This book can be read as a stand-alone.I’m Danny Boy. No surname needed. Even though Shay Donnelly, the drummer for Rogue, is my baby brother, everyone in the whole of Dublin–hell, maybe even all of Ireland–knows me as Danny Boy. It’s all I’ve ever been called. But Ms. Amelia Patterson, my therapist extraordinaire, thinks it’s time I go back to formalities. She says it’s only right now that I’m … it’s only right now that I’m closing in on forty years of age and am trying to improve myself. I have no illusions over the ways in which I’ve manipulated and hurt others just to get by, but something has changed.
What makes the difference this time? How do I know I won’t slip back into my old ways again? That’s what Ms. Patterson wants to know.
So, I’ll keep on with the sessions, both to please my brother, and because I’ll need them more than I know. Especially once she enters my life and not only tests everything I’ve fought for, but threatens Rogue by stirring up the past.
It won’t be easy–my life never is–but now I’ve got a dog named Roscoe, a therapist named Ms. Patterson, and an unexpected, but welcome, new band of brothers backing me. All I need to do is stop looking for trouble.
AUTHOR’S NOTELooking For Trouble takes place in parallel with the timeline of Finding Rhythm (Rogue Series #4), so, while it can be read as a stand-alone, incidents from Finding Rhythm will be referenced. Fans of the Rogue Series will be happy to see that all the guys – Gavin, Conor, Shay, and Martin- make appearances

Looking for Trouble (Rogue Series book 5) by Lara Ward Cosio
4 stars
This is book 5 in the Rogue series, and while it can be read as a standalone as I did, I suggest reading from the beginning. I wasnt lost as the story does give background information of whats happened with Danny Boy, but I like seeing what others see too not just the one its happening to.
Danny Boy is the older brother to Shay, the drummer from Rogue. Hes trying to get his life straightened out and is getting help along the way.
I enjoyed this story, even if it touches in addiction, it was done in such a way that you cant help but want to help.
Great book!
Simply Enthralling! Looking for Trouble is the fifth book in the Rogue Series by Lara Ward Cosio and is about Danny Boy and his dog Roscoe. If you have read the other four books in the series than you would know that Danny Boy is Shay’s brother. Shay is the drummer for the band Rogue. Now, you can read this book as a standalone but just like other series, I suggest that you read the other books first. But again, it is not necessary to read the other books. Danny Boy has a dark past and in this book he tells his story of recovery. He works his recovery with his therapist Ms. Patterson. Although he has a bit of an obsession with her, he is working with her and talking to her to help himself heal and recover. Like most addicts he is having a hard staying sober. So Ms. Patterson along with Roscoe help keep him on the right path. That is until he meets “her.” She seems to shake things up for him and for the band as well. So there are plenty of twists and turns to this story, which keeps the pages moving. What also kept the pages moving were the sexy scenes and wow they were really good! Just like the rest of the series this author really knows how to keep things spicy! I’m truly impressed with this book as well as the entire series. A rollercoaster of events and emotions keeps you coming back for more and more. I truly can’t wait to read the next on the list written by this author!
Looking For Trouble was a great 5 star read.
Boy where to start with this review. I loved this book and I look forward to reading more from this author.
Danny Boy is getting older and is trying to move forward from his past demons. He struggled with so much in his early years, he hurt people, cheated, lied and had bad addictions.
With the help of a therapist he is working on getting better. When Jules comes into his life can he trust her or does she have an ulterior motive? Their sexual connection was hot but can they ever have more than that?
Danny’s story tugged at my heart strings and seeing the raw emotions of the family and friends struggling to help him no matter what was great.
I really liked seeing the Rogue members, they along with others added a great element to the story. It really shows that family & friends are there for you, to hold you up and help you through things. Lara really hits on a serious subject that has affected so many and she did a great job with it. You really feel a connection to the characters and what they are going through. I was an emotional mess reading this book, keep your kleenex handy. If your looking for a great rocker series, this is the one for you.
Looking For Trouble is the fifth book in the Rogue series by Lara Ward Cosio and I hope it isn’t the last. I fell in love with the guys of Rogue in the first book and my love for all of them is deeper now. The dynamic of these characters just makes my heart sing.
Danny Boy’s story might be my favorite since he has gone through so much in his life. He overcame so much with the help of a lot of people who care about him and in spite of others who were not good for him.
I want more from these guys and because of that I’m interpreting the way it ended as a wait and see.
Looking for Trouble (Rogue Series Extra)
By Lara Ward Cosio
Rated 4 stars
This is the fifth book in the Rogue series. While I would suggest reading books 1-4 to help with character acknowledgement it is not necessary. This can be read as a stand alone. We met Danny Boy in Shays book, beings that he is his brother. He was struggling with life but came to Shays aid when needed.
Danny Boy has been seeing a therapist. He is one person that really needs to go. He is a recovering heroine addict and his life has not been so good. He seems very immature at times and he is always thinking…thinking positive and negative things. I liked that as Danny Boy was working through his girl issues he made stops to see all of the band members. Each for a different reason or question that only that one could answer. Then later they all seemed to bond a bit more. It was nice seeing all the band mates and finding out what they are doing. This book does coincide with Marty’s book so not all the information is new.
I enjoy the relationship between Shay and Danny Boy. Even though life doesn’t always give them roses. They always seem to be there for each other. I think they are learning to respect each other. Brothers.
There are bits of humor in here along with some serious issues. When the boys watched the baby. Pretty funny. I enjoyed reading this and watching Daniel (Danny Boy) come Into his self.
Looking For Trouble by Lara Ward Cosio is the fifth book in her Rogue Series. This book can be read as a stand-alone.
When Danny has to attend therapy session the last thing he expected was to have to stand on formalities. He hasn’t used his surname in years – he hasn’t needed to. Being in a band as big as Rogue everyone knows who he is.
But she insists. And right now Danny has to keep up appearances and keep everyone happy by attending these sessions. So if that means lasts names then so be it.
But when the past come knocking Danny might find himself relying a little more on the sessions than he expected.
I really enjoyed this book. I loved Danny’s character – the mix of emotions in him and the depth you get to see. The story was great as well and I found myself flying through this book. I will definitely be going back to read the rest of this series.
5 Stars
Looking for Trouble is the fifth instalment in the Rogue Series by Lara Ward Cosio. The Rogue series is one of the best Rockstar romance series that I have had the pleasure of reading. I think I’m drawn to the series not only by the authors superb writing skills- but because of the characters she has created. These are not your ‘typical’ Rockstar romance stories, there is so much more going on in each book. These are not sweet, fluffy reads, these books are much deeper, somewhat raw and gritty stories that pluck at your heart-strings and take you on a journey that will be hard to forget. If you haven’t read the rest of the series, you are seriously missing out. This book could be read as a standalone, but as this storyline plays out in the same timeframe as the previous book, Finding Rhythm- so there are references and details revealed here that occur/occurred in that book. So, if you intend to read the series, I highly suggest reading all the books in their correct sequence, before embarking on this read. The information contained in those books will set you up in a better position to fully appreciate this fantastic story.
I loved how supportive the band is towards Danny. It made for some real heart-warming moments. Although the topic of addiction could be considered quite heavy reading- but this story proves to be uplifting and inspiring. The sensitive subject/s are handled in an honest, realistic and insightful way. There were scenes that made my heart ache for what Danny had been through, and there were a few tears along the way. There were also touching moments and a few laughs as well. Having the characters from the previous books make appearances in this story was like revisiting old friends- and I loved catching up with them and seeing what’s happening in their lives, too.
Ms. Ward Cosio deserves a standing ovation for this story- she certainly exceeded all my expectations. This instalment has a different tone/mood/flavour than the other books in the series but is such a worthy and wonderful addition to the collection, and my favourite of them all!
That ending made me want to continue reading, I had tears in my eyes and while I thought how fitting that ending was for the story- at the same time I didn’t want it to end, I wanted to turn the page, go on to the next chapter/s and find out every new detail.
I am really looking forward to Ms. Ward Cosio’s next book!
Thank you, Ms. Ward Cosio!
I connected more with Looking for Trouble than Finding Rhythm. I found Danny Boy to be very sincere and enjoyed watching him improve his habits and life choices. It’s obvious he really did want to change and better himself. Addiction is a very crippling thing, especially when it’s taken over half your life. I also loved seeing how the band really pulled around him. The timeline was interesting, seeing it interweave between parts I had read in a previous story, but it can be read as a stand alone.
His journey through romance was a bit rocky, as with everything else in his life. I love how much his dog helped him with everything, that can often be the case. I wish it wouldn’t have ended so abruptly, would love a little epilogue. I was so happy to see him get a happy ever after, though. Oh, and I love the cover.
Looking for Trouble A Rogue Series Extra by Lara Ward Visio
Four Stars
Even the crazy messed up people deserve a happy ever after. Danny Boy(Daniel) is clean and trying to stay that way. He is constantly fighting the “voices” in his head. His story is so sad. The constant struggles he faced weren’t easy. Jules was a piece of work. Lord how do people become like her? I couldn’t live with that negativity and constant need to only please myself. I wish there was more on Me. Patterson I would’ve like to know how she felt during all her sessions with Daniel. It was a nice read where you get to see what Daniel went through and how he came to be the way he is. We all love a bad boy who is broken inside.
Looking For Trouble by Lara Ward Cosio is the 5th book in the Rogue series. Although part of a series, this book can be read as a stand alone. I had not read any of the previous books and didn’t feel that I was missing any important information. Although now that I have read, and enjoyed, this book I’ll be looking to read the others as I’m interested to know the full story of the other characters.
Daniel (Danny Boy) Donnelly had a horrendous childhood. The son of addict parents, Danny Boy was left to look after himself and bring up his younger brother Shay as their parents neglected them and left them to fend for themselves. At the age of 18 Danny Boy became a heroin addict. Now approaching 40 Danny is looking to get clean and make a better life for himself.
This book is thought provoking and heart breaking. Seeing Danny’s struggles to stay clean and make better life choices really tugs at the heart strings and you can’t help but love Danny and pray that he gets himself out of the hellish life he has made for himself.
As expected when dealing with a topic such as heroin addiction, this book is dark, gritty and hard hitting. We see Danny make some very bad choices, one of the biggest being his destructive relationship with Jules. He knows that Jules is bad news and it’s hard watching him make so many bad decisions concerning her.
One bright spot in Danny’s life is his therapist Ms Patterson. Without her his life would be in a much darker place. She asks the questions that Danny doesn’t want to answer. She makes him look deeper into why he does the things he does. Danny has feelings for his therapist but she insists that their relationship is only that of therapist/patient.
Can Danny remain drug free? Will he realise that his relationship with Jules is only hampering his recovery? Will he break down the walls and get Ms Patterson to admit that she wants more than a therapist/patient relationship?
Looking For Trouble is Lara Ward Cosio’s fifth book in the Rogue Series. Rogue is the band that the main character, Daniel, is a member of. I have not read the other books in the series and did just fine reading this one as a standalone. I however, enjoyed it very much so and will be going back to read the rest of the series. I can only imagine that they will also capture my full attention and emotions in the same way, if not more so.
I loved reading Danny’s story. He is one complex character and his emotions are so much that to describe reading them as a roller coaster of up and downs is the only true way to describe the experience of reading and feeling them at the same time that Danny is. His story is a tale of self discovery, a complex coming of age. It has been a struggle for him to discover the meaning of life and where he stands in this world he has been trying to make sense of all along. His major demon has been his addiction to heroine. It has destroyed his life and the lives of those around him. Everyone he has ever loved has been affected by his choices he has made while consuming the drug. Will he be able to accept the help, love, and unconditional support that he is being offered? Or will he let his past determine his future?
I really enjoyed the way his band, Rogue, rallied around him to support him with every step of the way. It is hard to be there for someone when they are fighting demons that can’t be easily battled. I know that this is a series around this band but really Daniel and his story really stood on its own. I am intrigued to go back and discover more about the other band mates though and the adventures they go on as a band together.
Another character that I enjoyed reading was that of Daniel’s therapist, Ms.Patterson. She never gave up on Daniel. Every small step was a giant step towards a new future for Daniel and she made that seem possible with the way she supported and helped him. It was very realistic that Daniel feels more than a platonic feeling for her because of the way they connected, but will that be a situation that will ruin all his hard work or will it work itself out without causing too much damage?
Regardless of how dark this story can get, and it gets dark, I was hooked and almost addicted myself with Daniel’s journey. Lara Ward Cosio really approached this topic of drug addiction head on and with no apologies for the ugly sides that it brings out in people. There is no sugarcoating it here and that makes for a novel that the reader can engage in and fully invest in. Overall this was a great five-star read for me, and I will be back for more!
Looking For Trouble by Lara Ward Cosio is a Rogue Series Extra story. So Looking For Trouble can be read as a standalone if you wanted however the Rogue Series is a pretty great series and this specific book is about Danny Boy (Daniel). Danny boy has made an appearance in all of the Rogue books so it’s about time there was a book made specifically for him. In all the previous books he’s been Shay’s addict brother and the trouble maker. This story gives you a more in-depth look into Daniels life and reason for his behavior. You learn about Danny boys thought process and Daniels thought process and how he learns to navigate from the addict, unreliable Danny boy to the reliable man Daniel. This specific story I loved mainly because in all the other stories Danny boy is always the screw up, it doesn’t matter what he does he always falls back into his old habits. But does having a strong support system in the form of his therapist, and open communication with his brother and other band mates make him realize that he had everything he needed from the beginning he was just too messed up to notice it.

Looking for Trouble in the Rogue Series is Book 5 written by Lara Ward Cosio is the fifth book in her Rogue series. I highly suggest reading the previous books in this series to help you enhance this series and give you some background information on the characters. We even see what our favorite couple from the first 4 books are up too. Ms. Cosio’s writing skills has the ability to pull me into her story with ease. I have enjoyed all the characters in this series and Danny Boy is no different. I loved how the characters played off of each other and their quirky ways. They all took me on an emotional roller coaster ride were one minute you could cry the next you could be laughing . This has been an enjoyable series and this story just adds to it.
His name is Danny Boy that’s all he has ever been called. No surname needed. Even though Shay Donnelly, the drummer for Rogue, is his baby brother, everyone in the whole of Dublin hell, maybe even all of Ireland knows him as Danny Boy. Danny Boy has made a total mess of his life. He has burned bridges, lied, mostly to himself and Shay, now he is finally, he is drug-free and the struggle is painfully real.
Ms. Amelia Patterson, is his therapist extraordinaire, and thinks it’s time I go back to formalities. She says it’s only right now that I’m closing in on forty years of age and am trying to improve myself. But I have no illusions over the ways in which I’ve manipulated and hurt others just to get by, but something has changed.

I highly recommend this book/series…

I have read a few of this author’s books but this one is my favorite. This is the fifth book in this amazing series Rogue. I love contemporary romance but this author exceeded all of my expectations. You can read this as a stand alone but there is prior characters in this book as well. I was so excited when I got this book when it comes out I immediately started to read it. It only took me a little over a day to devour this incredible story.
Danny Boy is known as Shay Donnelly’s older brother. He had a very hard childhood so he eventually turned to drugs to get away from his problems. Danny is now trying to better himself for his brother and friends. He is going to his therapist a couple days a week and he is making good progress until he meets her. Danny falls hard for this girl right away. They are two lost souls. He quickly realizes that she is not who he thought she was. She is starting to bring up his past and also looks for trouble. Will Danny Boy see how toxic this relationship is or will he be blinded by love?
I absolutely loved this book. The storyline has it all romance, betrayal, and healing. You will fall in love with all of the characters again. Danny Boy is an older man but he still has the looks. He feels guilty on how he used to act and he is trying to change for the better. Danny goes through some hard times but it makes him more stronger. I loved that there was previous characters in this story. It is fun to see how the other band members are doing. There are some very steamy scenes that will make your temperature rise. This talented author will have you at the edge of your seat until the very end. The ending made me have tears in my eyes. This series is by far my favorite rockstar romance I have read so far. These characters are so raw and real they feel like part of your family. I can’t wait to see what this author will write next.

I have loved every book in the rogue series but there has always been one character that has always intrigued me and I am so excited to finally have the chance to read his story. Danny boy has featured in a few of the books and usually because he has been up to know good but knowing Shay (his brother) I knew there had to be more to his character than I was seeing from the background. I honestly wasn’t sure I was going to like him; I mean he did do some pretty bad things during the other stories, but once I started reading what had happened to him my heart started to melt. I felt so, so sorry for everything that he endured and I loved reading about Danny as he started to find himself again. I could really feel how his addiction just consumed his life and completely took over. He lost his identity to drugs.
Lara Ward Cosio did an amazing job with writing about addiction, I really felt like I was there living with Danny Boy through his darkest days.
If you have read any of the books in this series you will know the depth of this authors writing and this book was no different. A beautiful piece of writing that captured my heart from the beginning.
I felt incredibly sorry for Danny Boy he has a really hard life mostly due to his mistakes lying and just backing himself in a corner , but he is finally drug free but it’s not easy for him everyday is such a struggle. He carries so much on his shoulders but he doesn’t open up to anyone why burden anyone and let go he see it as these are his issues to deal with , but surely opening up will take a huge weight off his shoulders! This is a dark read one you will be pulled into especially on a emotional level it will pull at your heartstrings and all you will want is some goodness for Danny for him to catch a break I felt emotionally exhausted after reading this novel and I was so captivated by the storyline. This is part of a series and I highly recommend reading the first novels first just so you can get a better understanding plus they are all brilliant novels!

The story Looking For Trouble (Rogue Series Book 5) by Lara Ward Cosio is a contemporary romance book. Danny Boy is a character that was previously introduced and I was excited when I saw that he now has his own story. He is the older brother of Shay Donnally the drummer for the band Rogue. He gives the account of his past in his own words and how he feels about that past. He now has weekly sessions with a therapist not only to please his brother but also finds that they help him to cope. Then someone enters his life unexpectedly and turn his world upside down. This someone also could affect the band in a negative way. Will Danny Boy realize before it is too late the danger that his is in of slipping back into his old way of life? Danny Boy is a character that feels guilt about the past. He is working to make positive changes and move forward with his life. He has a struggle to not go back to his old ways. He is a character that you want him to find success and purpose in his life. He has help from Ms. Amelia Patterson, his therapist. She is very by the book and is always trying to keep their sessions on a professional level, even when Danny Boy doesn’t. The other characters in this story are the band members of Rogue and also a dog named Roscoe. This book shows how Danny Boy is learning to find himself and also that he may not be as alone in life as he thinks that he is. This story can be read as a standalone however I recommend reading them in order. Events that happen in previous books are brought up in the next one and the characters also crossover as well. I found that it made for a smoother reading experience. This is an author who writes wonderful stories and creates amazing characters. I can’t wait to read her next book.

I don’t even know where to start with this review. This was a first time read for me with this author and although it was book 5 in this series, it can be read as a stand-alone book. To say that this book took me on a roller coaster of emotions would be putting it mildly. Ms. Cosio pulls the reader in and entrenches you in the life of Danny Boy. But it is not a good life. Being thrust into roles and situations at a young age has definitely left its mark. Now Danny Boy must re-evaluate his life with the help of Ms. Patterson his therapist. Can he pull himself up from the dregs of life he has been living? Ms. Cosio takes the reader into the dark world of sex, drugs and rock & roll and spins a fantastic story. Although this book is not the norm for me, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Dark, edgy with grit and substance. Ms. Cosio delivers a powerful book that will have the reader wanting more.
Looking For Trouble (Rogue Series Book 5) by Lara Ward Cosio is the fifth book in her Rogue series. I highly suggest reading the previous books in this series to help you enhance this series and give you some background information on the characters. I love when an author puts characters from previous books into the current which is what this author has done. We get to see what is happening with them. I enjoy this author’s writing skills as she has the ability to pull me into her story with ease. I have enjoyed all the characters in this series and Danny Boy is no different. They took me on an emotional roller coaster ride of various emotions including compassion. This has been an enjoyable series and this story just adds to it. Danny Boy is the older brother of the drummer from Rogue. He is reaching an age that something has to change in his life. He doesn’t regret what he has done but it is time for a change. Will he slip back into his old self again? He agrees to continue his therapy sessions for his brother and because he will need them once he meets her. What will happen as she stirs up the past? His life is never easy but if he stops looking for trouble that would be helpful. I love this character. He is a little rough around the edges but he made a great book boyfriend. I felt bad for him as he never had childhood and he seemed to get lost in the shuffle growing up. He has burned his bridges but his determination to change and not be that person anymore was great to see. I loved watching him grow so much in this book. I highly recommend this book. Find out what Danny Boy’s story is and if he is able to turn his life around.
Jules! Ugh! (Big sigh). I do not like her! I am surprised that I became as interested as I did in Danny Boy’s story, but I did and I am I proud of his year-plus sobriety! Daniel is the man who your parent will warn you off of, but his handsomeness, his wittiness and his self deprivation would draw you in. Ok, I am now on team Daniel and hoping for his continued sobriety and that he gets the girl! Admittedly, I didn’t realize where I was in the book because I was enjoying it so much that I am surprised at the ending, having ended as it did. Lara has proven to keep all of the Rogue characters alive in subsequent books, but I would have loved several more chapters dedicated to the new relationship that I assume was in Daniel’s future. I feel like I need that before fully moving into the next book where by the title I assume puts a heavier focus on Felicity and Conner. NOT that I’m disappointed, I love Conner! I’m sure to get caught up in the next chapter in their lives, I would have enjoyed more here on Daniel & Amelia. And that bonus scene at the end of this book- JULES! Ugh again!! (Another BIG sigh). And Gavin, really!?
