A sweet Novella that starts with a budding romance cut short. A brother who isn’t a brother. A faithful sweetheart. A lost letter. An honest suitor. A second chance at love, and a happy ever after ending. Jessie Cal is my new favorite author. She’s skilled at developing characters and complex plots. I previously read a very different 3-book series (original title Disarray)which I highly recommend as well. An author who can write a crazy good suspense series and, separately, a good romance, is amazing!
I very much enjoyed this sweel, short story. It has tragedy, romance, faithfulness, lies, lots of emotion but finally an HEA. Definately worth the time to read. I received a free copy from the author when I signed up for her newsletter.
A short but well written read. He is on one vineyard and they have had their share of troubles with the neighboring one. He found a woman who needs help. she doesn’t remember who she is.When he finds out who she is there is lots of trouble. It is a short, heartwarming, emotional, surprising and much more. I recommend it. I received a review copy and voluntarily review it.
This story is about a young man going about his life with all its challenges. He works alongside his younger brother. They live in Italy and work at a vineyard. Then he meets a beautiful young woman who doesn’t remember who she is, and may I add their meet is “super cute”. She lives with them until she can find a place. In the meantime, Bruno takes her to work with him. They spend time together, and they start to develop a relationship. But just when they’re starting to fall in love, her memory comes back and it… is… tragic, to say the least. That’s when part two of the story continues. There’s a time jump of a few years, and a lot has changed in those years, except their feelings for each other. There’s eventually a happy ending, but they have to overcome quite a few trials.
This is the perfect example of what a reader’s magnet should be. Yes, it’s short, but it still has everything in it–suspense, action, romance, tragedy, swoon-worthy kisses, and most importantly, a happy ending. This book has everything I love in a lighthearted romance and provides a unique and refreshing take on the “meet-cute” trope. It’s not a historical romance, but it’s not contemporary, either. It’s just a long time ago. It’s a sweet but heart-wrenching story. The blurb and cover image didn’t prepare for me for the depth of emotions contained within the pages of this story. I found myself alternating between having to stifle giggles and then sniffles because the story tugged on all my heartstrings. It was that good! If you’re looking for a book where you can finish in one sitting, give this one a try. My only complaint is that I wish it was longer, but for a reader’s magnet, it was perfect.
