The Cal Corwin, Private Eyes series by D.D. VanDyke, is new to me. After devouring LOOSE ENDS (book one), I thoroughly enjoyed the Novella (OFF THE LEASH) that the author included at the end of the book. I liked them both so much that I purchased IN A BIND (book two) to enjoy on my flight home. Do I recommend these books? Absolutely!
It was entertaining and the language was clean. Key criteria for me. Cal is slightly damaged, but I would hire her in a minute if I was in trouble.
The story is powerful, I like how it was presented. Good job writer! If you have some great stories like this one, you can publish it on N0velStar, just submit your story to [email protected] or [email protected]
A little slow in places. The action does pick up mid way.
Excellent writing, quirky characters
Two great mysteries about Cal Corwin, a P.I., who investigates to find missing people. It gets so interesting. Must read. D.D. VanDyke is a great writer!!!
Cal has an action packed ride several times around and through SF, CA. She was a cop now turned PI on the hunt for a kidnapped child. She has some interesting muscle, (two guys built like huge wrestlers) and a computer nerd who knows his stuff.
Bet you can’t connect all the loose ends before the last page!
Just found the story too loose, too fantastical.
Love the quirky characters and San Francisco/Northern California settings. This is a great series!
Good read.
I liked the main character
It kept my guessing until the end.
I thought it was going to be just another detective mystery and I ended up really enjoying it. the author has enough knowledge a to make it realistic and interesting. I will read more of her books.
A really good read
Great read
It was a good book but it just seemed like it was missing something that other books of this nature should have.
tightly written, good plot
It was great but the ending just dropped off. I didn’t think it was the end.
Good read i would recommend.
Well written. Clues are all there, yet the solution still remained a surprise.
