I love a good historical romance. They’re actually my favorite to read. A time of naivety, innovation, & romance. When the term “Making love” actually meant a man was “courting you” “wooing you”. And a “lover” was just another term of endearment towards the person of opposite sex that was either trying to vie or your hand or simply put a boyfriend/girlfriend that was steady & gave you attention & admiration. The simpler times where fairytale was spun off real tales. Who cares that All persons Lord/lady to the guy that shoveled after the horses had to deal with fleas, ticks. Where the castles were drafty & cold. The animals & some humans…were allowed to go about & piss & poop in the halls……& where the smell alone could kill us……but I digress…Loved these characters & their development. The storyline & the HEA. Maybe this is a series..?!! Would love to here of others getting their HEA too. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. HAPPY READING!!

Title is appropriately named. It’s been a long while since I read a medieval historical romance novel. I thought the About section and the Author note important prior to reading due to the terminology and some necessary facts. Entrancing and entertaining. I didn’t want to stop reading because I was as deeply intrigued. Lady Della is labeled ‘cold-hearted’ due to her hatred of the Vikings. As the daughter of the Ealdorman of Strathfeld, she is betrothed to a Viking as a means for her father to show his loyalty to the Norse King. So you can only imagine the drama waiting for you by this alone. Also toss in her traumatized childhood and the good-looking Lord Brant of Blackwell. A Viking who is known as the Fiery One, Lord Brant is given a reprieve from war to take a break. These two clash and the fireworks are extreme. A mystery appears and as the plot thickens so does the intensity. I was very pleased to read this. It was a breath of fresh air. I enjoyed it and if you like medieval historical romance you will like this too.

I loved this story and how played out ,the story of how opposites attract and of how misjudged hatred turns to love. Della is a often labeled Della the Cold for the one reason she seem to be a cold person. She had a tragic event happen to her as a young child where she lost her mother and baby brother at the hands of a bunch of Viking men which is why she hated the race so munch she blamed them all. When was eight she lost her cousin and only friend when he was sent away by her father. Guess Della figure that every time she got close to someone and loved them she lost them. Della world was about to change when she meets and is married of to the very kind of man she hated a Viking.
Brant a Viking Lord of Blackwell is as hot blooded and stubborn as they come is to be married to Della daughter of Lord of Strathfeld by decree o the King in other to strengthen both lands by uniting them . As the story goes on the two off fight much and question each other motives to see if they are being truthful. They often surprise each other by totally doing things out of character.
If Della and Brant’s marriage is to survive they will need to work hard on it. Things are thrown for a loop when someone from Della’s past her cousin Stuart arrives home and causes utter chaos and cause the couple to question yet again each other loyalty to one another as the unwanted guess misguides a young and naïve Della once again.
Della begins to see the truth of things but it maybe to late and her life and what she has come to realize what and who she truly loves is in danger. Will it be to late or will all be saved.
What a gut-wrenching book. I felt so bad for both Della and Brant. There was so much miscommunication between the both of them. I wanted to cry for both of them through most of the book. I even had a heard time listening to the book because I felt so bad and knew more was coming for the couple. There is a happily ever after. Also remembering how women were pretty much property back in the day sucks for us women and I hope history never repeats itself on that account.

An arranged marriage to a man she wants to loathe because of his ethnic background and the man who tries to melt her frozen heart. But she goes hot and cold and leaves him confused and frustrated. Lord of Fire, Lady of Ice is an intriguing historical romance. It took me a bit to get into the story, and sometimes I found the characters and the decisions they made annoying. Della behaves childishly at points, and Brant is stubborn to a fault at times. In some elements, this story was a very familiar historical romance, and Pillow conveys the powerlessness of women to a man’s whims quite well, leaving me bristling with frustration at some of the things that Della must cope with. I found the external plot a bit more interesting than the romance between Della and Brant at times. The two seemed to clash as much as mutual attraction pulled them together at points. The ending seemed quick, and the events leading up to it, without delving into spoilers, a bit out of the blue and credulity-straining. I did enjoy the setting and the depth of the characters that peppered the novel quite a bit, even Della and Brant, who were definitely strong, independent characters who came to life on the page. I found the tale enjoyable in places, but was not sorry to see the story end. Overall, fans of Pillow’s writing may want to give this story a try to see her hand at historical romance, but those looking for a tight, modern, adult historical romance might find themselves running out of patience with the hero and heroine before the Happily Ever After shows up.

I enjoyed this story and understand the strife between Lord Brant and Lady Della was a major part of the story line, but thought it almost went too far and too long. Overall it was a very well written story and had a good ending.

Lady Della and Lord Brant suffer through a multitude of misunderstandings until they can eventually find their way to their happily-ever-after. Follow the twists and turns of their story line to see the paths they must follow before they reach their destiny.

What a wonderful surprise this book was! Historical romances are not what I usually read but I found this book hard to put down and enjoyable. Great writing, lots of plot twists, not a dull moment in this book!
This was different from what I expect from this author. Different is not bad, and this excellently written novel is evidence if this. The characters are superbly complex and hold your attention throughout the storyline. The plot leads you through some twists and turns without losing momentum. This is definitely a novel I would recommend.
Not easy to out down once you’ve began.

I love arranged marriage romances, especially when they are enemies to lovers as well, and Della and Brant go through many misunderstandings before they finally find their happily ever after. This book did not disappoint. It was well-written with a few twists and turns that made it a great story.

At first when I read about Della I thought she was a spoiled brat, but as the story unfolds I realize that her past has colored her vision of Vikings. I really enjoyed seeing how she changes as she gets to know Brant. I love how he knew something was off about Stuart. Michelle M. Pillow does an awesome job of writing a story with real emotions and weaving a tale that leaves you wowed with her imagination.

This book had me feeling ALL the feels! Anger, love, happiness and sadness. I really hated a few characters and got annoyed with the main characters a few times. While I do love reading Historical Medieval Romances, the women of those times can really irritate me at times. Although, that’s also what makes this book so great, it’s true-ish to the time frame and Michelle Pillow can make you feel what the main characters feel and see what they see!
Lord Brant the Flame is a warrior who is about to become the Ealdorman of Strathfeld castle he is not sure about becoming lord of the manner after so many years at war, but he has the kings approval and he has the current Ealdorman’s approval although the real problem is Lady Della whom it seems does not want anything to do with him and the worst part is she has been allowed to run wild in the castle and do whatever she wanted and she wants to marry her cousin. But her father had something to say about that and she hasn’t seen her cousin in years, and her father will not give his approval regardless if he was there. Once they are married things go from bad to worse and then they change again but Brant has to leave on urgent business, tragedy strikes and Lady Della finds herself in a dangerous situation. It’s a very interesting storyline and the characters are intriguing. Lots of action, and adventure, drama suspense, some mystery, romance, and love.
