He’s, like, literally the worst.
Oakley Davis is the star running back at our university—and the reason I’ve broken my vow to avoid the college party scene. Thanks to a mix-up with my advisor, I’m now serving my Public Relations internship as a glorified babysitter to the party-hard football players.
Specifically, Oakley.
He’s impossible to manage. His Instagram is full of pictures of him … Instagram is full of pictures of him half-naked and drunk, and he’d rather attend parties than practice. His brand needs some serious work, and when he’s not driving me insane, he’s sleeping his way through the entire female population.
But I’m determined. I have plans to graduate a semester early, and nothing or no one will get in my way. I’m a Virgo, after all. Oakley Davis might be a privileged, cocky football star, but I’m Amanda Matthews, and I’ll do whatever it takes to get my A.
I just have to make sure I don’t end up falling in love with the idiot, first.

Lets just all take a minute to appreciate this GORGEOUS cover. *drools into my coffee*
Looking to Score
Looking to A Score is a laugh out loud romantic comedy that leaves you with all of the feels. A breath of fresh air. I adored this book. It was just what I needed a this moment and I had no idea.
I had this misconception going in that, Rom coms were not my thing. I thought I needed all of the dark, gritty angst and the broken bad boys to enjoy a book. I was oh so wrong! I loved every single minute of laughing my ass off, swooning at the SWEET romance and fanning my self at the HOT AS HELL chemistry. I fell so hard for Oakley and Amanda. Once again I can count on CoraLee June and Carrie Gray to know what I need before I even knew I needed it.
I wasn’t anticipating how funny this book would be and I truly truly loved it!! Amanda is on the fast track to graduating early if she can do the unthinkable by cleaning up Oakley’s image but even she didn’t realize how difficult it would be in more then one way. There back and forth banter will keep you wanting more
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.

Oh my goodness this book is funny and cute and sweet and hot and so so good. I devoured it and loved this story so very much. This book is about Amanda and Oakley. She is wanting to graduate early and has to do an internship in her Public Relations course but a mix up has no one left for her to mange except the school wants her to take care of the image of one of their star football players Oakley. He is a ladies man and boy oh boy is he a party animal. When they meet it is not love at first sight and she basically takes over his life especially his phone and alarms. However there are reasons that both of them are at the University of Texas. I’m not telling you what it is revealed as you read the story but I will tell you that this story will have you drooling over Oakley, take you back to the days you were in college, have your reading like crazy and you will close the book with a huge huge smile on your face. Don’t miss this one. It was way way to much fun to read.
You see me rolling… on the floor, like laughing out loud! This friggin book is funny y’all! Oakley and Amanda’s story was sweet and sassy and sarcastic and quick-witted. This was such a fun book to devour because I didn’t just read it, I straight up devoured it. As fast as possible. Right now in this crazy messed up chaos that’s life, THIS book was exactly what I needed. I was the perfect little time out. The Calgon “take me away bath” in the form of a book!
Amanda Matthews has relocated to the University of Texas to escape a past she’s not proud of and she just wants to put behind her. She’s determined to take an internship opportunity to help put her on the fast track to graduating early. She’s feisty and goal-oriented, the only thing she has to do, clean up Oakley Davis’s image. But OMG!! What a flipping nightmare. He’s all over social media, and dang is he ever a hot mess express, emphasis on the HOT!! When Oakley starts flirting and she’s around him all the time, will she be able to resist his delicious body and that annoying yet adorable charm that drops panties all across campus?
Will this be the new start Amanda was hoping it would be, or will parts of her find history repeating itself?
Oakley Davis is everything. No heart nor pair of panties is safe on campus. He is gorgeous, talented, and funny. But there is so much more to him than that. His character cracks me up so much. When he is forced to spend time with Amanda he really makes it annoyingly hilarious at first to try to get under her skin. I love books where the big man on campus is brought to his knees by our heroine. I think we get that here and it’s so sweet and endearing. I never found his character to be the d-baggy popular guy. He did get around a lot and he was unapologetic in his behaviors but he was just so adorable, it was easy to forgive him. Lol
I don’t know how that happened. I guess because he wasn’t a mean character and he had reasons for being the way he was and they were quite heartbreaking as well. I loved these two together, they both had stuff to overcome and they were able to do that and heal together. It was perfect! I love CoraLee and I am super excited for newcomer Carrie and what she has in store for us in the future.

Cr8zysockbookblock blog wrap up for this book!
– This book is freaking adorable! Secrets , angst, hella hot and sexy times, so much heart, banter, tears, forgiveness, overcoming past mistakes, just enough frustration. Y’all the banter, the creative names for the genitalia. Talk about HILARIOUS. Our H is downright sinful and our h is sassy AF. These characters are FANTABULOUS! GAH! They are LIFE!!
-Holy hawt biscuits and gravy! Ladies, Oakley is hot enough to make you want to slap your granny! LOVE IT ALL!!
Cliffhanger Warning-No Cliffhanger!I You want Happy Ending, You Get Happy Ending!
Omg this book gave me such a headache!! A headache from laughing. I haven’t been big on rom coms but I fan girl pretty hard over CoraLee June, so I decided to give it a try, and I was so glad I did. Oakley is a hot mess y’all. He pulls the typical man whore top athlete bull, what sets this apart though is there is a serious undertone as well. Amanda a so type A it’s almost painful, but as the story progresses we really get to see these two progress as humans. Told entirely in Amanda’s voice this is a refreshing look at college sports and some of the things we do while looking for redemption.
Looking to Score is like the book equivalent of comfort food- goes down easy and leaves you feeling full and content. This book is funny, charming, heart-warming, insanely clever, and JUST what we need. I simply LOVED it and could not put it down.
Our story centers on our heroine Amanda- an aspiring public relations student who is hoping to earn her spot in the field through an internship in her final year of college. We learn quickly Amanda has had some challenges of late- life overhauls that have led her across the country to a new school for her final year and into a new lifestyle that she’s adamantly micromanaging. Her sudden transfer limits her PR options, and she gets stuck working for (or more like babysitting) star football player Oakley- whose notoriety and lifestyle is basically a PR nightmare. And thus, we have the premise of the best meet-cute story – two seemingly opposite souls, one hyper focused and hyper controlled and the other seemingly out of control and unapologetic about not caring- are thrust together, with neither being particularly happy about it.
Amanda is one of the most endearing, relatable, and lovable heroines I’ve read in a long time. The book is told entirely from her perspective, and from the very first page I knew she’d become one of my all time favorite characters- no exaggeration. Cora and Carrie’s characterization of her feels so genuine, so caringly constructed. Her internal monologue is some of the most clever writing I’ve read- reading a lot like a less neurotic Lorelei Gilmore. She’s incredibly charming, creative, and witty, admirably self-aware and introspectively vulnerable, determined without being obstinate, and refreshingly intelligent….oh, and downright hysterical. I love that they give her character so much room to breathe and evolve- which makes Amanda so vivid. She’s nuanced, fully dimensional, and that makes her so charming and magnetic to me as a reader. I simply adored her- even more so because there as aspects of her story and history that I intimately relate to.
And, even with such loving attention to the creation of her character, we still get a fully realized hero in Oakley. My GOODNESS- their chemistry is explosive. From the first moment they met, I started sweating from the romantic tension sizzling between them. Cora and Carrie artfully build the foundations of their relationship one delicious brick at a time- as our characters find their footing professionally and personally, as our plot pushes them to both grow together as well as simply grow up. Their connection feels real and meaningful, and like both characters, it is lovingly rendered.
Ladies and gents, Oakley is so dreamy. A HOLY-need-a-new-pair-of-panties hero, but one who also tugs at your heart strings – the kind of hero that makes you feel challenged and on your toes and all sorts of hot and bothered yet also makes you feel like you are being drawn into a warm, safe, adoring hug. He’s cocky but not a jerk, dominant but not controlling, promiscuous but sincere. And HOLY hell, I need a cold shower, cause boy has got a dirty mouth on him. I found myself being drawn the most, however, to the sweet heart underneath all his projected visages, which is the best kind of book boyfriend.
Fans of Coralee June will find all you love about her books- deeply nuanced and sharply realized characters with soulful connections, fast moving plot with a few unexpected turns, and YUMMY (and creative…ahem) steamy times. This co-authorship with Carrie Gray brings a new element, however- this book isn’t dark or even dangerous. In fact, this book is light, straight forward, and cleverly HILARIOUS. Yes, this book is laugh-out-loud funny. I can’t count the number of times I read and re-read because I was laughing so hard. The euphemisms, the cultural references, the hilarious banter-laughter abounds! I smiled almost the entire book- it just made me feel HAPPY.
This is the light, fun, heart-lifting balm our souls need, especially during our current culture realities…. but really, anytime. What a fun treat- I hope these two pair up for future fun! ONE CLICK THIS- you won’t regret it!
OMG! This book is one of the funniest RomComs I have ever read! It kept laughing through the entire book. I feel in love with Amanda and Oakley from page one. Not only was this an epic RomCom it was sexy as sin too! This book has some of the funniest one liners I have ever read or heard! #MyClitorasaurusRoaredToLife. I highly recommend reading this book!
Recieved an ARC copy for an honest review.
Looking To Score is filled with hilarity and the pick me up I totally needed. It was read cover to cover without being put down once! Loved it, loved it, loved it!
I was chuckling through the entire book, sharing passages out loud because the hilarity just had to be shared! Looking To Score is told completely from Amanda’s POV and her head is a funny place to be. Like most women, she still has her share of self-doubt and insecurities, but she works hard to overcome them and I love how hard she works at it. Her organization and “take-on-the-world” attitude is awesome, plus it is what catches the eye of one disorganized and out of control football player, Oakley Davis.
Oakley may have everyone else eating out of the palm of his hand, but that hand needs to be washed because who knows where its been. Step in, one amazing publicist, Amanda Mathews. She needs to clean up his image which is no small feat. While working together they discover that they might have more in common than they would have ever thought and sometimes it takes only one person to believe in you.
While Looking To Score is filled with laughter it is also a story about two people trying to figure out a relationship who haven’t really dated before which creates a lot of sweet swoon and hot steam.
GAH, these two together are the best! Digging beneath Oakley’s exterior is panty-melting. It’s hard to believe there is a decent guy hiding in there, especially when you remember who he was when you first met him. It proves that the right person brings out the best in you.
Hilarious and heartwarming read from coralee and carrie everything I didn’t know I needed!!!
A funny and sexy read that will leave you crying both happy and sad tears at the same time as melting your panties right off!!! Some absolutely hilarious one liners that are just brilliant and really make you “LOL”….. but this book isn’t just a fun book to read it tackles a subject that effects more people than anyone realises and coralee and carrie handle it brilliantly.
To say this is an all new writing duo is amazing because the book flows beautifully, the words glide across the pages effortlessly ,as you can probably tell I loved, loved ,loved this book it might just be my favourite from coralee so far and I really cant wait to see what else these two can do .
This was a solid little love story book. The characters were adorable and I loved seeing them get on each others nerves. There wasn’t any crazy, crazy sexy scenes and I wish it had had more…it was on the PG-13 side but nonetheless still good. I will say that some of the scenes between Oakley and Amanda had me laughing out loud!!! Quite a few witty one liners!!! This was a great storyline but I just wish it had been a little bit hotter!! Oakley became a likable character for sure and I loved seeing them work out their issues!! Great beach read!!
I loved this story, it gave me a feel good vibe that had me smiling until the very last page!
I have read CoraLee June before but Carrie Gray is a new to me author, together they have written a fun sports romance.
Amanda is one of those characters that many woman will identify with. I loved that although she has been through some horrible experiences she has come through it all much stronger. She is funny with a tender heart, her one liners had me laughing out loud several times. Oakley the cocky football player is her assignment and what starts out with mistrust soon turns into a beautiful love story with a guy who will have you swooning. This is a story that has a real message about acceptance and knowing your own worth as well as being an entertaining read.
