What could be more innocent than a country flea market? When service dog trainer Marcia Banks takes up temporary residence with her best friend in Williston, Florida, her goals are simple: spoil her toddler godchildren and train her newest dog’s veteran owner, a vendor at a local flea market.Ha, the universe has other plans. When the owner of the flea market is found dead and her client is a prime … her client is a prime suspect, she discovers that nothing is as it seems—from the flea market owner himself, to the ornate dragonhead cane he gave to her client, to the beautiful but not very bright young woman whom her client has a crush on.
The only true innocent in the bunch seems to be her guileless client. But when he shares a confidence that puts her in a double bind with local law enforcement, she’s not sure she can even trust him.
Despite her promises to her new husband, the only way out of her no-win dilemma seems to be to find the real killer. The flea market, however, is hiding more secrets, and at least one of them could be deadly.

Love that the main character trains dogs to help disable people. This one is a veteran – unfortunately not a sister veteran though. I applaud all my sister and brother veterans.
Love the flea market location too.
This story has so many twists and turns that I got a bit dizzy trying to keep it all straight. Think you have and along comes another possibility.
Reads very easily and can be read by itself. Each one I that I have read in this series has been a standalone, and hardly notice previous references.
This is my honest and freely given review. I did receive an ARC Book.
My apologies for lateness of this review.
Marcia Banks and her former service dog Buddy make an interesting duo when it comes to solving murders. She’s cares deeply for her Veteran clients and wants to help them lead a safer more productive life with their highly trained dogs. Her weakness is that she can’t stop trying to help people. When Derek Bradshaw is a suspect in the murder of his close friend, Marcia jumps into help him. She’s a strong woman with a keen eye who can follow clues and get answers. She’s so passionate and determined. I liked her and her deep commitment. This case isn’t easy. Nothing is as it seems. The story is filled with unexpected twists, but I was sure that Marcia with Buddy would find the culprit. Her new husband worries about her just as Marcia cares for him. I liked their bond. This is a complex story with plenty of action and suspense. I enjoyed Lord of the Fleas. I can’t wait to see what happens next.
I received a copy of this book which I voluntarily read and reviewed. My comments are my honest opinion.
This is the first book that I have read by Kassandra Lamb and I am also not usually a reader of mysteries, but I must say that I really enjoyed reading this book. I do like books that have animals in them which this one has service dogs for vets in it. This book can stand alone, but there were references to previous events however they were not enough to detract from this story. Marcia is a trainer for service dogs and her newest trainee is for a disabled veteran who runs a booth at a flea market. While she is there to help train the vet and the dog to interact with each other, the owner of the flea market is murdered. At first, Marcia’s client is thought to have committed the crime as the weapon came from his booth and he is taken in for questioning. Then as more clues and evidence surfaces, another booth owner is arrested for the crime. Marcia and Derek keep questioning and looking much to the dislike of her husband and of the sheriff of the investigating county. This book was not too graphic and was filled with a lot of wit and banter which made it a more enjoyable read.
You will have to read the book in order to find out who committed the crimes and how much trouble Marcia and Derek get into by “poking” around.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Marcia and Buddy are just about done with their training. Her new client is a vendor at the local flea market. But things aren’t as they seem in this friendly little town of Williston, Florida. Especially when the owner of the flea market is found dead. So grab your favorite beverage, get in your comfy reading position, and enjoy this great story.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Set aside a day for this family-friendly November tale set in and around Williston, Florida. Marcia Banks-Haines has Fred just about ready to turn over to Dereck Bradshaw as soon as he finishes his training. I read an ARC and this voluntary review is my own opinion.
A riveting, fast-paced cozy mystery! Marcia travels to a neighboring county to work with a veteran and his new service dog. She soon finds herself involved in a murder investigation. For her husband’s sake, she tries to distance herself, but clues keep finding their way to her. The writing is powerful and skillful. The plot is tight and multi-layered, and the characters are well developed and believable. It was an enjoyable read and I’m looking forward to future installments. I received this book free and chose to make a voluntary, unbiased review.
