a part of my heart
I highly anticipated reading this book and let me tell you, it was well worth the wait. Lost Boy is amazing and what an emotional ride!!!! The twists, turns and angst was everything. Noah and Skyler’s journey begins when they are young teenagers and I’m glad it was written this way as it sets the tone of how their relationship develops throughout the years. The course of their on and off again relationship goes through a roller coaster of events. At times, it was extremely intense and filled with passion, heartbreak and turmoil. My heart was beating out of my chest and at one point, I thought I was going to lose my freaking mind!!!! Ms. Robinson did an excellent job with Noah’s character development. Yes he’s a hot, tough, and sarcastic alpha asshole but what surprised me the most was the depth of his emotional and romantic side. Skyler just blew me away!!! The poor girl went through so much yet she is one of the most strongest and resilient heroines I’ve ever read. Both of them were so broken for different reasons and their struggles brought me to tears.
Lost Boy is also a highly sexually charged book and packed with great panty-melting scenes. Ms. Robinson never disappoints when it comes to writing dirty and naughty scenes. I was also thrilled to see cameos from a few characters from her past books. Lost Boy is definitely worth reading and will be lingering in my mind and heart for a while.
Hands down, the best book of 2018. Monica did not disappoint. I LOVE all of Monica’s stories, but Lost Boy is my new favorite. The story is well written and you can’t help but fall in love with Noah and Skylar. It would not be a true Monica story without the angst and turmoil the characters have to face. This book had me in tears. It was read in a day because once you start you just can’t put it down. You have to grab yourself a copy, I promise you will not be disappointed. Monica has done it again, written a book that you will not be able to forget.
Monica is known as the Queen of Angst for a reason! Noah Jameson is an enigma, a man like no other and that’s one of the things that keeps drawing Skyler Bell to him. Skyler lives a life she loves and hates but she’s living her dream and doing what she thinks will make her mom proud. Noah and Sky spend years going back and forth, struggling with the blows life keeps throwing their way and doing what they have to do to survive another day. Touching on subjects that are in the news and bringing light to the nasty underbelly of Hollywood made this story real and made my heart break for every young girl and boy who’s been in Skyler Bells shoes…. Phenomenal story and I’m looking forward to Aiden and Bailey’s book! Oh and back off ladies, Noah is my book boyfriend!!!
Wow! I loved Noah and Skyler’s story! It’s about time Noah told his story!
Wow where do I begin without giving away the spoilers everyone hates!!!
M Robinson knocks it out of the ballpark with this book. Noah and Skyler’s story is such an emotional roller coaster. I love a book that can suck me in and make me part of its world but M Robinson has a way of truly making you her character. As I read I felt like I was Skyler. Whatever emotion Skyler was going through I went through as well. The highs the lows the twists and turns! Same with Noah. Knowing their beginnings and why they did what they did just added to the angst of their love story. I loved this book so much that I think I am going to start back over at the beginning. I guess I am a gluten for emotional punishment.
“We were in our own little world, just the two of us. Noah and Skyler. Rebel and Cutie. Lost boy and found girl.”
Well M. Robinson nailed it again with Lost Boy. I could not get enough of Noah and Skyler. I could not put this book down. Once I started it I had to devour every last page! Lost Boy had all the feels you was expecting it too, and SO MUCH MORE! So many times this story ripped my heart out, only to heal it, and proceed to rip it out again! I knew Noah’s story would be heart breaking, but wow the angst game was more than strong this book. Each page was a emotional rollercoaster ride that only took you faster and faster. It page bringing you up, to only drop you right back down again. Creed will always own heart, but man did Noah give him a run for his money. I loved getting to experience certain things from the past in his POV. It really brought new light to many situations I always wanted his view on. I also really liked how different this story was from the authors usual style. Noah and Skyler’s story was definitely unique, but no less beautiful. Their love was haunting, powerful, and all consuming. They brought out both the best and worst of each other. They brought out a fire in each other that only the other person could extinguish. Their chemistry sizzles from the pages of your kindle. No love story is ever easy and theirs was no exception.
“They say everything happens for a reason. And Skyler… Was my reason.”
Skyler was nothing like I thought she would be. I loved the surprise her character brought. She was a total spit fire with a sassy mouth, and even more stubborn attitude. Skyler brought both lightness and darkness. She was the perfect contradiction, and by no means your usual heroine. Half the time you won’t know if you love her or hate her. You heart broke for the little girl, turned women who was haunted by the demons of her past. I could not have imagined a more perfect heroine for Noah.
“His presence. His voice. His love. That felt like home to me. He felt like home to me.”
Noah is definitely a Jameson with ever fiber of his being. After reading Lost Boy I realized how much I never gave him the chance his character deserved. You see ever single facet his character has to offer and he is full of rough, raw edges. Noah can be so intense one minute. Then making your knees completely weak the next with his vulnerability. Haunted by the demons that run his life, Noah demands your attention with every page you turn. He takes command of your heart, leaving you no choice but to fall for him.
“I was trying to save her from herself, but I was f**king destroying myself in the end.”
*5 STARS*
For one if the most intense, soul consuming love stories I have read. I honestly can NOT recommend this book enough. It’s twisted, dark story will haunt your mind long after the pages end.
Wow. Just wow. Get ready for a wild ride full of so many emotions throughout this book. I read this book in a 2 day period but I did take a few breaks to allow myself to process what I read. It is just that good. Full of angst, I wouldn’t expect anything less from M Robinson. M Robinson fans have been waiting on this book for a long time and it was definitely worth the wait. This book is not a cliffy either- Yea!!!!
All of M’s books usually start when the hero/heroine are younger and prior to meeting each other. It is important to the story line to understand what they went through while growing up and what impacted their current character/state of mind. This book is a standalone but you get to meet Noah quite a bit in Road to Nowhere/Ends Here. I think M was brilliant with Noah’s story and how she worked in what we already knew about Noah from the previous books. Skyler and Noah have this connection that can’t be broken and is very intense at times. HOT, HOT, HOT. Enjoy!!!
Are you prepared for your heart and soul to be devastated….your mind to be cosumed with anguish….your emotions to be all over the place? Monica will bring you to your knees with this read and make you whole again in the end!
I first met Noah in Road to Nowhere and always wondered how his life would turn out after everything he has be through and was exposed to at an early age. I really hoped that Noah would get his happily ever after. As you read this book you will read every emotional heartbreaking encounter he went through that made him the man his is in this book. You will want to cry for him, hold and comfort him and just love him. Noah might be a rebel and trouble maker but he has the most kind caring heart and would do anything for the ones he loves. ( and yes I’m talking as if I actually know him because if you read M’s book you will know she make it seems as if her characters are real…and I love that)
Skyler started at a very young age acting and singing and as she got older she skyrocketed to fame. She to also encounter some wicked encounters growing up that shaped her into the person she is today. Skyler has a tough time opening up and showing people who she really is…she only knows how she was taught to be. But with Noah she is different.
Noah and Skyler’s story is very emotional and you can’t help but to want to scream at both of them for what they are putting each other through.
But as always “The Queen of Angst” delivered another phenomenal read. I would love to thank her for bringing Noah and Skyler story to us and to tell her she never ceases to amazing me with the stories that are running through her mind and how she created this masterpiece.
Let me start off by saying this book hands down deserves more than five stars!! It deserves all the stars and is one of my top reads this year! Lost Boy took me on an exhilarating thrill ride that absolutely gutted my emotions yet had me loving every moment, well almost all there was a moment or two when I wanted to throw my Kindle at the nearest wall.
Noah Jameson is AMAZING!!! Skyler Bell is not to be outshined though because she’s like the sun peeking through on the cloudiest of days. Both of these amazing characters burrowed their way into my heart and had my emotions all over the place. I laughed, cried, raged, wanted to knock some sense into them, and ended up on an emotional rollercoaster ride like no other. I felt their joys and their heartbreaks and everything in between. From the very beginning I realized Noah and Skyler’s story was going to put my emotions through the wringer but be so worth it and their story blew all my expectations away!!
I love angst and when a book can tug at my heart and drag out more emotions than I thought possible from me. When my heart literally squeezes and aches as I read like mine did with Lost Boy. I literally found myself glued to my Kindle torn between devouring all the worst I could as quickly as possible or slowing down to savor this sweet slow burn. The author kept me guessing and on the edge of my seat the whole book through. Lost Boy was a truly epic read and I can’t wait to see what phenomenal and gripping book is in store next!
Lost Boy was one of my most anticipated reads. Not surprised in the least that it’s one of my top favorites now. This is the kind of book you just need to go in blind. Wherever you think the story is going to go, it goes in a complete different direction, throwing you on a loop the way M Robinson does. All the twist and turns this book takes you, you’ll definitely enjoy the full ride it takes you on. Noah’s book had it all for me. Angst, intrigue, inner demons, lies, betrayal, love and so much more, making Lost Boy an unputdownable book that will keep you hooked not wanting the story to end. Not only was was this an amazing storyline, but the characters are hard not to fall in love with. I loved both main characters’ strength, their weaknesses, loyalty, and especially the love for their loved ones. You’ll definitely have all the feels Noah and Skyler both bring out and all you can do is hold on to the emotional rollercoaster M Robinson will put you through.
Lost Boy is a spinoff standalone with it’s own HEA where this author shows how she spoils her readers with also an epic pre-epilogue and epilogue. Told in dual POV which I love. If I could give this must read more than 5 stars, i definitely would. Not a book you’ll want to miss out on.
OMG!!! Be still my heart. I’m still trying to heal from all of the emotional trauma from this book. I bow down to the queen once again. I have been waiting for this book to come out and Wow it was worth the wait. This book exceeded all my expectations and more. When I got this book I stopped everything and started it immediately. I stayed up at all hours of the night with these epic characters. Noah and Skylar will have a special place in my heart.
Noah Jameson is known as the younger brother of Creed but this is his story. Ever since Noah was a small boy he never had a childhood. He was the son of a very powerful and ruthless man. All he wanted was to be a kid but when his younger brother was accidentally killed his world fell apart. Noah finds himself by the river one day just to have some peace but instead he found a singing angel. He fell for the beautiful Skylar Bell the first time he sees her. Noah can’t handle the pressure and it makes him go off the deep end but his angel saves him. They are inseparable until Skylar has to move to start her career. When his angel takes his light all he has is darkness. Noah ends up letting off steam in violence. It makes him feel powerful and in control. Years pass and Noah doesn’t even know who he is anymore. He knows he needs help but there is no one for him until fate bring his angel back but she is the not the same girl he knew. His girl has her own demons she needs to face. Will Noah and Skylar be able to face their demons or will they be destroyed by them?
This book is epic. The storyline has it all love, mystery, and a lot of angst. You will fall in love with these characters right from the beginning. Noah is a beautiful man but he has had a hard life. He loves Skylar with all of his heart but he feels like he is no good for her. Skylar is your Hollywood sweetheart. She is brought into the spotlight at a early age. Skylar loves Noah but is love enough? This talented author will have you at the edge of your seat until the end. The ending will leave you breathless. Get ready for a wild ride…
