Still reading a very slow story
Not much. Plot and dialogue were twisted and unrealistic, I finally gave up. I don’t recommend it!
I just finished reading it, and if there were more stars listed, I would add several more.
Waste of time
This has a female lead that I REALLY LIKED – hard to find anymore. Authors seem to think all lead females have to be SO FLAWED YOU HATE THEM BECAUSE OF NO HUMAN QUALITY TO THEM AT ALL – or so dull you just can not relate or just NOTHING. This female felt like a real person and you could understand her and feel for her.
I liked the point of view of the dog. At first I was not sure I would like that thrown in, but in this authors way of writing, it is an amazing feature of the book.
SPOILER ALERTS….
I would have loved it and given 5 stars, but skirting issues that you continually push into the readers mind is just hard to accept. There are so many references to her dead husband and dead dog and why she is so scared and aloof with people, BUT IT NEVER GOES ANYWHERE PAST AN OBLIGATORY MENTION. I found that to be hard to accept in the book. You read through waiting for that explanation and information and get so little to feed the idea that was thrown out there to us.
AND you do not get enough story regarding her family and why they would just be so kind of cruel if you will to her.
and SO MANY PEOPLE die…a lot of people and some I just felt did not have to die. I mean I am 65 and in my 65 years I have never had anyone I care for/know die but this woman has a bunch of people die in a couple days…a little out there.
NOW THAT SAID…this had an totally unique story line. It kept me turning pages, WANTING…NO NEEDING to read to see what was going to happen. I like that in a book. Keep them pages turning because that means my mind is so absorbed in the story line I can not put it down.
AND I DID NOT…read it everywhere…at bingo between daubing numbers, waiting for the doctor, etc…
GOOD BOOK, PLEASE TAKE THE TIME AND TRY THE 1ST ONE. You will get hooked.
Too weird. Just couldn’t get into it and even skipping ahead didn’t find anything better ahead. So I quit.
Characters too damaged and dour leaving me unable to find any sympathy for any of them. No more September Day for me.
So boring I stopped after a few pages.
Not my cup of tea. Couldn’t get past the first chapter.
Meh, only so, so.
