What I Think: If like me, you haven’t read the rest of this series, especially those that came before this, you’ll be hungry for all of it. The tale is great as a standalone, but it teases and hints at other things that will leave you scrambling for the other tales in the series.
Simon and Vic are definitely at a good place after what must have been a whirlwind meeting and romance that must have had lots of Rocky spots making this tale even more precious. The love and care they give each other is simply soothing and enviable as it’s obvious that regardless of what their beginning was, they’ve gained a solid understanding of each other. A foundation that holds even as their world collapses around them
The paranormal world that Simon sees into is fascinating, adding that extra thrill and sweetness as even in death, ghosts show that true love is eternal which of course is why the rubbish coyote uglies ie exes decided this was the perfect time to rear their ugly heads. The exes are so selfish that I wanted to smack okro seeds out of their mouth as I groaned my anger into my pillow because they reminded me of some exes that made me ask myself all over again what the hell I was thinking! But the worst of all is Simon’s mother and I couldn’t help but wonder how she raised someone as loveable and to die for as Simon. Vic is so resilient and strong both inside and out, accepting Simon and being an active part of his world but then I met some members of Vic’s clan including their sturdy matriarch and he clicked into place for me. Then, the drama begins to come in waves, one after the other, until I was anxious and breathless, wondering what else could possibly go wrong that hadn’t yet done so in a bid to be one step ahead of the Authoress. Apparently, this was an impossible dream because I was still taken aback by the events that unfolded, hoping against hope not to go into waterworks mode but the end still made me cry! It was scary how evil seemed determined to get them both yet all I could think for a while was how badly I wanted more!
Verdict? A delicious tease of a tale that will make you hunger for more!
Danger lurks around every corner in this spine chilling sequel. I loved how suspenseful and exciting this book was. I enjoyed reading more about the characters and watching their relationship continue to bloom and evolve.

Ghosts and more ghosts! A great audiobook!
I loved this book when I read it back in October 2019. When I got the chance to review the audiobook, I thought: this will be easy because I’ve already read it. Usually when I listen to a book I’ve already read I don’t need to pay as much attention to the audiobook when I listen to it. Fooled me on this one! I was completely captivated by the story all over again. I think Kale Williams has done a fantastic job performing the books in this series.
Below is a copy of my review from when I read the book in October 2019.
Ghosts and more ghosts!
Loose Ends is such a great book and an excellent addition to the Badlands series. This series caught and held my attention back in October. I’m a relative newcomer to Morgan Brice’s books but I got hooked then and I was really happy to get the chance to read and review this new story.
While Loose Ends is book three (or four depending on if you look at Goodreads or Amazon) in the Badlands series I think it works fine as a standalone. The author does a good job of giving you enough details that you would have learned from the earlier books, and yet those details didn’t feel at all repetitive to me.
Take a look at the blurb; it does a great job of describing the story. I’ll tell you that it kept me on the edge of my seat waiting for the next thing to happen. The book had my emotions all over the place. Simon and Vic are getting on really well living together and both are thinking that it might be time to take the next step but they don’t tell each other that.
The ghosts in Myrtle Beach are really riled up and active in this story! I was totally captivated right from the beginning and stayed up way too late so I could finish it. I hope we get more stories with Simon and Vic.
A copy of this book was provided to me but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author.

I love this series, and Simon and Vic are one of my favorite book couples. This one is action-packed and full of danger. Both men have to deal with exes, with varying degrees of drama; but their love and devotion for each other never wavers. Vic and Simon have to deal with so much, but they are surrounded by wonderful friends who never let them down. I love Vic’s healthy and happy work relationships, and I adore the people in Simon’s life who care for and respect him. The ghosts are pretty awesome, too!
This is another wonderful installment in this series, which is connected to other series I also enjoy. I haven’t found a book from this author that I wouldn’t recommend. Love it!
