I’ve sat here trying to find the words to write. The only word that comes to mind to decide this books is phenomenal! Lost Boy is hands down the best yet written by M.Robinson. The twists and the turns she throws at us is something we should expect since she is the Queen is Angst. But she always finds away to surprise us and that we did.
We all feel in love with Noah back when we first meet him in Road To Nowhere and then again in End Here. This time around we got to finally see who Noah Jameson really is. What made him be the way he was other then the few things we knew.
Skylar Bell, she’s exactly who Noah needed in his life. She didn’t fall for his attitude or let him get away with anything. Always calling him on his s**t.
The love story between Noah and Skylar is one of my favorites. Their chemistry was off the charts. They came into each other lives when they both needed someone the most. I loved that no matter how many years went by they never lost there connection. It was like they picked up where they left off.
Lost Boy is definitely on my top read list for the year. Well done M.Robinson. You definitely hit it out of the park with Noah and Skylar.
5 Amazingly Angsty Stars!!
Another amazing read from M. Robinson, and can I just say that this cover is one of the most gorgeous covers I’ve seen, like ever!!
M. Robinson has this ability to make you feel as though you know these characters personally, you feel their pain, anger and holy hell do I ever feel the angst. I swear I live for this woman ripping my heart out and making fall for every single one of her bad boys. And with words like this is why..
“They say everything happens for a reason,
And Skyler…
Was my reason”
Noah and Skyler’s story will take on a wild and emotional roller coaster ride
Two people meant to be, fighting their demons, keeping secrets from one another, when all they need is each other.
M. Robinson never writes a story love story that is easy, she makes them work for it and as a reader these stories literally consume me.
Lost Boy is a stand-alone, but I do recommend reading Road To Nowhere and Ends Here, again you don’t need too.
If you haven’t read her books, I highly recommend them. One click!!
I have been impatiently awaiting the arrival of Noah Jameson on my kindle, and it was worth every second of the wait.
Now, take a look at that cover. I am not usually one to even look much at covers, but this one is hot hot hot. Now, back to business.
For the first time in always reading M. Robinson’s books (and I have read them all!) I did not spend a large portion of the book reading through tears. Yes, it is emotional, yes, as with all M. Robinson books it is angsty. However this time it didn’t rip my heart out repeatedly.
In this instance, I found the book more frustrating, more angry, the character relationship more toxic than in previous books.
My heart did hurt for Noah as we go back to things that happened in Road To Nowhere/Ends Here territory.
Yes, Lost Boy is emotional, yesI shed a tear or two, but I spent most of my time wanting to throw my kindle at Noah and his Skyler.
Their relationship played out the only way it really could have, and I am glad it went the way it did – nothing worse than a relationship that is forced one way when it should go another.
Heartbreaking, emotional, frustrating and raw. Ms Robinson has done it again with Lost Boy.
I can’t wait to see what she brings us next.
I cannot catch my breath!! This book there is so much I can say about this book. It was romantic, dark, emotional, it will break your heart!! I slammed this book shut and threw it so many times. I was sobbing and laughing and falling in love with the character and hating them at the same time. Obviously, I am all over the place. The feelings this book invoke pushed me over the edge and I had to modify what I read after to something much calmer and sweet.
“I wish I would’ve known then that this was only the beginning of our fucked up love story. Maybe then I would’ve been able to change the course of our lives. But they say everything happens for a reason. And Skyler… Was my reason.”
Noah Jamison was born in a screwed-up family and was already a bad boy at the age of eleven. He has your heart from the beginning of the novel, first it breaks for him and will multiple times in this book and then you kind of fall in love with him foul mouth and all. Through all his messed-up decisions and even when you wanted to hate him you still love him because you know exactly why he chose to do what he does.
Skyler Bell is a rising star from the age of six she has been thrown into the movie industry. All she ever wanted to do was act and sing. In all her success Skylar is a lost girl there is so many secrets she is keeping from everyone and so many things she is dealing with on her own. She was led to believe that everything that has happened to her is perfectly normal, but she loses a piece of herself the longer she stays in the industry.
Noah (rebel) and Skyler (Cutie) were made for each other and when they find each other when they are eleven years old you can just tell that they are meant to be. They find each other at their darkest and each one is the light to the other demons, but the obstacles they face will either break them or pull them closer together.
Some books steal pieces of your heart when it read them and stay with you for a long time. I would say this is one of those books. It had my heart from the get-go. You fall in love with both characters separately and together. It will tear you up, make you angry, make you love and make you grieve from them as children and adults.
Disclaimer if you do not like some dark romance, drug use, foul language and implications of rape this book is not for you.
Lost Boy is the newest addition to my favorite books. I was nervous going in because I knew there would be a lot of difficulties for our two main characters–but I loved it, it was better than I had imagined, and now I’m craving more.
“I never wanted him to stop kissing me. Not for a second, a year, a lifetime. Noah’s lips were meant to be on mine. My body was meant to be beneath his. Our hearts were meant to be together. I was his girl. I had always been his girl.”
This book tells the painful love story of Skyler and Noah. It’s one of those tragic stories when the two are soulmates, completely in love with one another–but love doesn’t seem to be enough to make it work. Secrets, fear, anger, and the divide between their worlds keep pushing Noah and Skyler apart. But love always brings them back.
“Nothing else mattered but his arms around me, where we were in our own little world. Just the two of us. Noah and Skyler. Rebel and Cutie. Lost Boy and Found Girl.”
I wasn’t Noah’s biggest fan in the Road to Nowhere duet. However, the book really shows why Noah has such a chip on his shoulder–everyone leaves him. I quickly came to love this sweet-hearted rebel. Skyler is a mysterious character. For a good chunk of the book, she keeps Noah and everyone else at arms length. Still, you can tell she loves her knight in shining armor and just wants to live her dreams and hold onto the boy she loves, her best friend.
“An eternity could have passed down the middle of us and it still wouldn’t have been enough time. To look at her. Hold her. Fucking feel her.”
Lost Boy was totally absorbing. I couldn’t help but get addicted to Skyler and Noah’s difficult love. The book covers a lot of time. It starts when they meet at 11 and wraps up as they are nearing 30. I absolutely adored the epilogue and couldn’t have asked for it any better.
The writing was great, funny, poignant, and easy-to-read. I listened to this book on audio. The male narrator did a fantastic job playing Noah! The female narrator is how I imagine Skyler would talk. The narration switches off throughout with the male narrator voicing all male parts and vice versa.
I’ve read this book back in 2018 and it was one of the reads that stayed in the back of my mind.
Noah comes from the wrong side of the tracks and Skyler couldn’t be more different from him but they were always connected and sometimes the opposites just attract.
I really liked these characters and their story. Monica always had some good twists and I’ll for sure read more of her books in the future.
This unbelievable action packed, tissue needing page turner. Is the most amazing thing I’ve heard in a while. Not to mention to hot stuff on the cover. I love me some Sons of anarchy and when i listened to the that’s all my brain kept comparing it to. Now, right now if you don’t like hear the word c**k, c**t, p**sy then this definitely isn’t the book for you.
.
I do have to say there are trigger warnings such as abuse, child abuse, sexual abuse, drug abuse.
.
Overall i loved this book and i wished there were more like it.
.
Definitely recommend to anyone that asked for sure.
Noah and Skyler’s story provoked so many different emotions. They met in their teenager years and life’s path took them in opposite directions however they always gravitated back to each other.
Their story is brutally dark, suspenseful but an unstoppable read. I couldn’t stop turning the pages and wanting to know the next part of their journey. Two very beautiful but tortured souls who had their own secrets and demons to battle. At times I welled up to then laugh at their banter and the sassiness from Skyler.
This is my first book written by this author. I hadn’t even realised there were other books in this series prior to Lost Boy. I feel gutted and elated at the same time (if possible). Gutted because I’ve had this book on my kindle since 2018 and missed out on such a fantastic page turning book but elated because I finally got there and read this beauty!!
Riveting, raw, gritty, heartbreaking and emotional! I was pulled into this story from page one, it took a hold of my heart, made me cry, get frustrated at times, and it kept me on the edge of my seat till the end. WOW!!! There is no author like M. Robinson, her story telling is amazingly captivating. I do not think I have ever read anything like what Ms. Robinson produces. Noah and Skyler have a tough and tumultuous journey that leaves you breathless. Can’t wait to read what comes next.
Must read!
LOST BOY
oh my goodness this book was one hell of a journey, i was looking forward to Noah’s story after reading about him in the previous two books about Creed but i was not expecting everything that happened to him.
This book basically starts from the start of his young life and how he meets skyler who we know nothing about and i kind of expected Noah to be the one that goes through hell and back but Skyler she has her own demons and goes through things that i never saw coming. I was guessing through the whole book and sort of had an idea but reading it was a different story.
I really felt for Noah he was just trying to be a good boy but to fight his demons made him into a lost bad boy who was just trying to survive and by the end i absolutely loved him.
Skyler goodness she tested my patients and by the end of the book you fell in love with her just as hard as you loved Noah this story spans over so many years and when i would start a chapter and Noah and Skyler hadn’t seen each other for years it scared me lol i just wasn’t sure what to expect.
I really really loved this story took me a while to get into it but I’m mood reader and i think i just needed to wait until i was in the right mood quarter of the way through and i didn’t want to stop, i was always thinking about these two and what would happen next and i just lived it.
Mathis book had the angst the heartbreak and amazing story and was amazingly written. I loved it and this box set is one that everyone needs to read.
Captivating!! For books like this I wish there was 6 stars. Lost boy was well written, the character feeling pouring off the pages, and I couldn’t stop reading after the first page. Wow!!!
Damnnnnnn this book had me shook!! I have been waiting for Noah for so long. He deserved to finally get his HEA, but I had no idea what I was in for! Noah Jameson is truly a lost boy and I want to find him and love him and hold him and never let him go! He totally broke my heart. Skyler is a lost girl too, with so many secrets. There were times I definitely hated her for hurting my sweet, sweet Noah, but Skyler is broken too and so I can’t really blame her. I do love then together. Their chemistry and connection is so beautiful!
This book is technically a standalone, but I recommend reading the first two books first. Lost Boy doesn’t really have any spoilers for them, but you’re gonna want the facts before you read this one. Trust me!
Well, M.Robinson certainly kept me on the edge yet again with another read full of angst and anticipation.
Praise for the cover I think my eyes bugged out of my head when I first saw it and I instantly wanted to read it.
I absolutely loved The Road to nowhere which was Creed and Mia’s story and once again Lost boy takes you on a similar journey from childhood friends to adulthood and the angst in between.
Lost boy is a journey, a journey from the moment Noah saw Skyler singing in the river while riding past on his bike and the instant connection, the love at first sight moment to years later and the troubled times in-between. I was a wreck reliving parts of the story I had already read in Creed’s book and then relived it all over again through the eyes of Noah. A truly emotional book at times.
This is a story about two people who loved one another but were both on different paths in life, wanting to be together but life and circumstances made it impossible, a love story that spans over years.
I loved it, M.Robinson is my go-to author for angst and plots with substance. I loved the grit and the feeling of instant connection with the characters. Noah instantly had my heart.
THERE’S A BUT THOUGH AND THIS WOULD ONLY MAKE SENSE IF YOU HAVE READ THE PREVIOUS BOOK ROAD TO NOWHERE (CREEDS STORY).
Noah loved Skyler, he loved her so much, there love grew with every visit Skyler made to her childhood home in-between productions. When she hit the big time with her acting and singing time and time again he let her go to do her thing while living in his own nightmares at home, Noah hurt each time Skyler left to do her job and he missed her but life went on and I forgot at times that this was the same Noah from previous books who loved Creed’s Mia, the same Noah that loved his brothers girl? Noah had said to Creed in the previous book that he loved her, he had a baby with her and I felt in this book there was no Closure on that.
Mia was only mentioned twice in this book and that was in connection to Creed getting married and a sentence at the end where she attended a gathering as Creeds wife. I feel a bit lost, to be honest, why did he say he loved Mia when in this book he was deeply in love with Skyler, how did he get over her, why didn’t he tell Skyler about her, how is their relationship now, does Skyler get on with her?????. OMG, so many unanswered questions. I think this should have been two books like Creed’s, the end I thought was rushed too, I wanted more of the happy from this journey of sad times.
Despite my last comments, this is truly an angsty and an on the edge of your seat kind of read, a whole whirlwind, and rollercoaster of emotions.
Can be read as a standalone. Told in first person dual pov’s. Available in KU
Woah
How do I even start to describe this book or my reaction to it .
It’s …. mind boggingly, soul destroyingly, heart wrenching, gut wrenchingly f*d up
But it had me hooked and addicted from start to finish .
This author does angsty , broken love stories brilliantly . I mean it . Brilliant !
Two very broken people fighting to survive their awful hand in life , trying to push through and trying to find each other but mistakes and circumstances beyond their control keep getting in the way .
Just … its worth the read !
This is a heart wrenching story from beginning almost to the end. I really *felt* for these two MC’s a couple different times. Sometimes things were going the characters way but it never lasted. Each MC had a tragedy that shaped their lives. As the years roll by and the MC’s are thrown together time and again. I Bit one thing or another pulls them apart. I am not sure if they can and should be able to stay together.
Some of these secondary characters made me angry, some just saddened me, a couple made me want to cry.
This is a first time author for me. At the beginning I felt like I was reading a story about 25 year olds not pre teens. I thought and felt that the stuff that young Noah did and said was a bit over the top for his age of 11-13. I could be wrong since I know he grew up in the MC and I can’t fathom what he has seen. His mother seemed to try to ground the boys so I would have hoped some of her softness would have rubbed off on them. I see Skylar has same problem. She is not shocked or surprised at what comes out of his mouth. I just think at that age sex etc is the furthest thing from their minds. Once adulthood is reached when comments are made they sound just perfect for the character and his/her portrayal.
I listened to this on audio. The narrators did a good job. There were a few things I wish would have been done differently. When Noah was a pre-teen boy his voice sounded the same gruff tone as he did when he was an adult. Maybe a younger boys voice would have been good. My other issue was the sound quality. When Noah talked normally I could hardly hear him so I turned it up. Then when he got mad and yelled…it was way too loud in my ear. So that was kind of a hassle.
Otherwise these narrartors did a good job and both of their voices were easy and pleasant to listen to.
This book wrecked me in the best possible way, I don’t think I have ever cried so much while reading a book. Monica had me holding back tears within the first few chapters.
This book is filled with angst and just everything you love in a book by her. I highly recommend this read to anyone that wants their heart repeatedly ripped out and then put back.
Noah and Skylar, as always M Robinson demands my emotions to twist and turn, this story is no different yet more painfully beautiful. The characters story will have you reading page by page throughout their love story, where life and family are important and loss is part of life. The audiobook is a long one, but the narration by Brian Callanan and Addison Barnes was refreshing to me, I certainly enjoyed both and think they did an amazing job, Brian has an amazing voice.
I absolutely loved this audible book and Brian Callanan did an amazing job narrating and bringing the story to life. This book is seriously an intense, heartbreaking, angst filled, emotional, beautifully written book. I loved every word but, I loved the chemistry and respect between Noah and Skyler the most.
Wow! This book is worth so much more than 5 stars! Noah and Skylar’s story is so beautiful and raw. This story takes place over several years and will have your head spinning. There are so many twist throughout the story by the end you’ll just be blown away.
The audio was AMAZING! The beginning of this book tore my heart in two and the audio just made it that much more intense. The feelings and love that are poured through the words will give you all the feels.
This book will leave you speechless. It will pull you in, it will break your heart but in the end Ms. Robinson is sure to put it back together. A book filled with truly raw emotion from page one!
This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.
