This is my first time reading this author and although this is book 4 in the series, I had no problem reading this book as a standalone. The plot and the characters are interesting, and I enjoyed reading this story, I shall look out for more from this author in the future.

Genevieve & Kendrick are quite the perfect match
This book is delightful and witty. Genevieve is written as a complicated character with many facets to her personality. Kendrick is a devoted, demanding Papa, husband, and partner; giving her all the security, attention, affection, and “guidance” she has been missing. I recommend this enjoyable and engaging read for anyone who likes a little discipline with their loving.

This is book four of the Lords and Little Ladies series. You do not need to read the first three, but it does help. Genevieve (or Ginny or Evie) needs help. She does not want to marry her uncle’s choice, but needs to find a replacement. Enter Lord Anthony Kendrick, or just Kendrick (or Papa). He wants all of Ginny’s sides. Lady Genevieve while in public at balls and such, Ginny when she is being a hoyden and Evie when she is a Little. This is an excellent addition to the series. ONE INCREDIBLE TREAT!!!
OMG! Wow! I’ll get it out eventually. Maybe. I fell hard, fast and deeply in love with this engaging treat. Alyssa totally nailed this bad boy 100% on point with so many emotions it kept me riveted and frozen to my seat. I couldn’t put this little jewel down had I wanted to. All the drama, mystery, intrigue and suspense increases as tension spirals. One thrilling storyline and gripping plot propels this baby to life beautifully. Witnessing the trials and tribulations the characters struggled through blazed this baby together smooth as silk without a single crease. The characters are authentic and realistic with such depth and personalities it’s easy to relate. The scenes are so graphically detailed and descriptive you have no trouble interpreting each scenario as they play off one another in perfect balance. Awesome job Alyssa, thanks for sharing this little gem with us.
Suspense, kidnapping, Marriage of Convenience, and Little Evie!
I enjoy reading historical romances, and I love how this author gives detailed descriptions of the time period especially social norms for women. It’s incredible to think about how sheltered women were in the 1800s and what was deemed acceptable behavior. One false move, and an unruly lady could find herself married off or banned from society.
Genevieve has quite a modern way of thinking, and she is determined to make a go of it without the confines of marriage. That is until her uncle, who serves as her guardian, insists she needs a husband and has promised her hand to an old friend of his, a very old friend who is decades older than she.
Can Lord Kendrick rescue Ginny from a most unfortunate circumstance?
Lord Kendrick takes his obligations to Genevieve very seriously. Turns out, Kendrick seems to know Ginny better than she knows herself. He quickly establishes rules and consequences to make sure their marriage runs smoothly before the vows are even exchanged.
It is easy to get lost in this wonderfully erotic story of how Kendrick’s rules affect his wife. She easily falls for his charming ways and can quickly go from being Genevieve, the lady of the manor, to sometimes the role of Ginny, to the best role of all, being Kendrick’s Little Evie.
Book four in the Lord’s and Little Ladies series a well written story with suspense, drama, danger, spankings, kidnapping, and romance. This is mainly Lord Anthony Kendrick and Lady Genevieve Jacobson/Ginny’s story that was some uncle. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Lord Kendrick’s unusual marriage.
by sewsummore
To escape a forced marriage to a much older man, Ginny reluctantly agrees to marry Lord Kendrick. He is a strict husband who intends to treat her well provided she obeys him and is a respectable lady in society. Ginny proves to be a passionate wife and her acceptance of his daddy desires pleases him greatly and despite several difficult episodes they come to a mutual understanding within the marriage. I enjoyed reading this book and loved reading about their unusual marriage for that time period. With good characterisation and descriptions of that time period have no hesitation in recommending this book.

This book just didn’t really work for me. It’s mostly well-written. It harkens back to a time when the prose was more colorful – read: purple – but I was frustrated by the way it meandered all over the place without seeming to go anywhere. I found it exceptionally slow, and then when it finally got somewhere, it stalled out again. The pace didn’t pick back up until nearly the end. Now, I love words. I know a lot of them. And it makes me mighty grumpy when I have to pull out a dictionary to figure out what the heck an author is talking about. “Nates”? What’s wrong with the dozens of other widely recognized words to describe milady’s posterior? I was also frustrated with the characters. I liked Kendrick’s alpha-ness but I was not impressed that he repeatedly punished Genevieve/Ginny/Evie (and don’t even get me started on the split personality business) for things outside of her control and things that were his own fault. And Genevieve was just too wildly naïve for me to relate to her. I loved when she was strong and independent, but then she’d get all wishy-washy or “too stupid to live” and I was ready to throw my reader across the room. I’m sure there are other readers that will love the style of this book and its characters, it just wasn’t the right fit for me.
I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book through Booksprout.
