OMG! I loved Losing Laurel!
If you love hockey and second chance romance books then you will fall in love with Gage and Laurel’s story! Kat Mizera has placed Laurel, a woman, into a job position that no woman has ever held and it added a fantastic twist to the story.
Laurel is strong, independent and successful on and off the rink but she has never moved on from the love of her life, Gage. He never really understood what happened so many years ago to break them up, but he has always wanted her back. They have always stayed in touch even after mistakes were made and their marriage ended.
Now, they have another chance but until all the secrets of the past are revealed they will not be able to move on.
This second chance romance was very moving. Gage and Laurel’s story was filled with heartache, emotion, drama, love and passion. Splashes of humor are added here and there throughout. It was very easy to connect with and feel for this couple. This couple had plenty of issues that needed to be worked through and I loved seeing them succeed at it. A very enjoyable read.
What if becomes maybe this time. Gage and Laurel had their happily ever after interrupted. What began with so much promise, ended in heartache. The history between these two characters has ghosted through each and every book in the Alaska Blizzard series. Now it’s time for them to have their chance. Bittersweet becomes almost forever and just maybe a second chance. This couple has intrigue me from the moment they appeared on Mizera broad canvas of characters. Their love story proved well worth waiting for.
A heart felt second chance romance! Ashley @ Carolina Chic’s Read
Kat has me wanting more from her latest hockey series I cannot get enough of the Alaska Blizzard Series! Gage the hot billionaire owner of the Blizzard has his work cut out for him when he has to fire his coaching staff with 11 games left of the season. Laurel the women’s Olympic Hockey Teams Champion winning coach and ex-wife has a lot of hurt she is dealing with. Can Laurel trust Gage again? Will the secrets that were held between these two be able to be overcome? This book is one emotional roller coaster that draws you in from page one! This is one hot and sexy book! I cannot wait for another book from this series!
Second Chance romance are my favorite and Losing Laurel is fantastic! I loved it! It was an emotional read full of drama, passion, secrets and hot hockey players! I love getting Gage and Laurels story! Gage is the owner of the Alaska Blizzards professional hockey team and he hires his ex wife to coach his team for the rest of the season. Even though they had problems when they were married they were willing to give their relationship another try. Will the second time be a success or will secrets from the past destroy them? I love the Alaska Blizzards series and Losing Laurel is a fantastic addition to this series!
Losing Laurel is the 4th book in the Alaska Blizzard series but it can stand all on it’s own.
Gage is the owner of the Alaska Blizzard, having inherited the team from his uncle. Having had to fire his coaching staff during the season, he turns to one of the best hockey coaches he knows, his ex-wife Laurel. She is definitely interested in the opportunity to coach in the NHL, but is she ready for what it means in the league and more importantly for her and Gage.
Gage and Laurel’s story took me through all of the emotions one can feel. Not only did they have to deal with the present but they also had to deal with their past and what tore them apart.
As always, it was great to see the Blizzards as well as the Sidewinders show up in the book.
This is book 4 of the Alaska Blizzard series and it features team owner Gage and his ex wife Laurel.
This is a wonderful story about second chances and love. In this story we find out what made Gage and Laurel break up in the first place and if they can make it this time around or will they make the same mistakes. Losing each other a second time will be devastating.
And I have to say I loved laurel’s coaching techniques. they made me laugh while reading
I fell in love with this book. Second chance romances are my favorite, add to that some hot hockey players (even though Gage doesn’t play) and this book definitely shot on goal. I have always been interested in hearing Gage’s story so I was happy to get to read about him and Laurel. This was an all around fascinating book and it was a pleasure to read. I kinda hope that Matt gets his story told some day so he can redeem himself.
I received a review copy of the book before release for an honest review.
This story is about Gage who owns a Hockey Team in Alaska. He is older, a billionaire and divorced, and former military. It is part of a series about the Hockey Team, the Alaskan Blizzards but it only features those characters from other books, so it easily stands alone.
Gage has been a favorite character throughout the series and he is in love with his ex wife. Lauren, is a former hockey player and coach for the Women’s Olympic Team. Gage brings her to Alaska to help him out with his team. The why, is something I don’t want to spoil as it is a big part of the storyline.
I want to say first that this book was absolutely awesome. I truly loved it. It kept me on the edge of my seat as I watched whether they would or wouldn’t make the playoffs and what would happen with Gage and Lauren. Those two are soul mates and meant to be but at times Gage is an idiot because he makes the same errors as he made some 15 years before. Despite that I loved this story SO much. It is well written and extremely heart felt and I absolutely loved every second of this story.
Gage and Lauren were college sweethearts and have known each other for 15 years. They both love each other but Gage went into the military and it caused all kinds of issues for Lauren, as soon as he got out she asked for a divorce and though they are friendly and share friends they are no longer married.
Gage brings Lauren to Alaska and wants a 2nd chance with her. But he is still keeping secrets from her and she is keeping secrets from him, so they really need to learn to trust each other.
I LOVED Lauren. SO MUCH!! I loved Gage too at the start of this book. I would say he was a favorite character of mine before this story however he was a total idiot. Years later he is still making the same stupid mistakes and as the book progressed I felt he betrayed Lauren over and over again.
I really wanted her to punish him a lot more than she did. And I don’t think I could have forgiven him. In the back drop of the story we get to see the Blizzards fight to become a cohesive team. I loved this book and Lauren’s story but Gage was a gigantic jerk until he finally gets a clue.
Kat Mizera prevails with LOSING LAUREL, the fourth book in the Alaska Blizzard series. Professional hockey team owner Gage Caldwell hires his ex-wife, Laurel Saunders, as an interim hockey coach for the team after firing his staff. This contemporary sports romance is suitable for adult audiences.
I enjoyed LOSING LAUREL. The characters have a lot of depth. Gage is an impressive businessman. He has many unexpected layers. He is protective, smart, and generous. Laurel is an admiral heroin. She has inspiring hockey credentials. It is understandable why their relationship did work the first time around. They had many obstacles. I like that the couple got a second chance. They are each other’s soul mate and meant to be together.
The plot was clever and unforeseen. I enjoyed the CIA aspect of the story. I appreciated that Gage is open-minded and gave a woman the opportunity to coach an NHL team. I love that Laurel helped to fix the disconnect on the team that has been talked about since book one. LOSING LAUREL was a wonderful addition to the Alaska Blizzard series. Followers of the series will not be disappointed. I recommend this book to lovers of sports romances and/or spy romance novels. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
Another great addition to the Blizzard’s Series!! Losing Laurel is the best of second chance romance stories. When the owner of the Blizzard hires his ex-wife to coach his team to the Stanley Cup Finals, he realizes that he should have never let her walk away the first time. He will do everything in his power to never let her walk away again.
Such amazing display of emotions and hurdles to get this couple from once a year to always and forever. Loved this story!

I absolutely loved this second chance Romance for Gage and Laurel. It flowed and I couldn’t put it down.
The emotional tug of this story pulled me right into the book like I was there with the characters. I was gutted, I laughed, I may have had to take a cold shower, but this book was just that good!
I definitely recommend this HEA.
4 1/2 STARS!
Quick paced, tempting and raw! With the next book in the Alaska Blizzard series, Kat Mizera brings us the beauty of a reunion story. The characters are very easy to like, the back story is intriguing and the sports drama is a lot of fun to read. Really enjoyed!
As the wealthy owner of a professional hockey team, Gage Caldwell has the perks of a prominent life at his fingertips, but there’s constantly something missing … and that something is the woman he never stopped loving, his ex-wife.
Laurel Saunders might not have wound up the places she thought she’d be at this point in her life, but thanks to the unwanted generosity of her ex-husband she finds that she can pick and choose her coaching positions in order to take on the projects she most wants. When Gage shocks her with an offer she can’t refuse, she finds herself co-existing with the man who never left her heart. A part of her hates him and the fallout from the lies that he told, but another part of her could never stop loving him.
Gage never stopped loving Laurel and never really understood what went wrong in their relationship. Anytime they are near each other the passion is irresistible for them both. When they saw each other again as one of the players on the hockey team he owns went to propose to a player on the women’s hockey team (which Laurel was coaching) they fell into each others arms again but just another once off or so Laurel continued to tell herself.
After discovering that his coaching team were dealing drugs he fired them all and called Laurel for help, she had coached the women’s team to Olympic gold after all so she was more than qualified to coach at top level. Getting to spend time with her was nothing to do with it honestly. Winning someone back when you don’t know how you lost them in the first place could prove difficult but Gage needed to try, him and Laurel were made for each other and they both knew it no matter how much she tried to fight it.
Laurel can’t turn down the opportunity of a life time but can she risk her heart again.
Amazing couple, made for each other.
The Blizzards are quickly becoming another must read series for me. Kat never seems to disappoint
I loved seeing Gage finally get together with Laurel, the love of his life. Gage has been an interesting character in the Alaska Blizzard series, but he was due his own book. Laurel has been on the sidelines, so this was a chance to finally get to know her.
I am always a sucker for second chance romances and this book definitely had me believing in second chances and happily ever afters. Losing Laurel is yet another skillfully written novel by Kat Mizera. It is the fourth book in the Alaska Blizzards series, the perfect addition to an already great series.
Gage and Laurel were college sweethearts, they fell in love hard and fast. They got married and divorced just as fast, but that didn’t mean they didn’t still love each other. Gage always got what he wanted and needed, but he was always chasing after more, a bit of an adrenaline junkie with a hero complex. In Gages’ eyes, he didn’t do anything to warrant a divorce, but he gave it to Laurel nonetheless. But when an opportunity arises for Gage to have Laurel working in close proximity, he jumps at the possibility of winning her back. He was not going to let go this time, Gage wanted his forever and he wanted it with Laurel.
Laurel lived a happy life, but not the best life. She lived with the burden of her past and a broken heart. She had divorced the love of her life, but she never stopped loving him. No matter how much time had passed, every single time she saw Gage she jumped into his arms even if it was just for one night. When Gage asks her to coach the Alaska Blizzards, she is beyond herself. It is the opportunity of a lifetime. She takes the job with one condition, they keep their relationship strictly professional. Except Gage had other plans, and Laurel was a goner when it came to him.
This book like all of K. Mizera’s books has a little bit of everything. It is romantic, exciting, passionate, sensual, and so much more. I was once again happy to get a glimpse into characters from previous books, it is one of my favorite things about this author’s writing. K. Mizera has created a world that I am more than happy to get lost in, time and time again. Can’t wait until the next book in the series!
4 fantastic stars!
I enjoyed finally knowing Lauren & Gage’s story. So glad to know their history & excited about their future! Also very happy to have so many characters from previous Blizzard & Sidewinder books make appearances.
I really enjoyed Gage and Laurels story. College sweethearts who married young, life dealt then situations that made the young couple crumble. Years later, Gage needs a favor, and also a way to get Laurel back in his life. But neither is sure that they can get past their past insecurities and hurt to be together, no matter how much each of them want it.
Perfect stay up all night read and Gage is going to give you the Hots! Elizabeth @ Carolina Chic’s Read
Gage & Laurel have their second chance at forever! I have wanted this sexy man’s story since starting this series and let me say it was worth the wait! More Gage Please! The cover is perfect for this story too! and 5 Stars of Chemistry!
I love the Alaskan Blizzard series just as much, if not more than Sidewinders. I loved reading Laurel and Gages story and the dynamic they have, even after all they have been through! It was exciting to see the team through management eyes! Another great read.
