Enjoyed this book a lot. Kept me interested til the last page.
You won’t find many books that include the dog’s point of view. This one does. From my understanding of dogs, it seems logical.
Kept me up reading to the end.
The twists and turns in this novel will keep you reading until you are done! Shadow, the young service dog stole the show for me. His thoughts while trying to befriend then save his young autistic person will grip your heart. What mothers will do to try and help their autistic children is heartbreaking. The people who are promising help heartless and greedy!! They will do anything to keep their cure going under the radar and the money flowing.
The ending will astonish you. I definitely want to read the other books in this series.
An amazing and thrilling book about an autistic little boy named Steven. The story begins with a blizzard. People are basically snowed in. Steven has a babysitter that stays with Steven when his mother conducts her exercise classes. His Aunt has been training a nine month old puppy to stay close to Steven and to protect him. During this blizzard the babysitter falls asleep. Mom has gone to her exercise class to leave a note that class is canceled due to the weather. When mom gets home she can’t find Steven or the dog. Aunt September comes to help lead a search for them. Can they find them in time to keep them from freezing to death!?!? Or are there more secrets that have been be unlocked before this story can come to a conclusion?? Will good win or will evil rule the day?
Captivating read
You really fall in love with April and her dog. Your on edge if all is going to go well.
This is a murder mystery dog training plot centered around a “cure” for autistic children. It is the first in a series and hints at romance in the next book. September Day is the leading character in the story. She is haunted by her past and has moved back home to start over. She finds herself in the middle of a string of murders and a scam preying on parents with autistic children. The ending will surprise you. Some light profanity.
I could not put this book down. It is gritty and moving, I have known a few people who had autistic children and or disabled children. They have the same hopes for the future as those of us who children are “normal”.
I loved this book. It is a page turner, you can’t wait to see what is going to happen next. And I love hearing part of the story from the dog’s point of view. Amy Shojai really nails it!
I;m looking forward to book 4!
5 stars If you love dogs and suspense novels are your thing this is the perfect series.
loved it
Loved having the dogs perspective too
I thoroughly enjoyed this writers style. Would read more novels by her.
This is the first of 3 in the series I have read, and all 3 were great reads. There are some interesting insights on the abilities and characteristics of dog companions and helpers, and if you love dogs you will love reading these action thrillers. Not too violent or scary, the action moves at a good pace and the stories all end well.
Very good.
Loved the dog! Could do without some of the language.
All in this series are good reads.
Well written, great characterization, with a very different and unexpected story line.
