He’s, like, literally the worst.
Oakley Davis is the star running back at our university—and the reason I’ve broken my vow to avoid the college party scene. Thanks to a mix-up with my advisor, I’m now serving my Public Relations internship as a glorified babysitter to the party-hard football players.
Specifically, Oakley.
He’s impossible to manage. His Instagram is full of pictures of him … Instagram is full of pictures of him half-naked and drunk, and he’d rather attend parties than practice. His brand needs some serious work, and when he’s not driving me insane, he’s sleeping his way through the entire female population.
But I’m determined. I have plans to graduate a semester early, and nothing or no one will get in my way. I’m a Virgo, after all. Oakley Davis might be a privileged, cocky football star, but I’m Amanda Matthews, and I’ll do whatever it takes to get my A.
I just have to make sure I don’t end up falling in love with the idiot, first.

I love love love loved this book! It’s been a long time since I’ve laughed that hard or much through a book. The hazing lol dying! All the funny one liners, & Amanda’s mom was epic. I’d probably read a whole book just on that woman’s life cause she had me cracking up the whole book. You can definitely tell where Amanda got her sense of humour.
All these characters were so damn lovable Oakley, Amanda, her mom & dad, crazy Shelby & the whole football team. I did like professor Haynes though. I would absolutely love the chance for another book with another player from the team.
Oakley & Amanda, their chemistry & back & forth made this book for me. The only thing that could have possibly made this book any better would have been a couple of Oakley’s point of views. Not only were there the awesome humour, but it had sports with football (hell yeah!) & heavier topics about body shaming & bullying which I think is an important topic in today’s society with social media. These ladies blended all of this together so perfectly to make this amazing read. All of a sudden 3 hours had passed & it felt like no time at all.
I recommend if you love a hilarious sports romance that this is the book for you. It reminded me slightly of the Pucked series humour/sports wise. Amazing!!!
I received an arc of this book in return for an honest review.
Looking to Score was easily a 5 star read. The humor, the sweetness, the storyline, and for me the body positivity message made me wonder why I’m just reading this book. And let’s not forget this cover cause .
Problem and Solver (awww cute couple names) were that fighting instant chemistry, bad boy who was actually a broken caring boy), and the girl with a past but working hard for her dreams. Despite all that amazing-ness the message the book gives off regarding body shaming and bullying made me so happy. Don’t get me wrong the steamy scenes and sexual tension were hot and on point but I loved how that message made the book level up from great to absolutely amazing. 5/5 stars and another score for these two authors.
“It took ten minutes for me to feel like said bad bitch. I was a medium bitch. An over-easy bitch.”- Coralee June & Carrie Gray, Looking to Score
I adored this book. When I say I haven’t laughed that hard and that much from a book in a long af time, I mean it.
There were SO MANY lol moments. The heroine is hilarious and I fell way harder for the hero than I expected.
If you’re looking for a book that is hot AND will make you laugh out loud (like, more than a little snicker. I’m talking a guffaw ) then check this one out.
Such a fabulous read..
I laughed, my heart broke, I swooned.
Oakley is fantastic and stole my heart Amanda -oohhh love her!!
Mad took me so long to read this, don’t keep putting it off, read today
New adult enemies to lovers romance between the star football player and a workaholic student working on becoming pr for sports players.
I normally reach for an enemies to lover book, this book had be laughing for the moment Amanda meets Oakley. Amanda wants nothing to Oakley she wants to prove herself and he will only slow her down. Oakley has his own issues on the way he is and why he acts the way he does. When Amanda and Oakley take the time to get to know each other they realize they may have bigger problems then they let on. I loved Oakley personality he was sweet and everything he did was to help Amanda. HEA promised.
This book is flipping amazing! It has a great story that keeps you in its grasp to the very end. I loved that the story deals with real life struggles and issues, and does a great job doing so. Oakley and Amanda are fabulous characters. Amanda had me laughing through half the book, and her mom, OMG, she is too funny! The audiobook is fantastic, the Narrator did such a great job bring the story to life. I would highly recommend this book and the audiobook.
A cutesy, romantic little book that has ups, downs and comedy in between.
Oakley and Amanda get off to a bumpy start.
Almost an enemies to love story but not as aggressive.
This story hits major issues all over and brings them to light. A turn around story. I love how Amanda had crawled her way out of her own personal hell to get where she is and wants to stand on her own two feet.
Oakley has demons of his own that he must come to terms with and who better than Amanda to help guide his way.
They were adorable.
Loved how they bickered and bonded.
He thinks he is invincible and that he can do what he likes, when he likes, and how he likes…
How wrong could he be…
She isn’t interested in sports, doesn’t know who he is, or even anything about him.
But that’s about to change..
This is a read that will make you smile, make you chuckle and most definetly make you swoon like a school girl.
Hes a jock through and through. A player, a one nighter and someone everyone wants to know or be seen with.
He’s also the kind of guy who’s got trouble written all over his gorgeous face.
She’s the girl who’s turned her life around and is miss sensible now.
The chemistry between them from the moment they meet onwards, is simply divine.
I loved the bones of them both, and didnt want this book to end.
Coralee June and Carrie Gray have written something light hearted and fun, with sparks a plenty and I for one thoroughly appreciated and enjoyed every moment of it.
Looking to Score is a hilarious and emotional Sports Romance, and Romantic Comedy. This is another great story written by Coralee June and Carrie Gray. Oakley is handsome, sexy and charming. Amanda is sassy, smart, strong, and determined. They are perfect together. I like their banter, and their strong chemistry. Great Epilogue. Amy Striker did a great job with the narration. I enjoyed it.
4 stars!
AUDIOBOOK
Oh my gosh this book! It is the epitome of hilarious romantic comedy mixed with sports romance with characters with a ton of chemistry and steam! A perfect listen. Amy Stricker is a new to me narrator and I really loved her performance. Great tone and she told the story with just the right amount of passion and heart in her voice.
Amanda is feisty, fiery and full of sass. She was the perfect match for Oakley. She kept him accountable and in line seen as they are trying to clean up his image to the public eye. She had a bit of a checkered past and has turned her life around but something about Oakley and his antics are about to thrust her back into the spotlight.
Oakley is cocky, gorgeous and confident. He has all the ladies knocking in his door and Amanda has her work cut out with him!
These two exuded sex and chemistry and the connection was pure fire! Amanda had me snorting out loud in laughter at some of her inner dialogue!!
“My lady button was preening like a motherf*cking peacock. She was used to the attention of the vibrating variety, and it was nice to feel something alive and warm—and not battery operated.”
This is my first read by Carrie Gray and second book by Coralee June and I hope to see these two pairing up more in the future.
*review for audible version*
I enjoyed this read so much! Its so freaking funny and fun, SO HOT, it has all the entertaining banter. The phrases that Amanda used throughout had me dying laughing. This is at like the top for me when it comes to romantic comedies, these authors are crazy talented at this genre.
Amanda has a past she’s desperately been trying to rectify with how she lives her life now. She jumps head on into an internship that’ll take her where she wants to be. Oakley is her task but little does she know that its going to be alot harder than she thought. And to top it all off, he’s hot asf and distracting and that starts to become an obstacle in itself. These two together are crazy entertaining and so electric together.
The narrator is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! She is perfect as Amanda. I loved her voice so much. She’s just on point from beginning to end. I hope to get a chance listen to more narration from her. She just nailed the role of this character!
Overall, this is one of my favorite romcom’s EVER! I can’t wait for the next book from this duo. You definitely need to one click this read/listen ASAP!

By: Coralee June, Carrie Gray
Narrated by: Amy Stricker
Romcoms are fast becoming a favorite sub genre for me. They break up the angsty, suspenseful books and refresh my mind. This one by Coralee June and Carrie Gray had me smiling and enjoying the budding relationship between Oakley and Amanda. Oakley is a rising football star with a terrible reputation. Amanda is a public relations major in need of an internship. When she is given the task of cleaning up Oakley’s image, our story begins. Witty banter, undeniable chemistry and the life of college students is at the forefront of this new adult book. Amanda proves herself to be resilient and we see her mature through the story. Oakley has much more to him that originally expected and we see his layers peel. It’s got some very sweet moments, from hysterically funny moments and incredibly hot moments. I enjoyed their journey, especially the epilogue. Laughing til the very end!
Amy Stricker is a new narrator to me, and I enjoyed her performance. She has great voices, and fits the new adult genre perfectly. Her pacing flows easily and I loved her ability to give us all the feelings, from embarrassment to love with her voice.

Looking to Score dabbles with humor in this new adult sports romance. The mc’s were fully developed with compelling characteristics. The manwhore portion is critical to the story and Oakley’s character shows a deeper side. I really liked Amanda’s character and her inner issues were well reflected in who she was. The chemistry between Amanda and Oakley is undeniable while listening to the cute banter between these two. I really enjoyed the epilogue and only wishes it was tokd in Oakley’s pov too.
Narrator Amy Strickers performance was drama enthralled and voiced with reactions. Her intonation was exactly what I would picture as Amanda. She really brought her character to a realistic level. Her tone was smooth and easy listen. I would definitely listen to other audio’s performed by this narrator.
This was a super fun read and just what I needed. You know when you finish a book and go straight into a post-book depressive funk? That was me before I started this book. While I normally read June for a dark, twisted, gut punch straight to the feels experience, and Gray is a brand new to me author, I wanted to give their new rom-com and try. I’m so glad I did! Looking to Score was incredibly funny and the characters were great. Amanda and Oakley aren’t all kittens and rainbows though. Each of them struggle with very real world issues. That just endeared me to them even more. There was a great balance between light-hearted humor and drama. I enjoyed this book immensely and hope to see more Gray & June co-writes in the future.
I love the whole college genre especially enemies to lovers! This book is not my favorite because it was a little too sweet for my taste. I still recommend this book because of it’s wonderful characters and hilarious commentary. It definitely had me laughing out loud. I absolutely loved the mother of Amanda! She definitely gives GILF’s a run for their money. The steamy scenes are definitely a plus!
I loved this book . Amanda and Oakley were perfect for each other. I loved how Amanda was such a great influence and used her own experience to help change Oakley’s image, and even hers. I hope there is a squeal to this book, because I want to follow these two characters. This is a book you will want to read.
Hilarious, relatable FMC. Gorgeous, charming love interest. Full of fun, punctuated by meaningful moments and topped off with fantastic chemistry between the two!
I really liked this book. The characters were very likeable and cute. The writers did a great job writing about these characters. I loved the sarcastic undertone full of humor.
Coralee June is not a new author to me, but Carrie Gray is. I hope to be able to read more of her in the future.
I always like how authors deal with the characters in a sport NA. The girl is often a mentor, used to tame the bad guy, because that is what it comes down to. But men like Oakley are used to getting attention and seks. As soon as a girl comes along who is not interested in him that way, he sees it as a challenge.
At first I thought Oakley was a bit vague at first. But after a few chapters it was clear where this behavior came from.
Amanda was as a strong character, sometimes she felt like she was broken. Not surprising considering her terrible background. Her past was sad and I thought and it made me feel bad. I can’t believe there are such people in the world who can be so rotten from the inside.
One big plus to this book was that Oakley had other priorities than playing pro. I loved that he made different choices for his future because he wanted it and not someone else.
Their discussions brought a smile to my face. Their discussions were so terribly funny, and the statements Amanda made were even funnier. It was therefore very easy to forgive Oakley for his stupid actions.
Oakley and Amanda were the perfect example of two people healing together. And that made the book completely perfect.
I absolutely adore Oakley and Amanda. This books was such a good read. I love their nicknames for each other. It’s so cute. Both Amanda and Oakley do alot of growing in this book and it’s just fun.
I loved this book. It has everything you would want in a sports romance.
Oakley is the star running back, playboy, party mongrel. In short, his image isn’t all that “great” for the team or the school. Amanda is interning for PR – her plans were for music but with no internship openings in her desired position at school they decide to have her clean up Oakley’s image. If she can do that, she can do anything.
The chemistry is electric, but against all the rules. He’s her client, she’s his agent. But when lines blur and get crossed everything starts to change. Looking to Score is a sweet romance packed with hate, love, attitude and so much more.
An absolute must read!
