Poor judgment: knowing better yet doing it anyway.Flint Stone is a professional in every way. He’s a police officer with the K-9 unit and works at Gun Barrel High as the school resource officer. In his spare time, he’s working his heart out to create a successful gym from the ground up.He’s loved by every single person he ever encounters—student, faculty, and employees—Everyone but Camryn Elvis … employees—Everyone but Camryn Elvis Presley.
The only thing they have in common is their mothers’ poor excuses for names.
Period. The end.
So why is it every time she crosses his path that he has the urge to mess up her perfectly curled hair? Or unbutton a few of her prim and proper buttons?
He knows he should stay away, yet like the high schoolers he’s around every day, he has no choice but to react first and think about the consequences later.
Side note—bad decisions are made, leading to lapses in judgment that threaten both of their jobs. Yet when the time comes, neither one can seem to find the wherewithal to care. Why? Because being bad feels so good.

Five Stars for Lord Have Mercy! Elizabeth @ Carolina Chic’s Read
These two were at each others throats.. until the kiss the same throats. This is full of spite and fire… the perfect combination for the lusty desire that the two have for each other. This Southern gentleman has it all for her and then some… you may need a fan for this one!
I really enjoyed this book and I was looking forward to read about Flint.
The tension between Camryn and Flint is there from the very first page. I like the interaction and the chemistry that follows.
The side characters are enjoyable and they are a really great add to the story!
The storyline was good, and the story well written.
Flintstone and Presley…a fairytale in the making
Camryn is a teacher with the High school and besties with Raleigh whom we met in book one. Camryn has a dislike of the K9 Officer Flint who patrols the school grounds. When Raleigh convinces her to join her at CrossFit sessions…things start going pear shaped! Flint is the owner of said gym and puts them through their paces.
Camryn is sassy and had me laughing so hard and I absolutely adore Flint Another winner for me by LLV and can’t get enough of her books I’m hoping Flint’s sister Carmichael gets her own HEA with Raleigh’s brother….wink wink
I really enjoyed Lord have Mercy it would be one of my favorites by the author , this is part of the southern gentleman series and can be read as a standalone would recommend you start with Hissy Fit because the couple from that are mentioned a few times in this and the heroine from this is best friends with her . Camryn and Flint had a tension that was so intense you could really feel how the felt about one another with their interactions and breezy banter . Loved how they made fun of one anothers name and the way they just made sense . This story has a lot of heart made me die laugh and had a lot of oh no moments along with oh yes moments . I can’t wait to read the next book in the series super excited to see what Lani Lynn Vale does .
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book

I am always excited to read a book by Lani Lynn Vale and Lord Have Mercy was definitely another well written, enjoyable romance story with great characters and a storyline that I loved!
Both Flint and Camryn had the hots for each other but you never would have guessed from the arguments and animosity they had towards each other, but it was all apparently foreplay to the explosive chemistry that they had going on between them. Once they both gave in to their feelings their relationship took off and they were on their way to a happily ever after future.
5 When Supposed Hate Turns to Love Stars!!
I’m officially on the Lani Lynn Vale train!! Now I get why my friends love her writing and have been telling me for the last few years to read her!
This is book two in her Southern Gentleman series and I absolutely LOVE Camryn and Flint…she gives this man a run for his money on every turn. He just doesn’t know what to do with her and her sassy mouth…well he has an idea, but there’s a supposed girlfriend in the picture and he refuses to admit he wants her!
I snort laughed my way through this book for the most part. There’s a certain element of suspense that results in Camryn and Flint spending lots of quality time together which just provides so many moments of sassiness, lust and passion. When Flint FINALLY gives in to his feelings for this beautiful woman, nothing is going to stop him from making her his!
I loved the writing, the storyline, the town, the fact that Camryn tackles something she wasn’t too keen on but does it anyway just to prove a point with Flint. These two are absolutely perfect for each other and I can’t wait to see who’s next in this series!!

Lord Have Mercy is the second installment in the Southern Gentlemen series by Lani Lynn Vale and a continued reason as to why she is an automatic oneclick author for me. We first meet Camryn and Flint in book one, Hissy Fit. Camryn Elvis Presley is a teacher at Gun Barrel High School and the quirky and feisty best friend to Raleigh. Flint Stone is Gun Barrel High’s school resource officer and local crossfit gym owner.
Camryn and Flint have a tension between them that neither can really explain. Secretly wanting each other, and finally making the bad decision to act on those feelings, these two ignite together. Seriously, the chemistry between them is sizzling. Classic LLV romance with a side of suspense, a quirky heroine, and an Alpha hero. Laugh out loud funny, steamy, and a romance you can’t help but want to be a part of. I’m am so loving this new series.
Angela – Alphas Do It Better Book Blog
For some reason, the writing in this book felt a little disjointed, the information and the setting didn’t flow like in other books. I had to re-read in some places to get my book details right. What did work was the wonderfulness of the characters, as is typical in Lani Lynn Vale’s books. She depicts stories of small towns and wonderful characters, full of joy and warmth and good feelings. Then there are the psycho witches that we love to hate and we enjoy so much when they get their comeuppance.
In this story, we have Camryn, the school Biology teacher and Flint Stone, the school resource officer. Camryn is Raleigh’s best friend (the accident-prone teacher in Hissy Fit), and this is the same school where Ezra MacDuff (the football coach in Hissy Fit) teaches. Flint has wanted Camryn for a long time, but every time he gets near she grimaces. He thought she didn’t like him, and it turned out she was terrified by his dog Dooley. When they finally connected was when Camryn started to attend his CrossFit classes at his gym. At the time he was dating Nivea, and he was planning to break up with her soon because she was jealous, obsessive, possessive, needy, clingy and downright psycho. Plus he was seeing his chance to get Camryn so he needed to act fast. Nivea hates Camryn and her best friend Raleigh and was frequently obnoxious through the book. For a minute I thought she was going to be crazy like Tara in the Bear Bottom MC series, but she’s just obnoxious and hateful, and she harasses us all through the story.
The book is straightforward fun and sexy times between Camryn and Flint. The development of their love affair is sizzling hot and fun. Camryn is such a wonderfully sweet and generous woman, and Flint is quick to realize and appreciate it. He’s protective and attentive. Accidents happen, Camryn and Flit deal, they have their ups and downs and we have a wonderful and entertaining love story. A funny note is the characters names: Flint Stone otherwise joked as Flintstone, and Camryn Elvis Presley. Another wonderful tidbit in this author’s books are the little notes just before each chapter. They are hilarious, not at all related to the content, and make me laugh even before reading the chapter.
I am loving this series. Going from not liking each other to hot as fire, Flint and Camryn are the perfect match. The back and forth between them is hilarious at times and others you can just feel the sexual tension between them. I look forward to the next one.
OH BOY! Finished this baby in one sitting! This book was just great, had all the feels. I love that this series is just quick happy reads with a little bit of ‘WHAT’ mixed in. Lani Lynn Vale has some great writing skills to keep me enthralled with her books after all this time, and they just keep getting better and better, not sure that this woman can ever write a bad book!
Although this is part of a series, it can totally be read as a stand alone! So what are you waiting for, get it!!
This is book 2 in the Southern Gentleman series, and is about Flint and Camryn. These two! I laughed through out the entire book! This is definitely one I won’t forget, and one that I will read again!
Camryn Presley is a high school teacher, who had a pretty average upbringing. She has a happy life, except for this one thing. Officer Flint, the School Resource Officer pushes her buttons! And not necessarily in a good way! But really, there is something there that keeps pushing them together, even when they try to stay away from each other.
Officer Flint Stone is a K9 officer, and is working to build his own gym. He works hard, and doesn’t know the meaning of taking a break. Always on the go, he keeps running in to Camryn, at school, at the gym, even in public. Sparks fly each time, and just seem to get hotter with each meeting.
I couldn’t help but love Flint and Camryn. In the beginning, they have this type of love-hate relationship, (you know the kind, the I love to hate you type!) They just seemed to rub each other the wrong way. It made for some combustible interactions! But once they got past that point, they just seemed so right for each other. They fit so well! This book was fun, and full of surprises. I never could have seen that end coming!
Oh Flint and Camryn were awesome. The banter between the two was funny and just really showed the connection that they were going to have. It was life foreplay. There were a lot of laugh out loud moments and then moments that brought tears to my eyes. The drama was pretty straight forward and I really enjoyed it. It wasn’t as intense as some of this authors other books but I loved that about this book. Hot sex, funny banter, a romance that started off from dislike and turned to more, and drama that kept me engrossed…. this book just had every feature that I love about this authors writing. I can’t wait for more in this series. 5 stars #2OCCJD
Lord Have Mercy was book two in Lani Lynn Vale’s Southern Gentleman series but can be read as a standalone. I loved that this couple was the complete opposite from Ezra and Raleigh in book one. For as sweet as they were, that’s how sassy Flint and Camryn were.
Both Camryn and Flint harbored secret crushes on one another, but found themselves dating other people that really didn’t make either of them happy. They danced around and hid their feelings and attraction with spit and sass acting as though they couldn’t stand one another. Once they finally declare their attraction, and Camryn decides to make the first move, their passions explode.
Their flirting and banter is hilarious and, they are just super cute and funny . . . even when dealing with Flint’s obnoxious ex, who also happens to be Camryn’s nemesis at the school they all work at. This couple reminded me a lot of my own which made me love these characters even more!
When push comes to shove and their new relationship is tested in unexpected ways, this couple shows just how much they care for one another, and I absolutely adored this enemies to lovers romance! 5 stars.
Lord Have Mercy was my first book by Lani Lynn Vale after multiple recommendations. I’m ECSTATIC I FINALLY took the plunge!!! I’m bedazzled by the ease of which her story comes together. Everything from her characters’ names to their awesome, unique personalities are perfectly written for the part.
Camryn and Flint are a match made in heaven. The burly giant and the sweet high school teacher have chemistry that nearly blows up the pages. From the beginning, they couldn’t have hated each other more. Each nasty conversation was laced with sexual tension that simmers my blood. THIS it the witty text I live for.
Flint Stone (see, about the names) and Camryn Presley are my new favorite enemies-to-lovers couple. Their snarky comments, fiery debates, and heated passion made me so excited to devour this book. I am a fully certified new fan of LLV. Sign me up for the rest of The Southern Gentleman series, there is some HAWTNESSS in the future!
