I enjoyed this story, the plotline was well thought out and the characters were well-drawn and interesting. Lady Della dislikes all Vikings due to something which happened in her past. Alas her father has chosen her husband for her and won’t take no for answer. Unhappy about his choice she turns the tables on her soon to be husband Lord Blackwell but he, in turn, turns the tables back on her.
This was an engaging and humorous story with amazing characters with interesting personalities. These characters have entertaining interactions that are believable.. This story reminds me why I like this Author.

I have read many books by Michelle M. Pillow but always paranormal romances. This is the first historical novel and I have to admit I really enjoyed it. The sassy Saxon heroine and the fiery Viking hero make a truly fantastic pair. One moment they are in accord and the sparks of passion fly the next they are sparring and sparks of a different kind fly. How they overcome all obstacles makes a fascinating and engrossing story.

I will say that I normally do not read historical romance because I just cannot get pulled into the story. There has always been a barrier with this type and me. This author has made me genuinely enjoy her historical romance book! This is a medieval historical viking romance with an arranged marriage. There were so many twists and turns, I was enraptured in the story. I did not want to stop reading! I cannot wait to read more by this author!

3.5 stars
Nothing is as it seems when given in marriage to your enemy! Offered to Lord Brant, Lady Della’s hatred of Vikings is shown very clearly. Arguments aside, the tension of culture, attitude and even courtship are couched in terms that leave no confusion. But passion has a way of undermining even the most virulent of tongues. Can they learn to trust each other before matters become too heated? Can misunderstandings be overturned by acknowledging pride is a culprit?
This was at times a little slow but stick with it, a great read
The plot and the characters were as always very well written and it was impossible not to be drawn right into the story once it picked up, a little slow at first but the interaction between the characters made this a most enjoyable read.
Brant has been brought into the kingdom to marry his strong and very determined daughter Della who has a reputation as being an Ice Queen and yet those that have come to know her over the years, she singlehandedly minded the castle and lands of the kingdom whilst her father was off fighting wars.
She knows the name of every person that lives in the castle or on the farms and she works alongside the servants even though she is a Lady, during the night hours she cleans the castle from top to bottom and many believe there is a spirit of the previous owner that likes things clean and orderly.
The marriage between Brant and Della is not the easiest start and with the death of her father this adds an additional strain and yet there is an attraction between them and when Della allows it, she feels the attraction and want of a woman and Brant wants nothing more than to love her and care for his tiny, determined wife.
This is one of those books that simply draws you in and the more you read the more involved you become; I recommend this as a great read.

A class of 2 cultures, treachery, murder and deceit and 2 lonely souls forced to find each other.
This is a really wonderful book of two cultures, Viking and English, who are enemies but serve a common king. It is truly well written and believeable. Can the lady of ice and the man of fire find true love? Read this delightful book and it just might happen.
Now I like the premise of this story, two people with conflicting personalities come around to each and find love, but I have to be honest the hot & cold interactions was a bit much. One minute Della and Brant are getting along swimmingly then their at each others throat which left me wondering if they mistaken lust for love. In all it was a decent read with okay characters.
Lord of Fire, Lady of Ice is a Medieval Historical Romance by Michelle M. Pillow.
This is my first historical book so I honestly did not know what to expect at first. I also never read anything about the Vikings so I had to pre research pictures and background so that I could prepare myself.
This was about an arranged married between Della and Brant Blackwell, a Viking Knight. This union was forge to merge properties and to mix bloods to secure the future. Their relationship started with a misunderstanding that became bigger and bigger due to their pride and inability to communicate with each other about how they truly feel.
Brant is well-respected and is a capable leader. His fiery nature is evident in all that he does. Della has her heart locked up and thus earning the nickname of being cold.
There were a lot of misunderstanding between these two, but there was also a lot of steamy scenes. This was a very historical romance so the way they talked was different so I did have a harder time realizing what they were saying.
This was very different from what I am used to by Michelle, but I did enjoy it. I don’t shy away from what I am used to. I can’t wait to read more of Michelle’s work!

When Della, a not so young innocent who has had a somewhat difficult life, is forced to marry Brant, a Viking war hero with a sensitive streak he tries to hide, these opposites refuse to attract. This read was so emotional because I liked the characters so much. Drawn into their world I was often brought to tears for this stubborn couple, but there was also merriment and sweet sexy times and I just couldn’t quit reading till their hard fought HEA.
