Good weave of historical and plausible plot in this book.
The only thing I have against the book is in the first chapter you read about a target he took out; how the rider stopped when he heard the shot that kills him. To my understanding yo don’t hear the shot that kills you. A bullet travels faster than the sound. That mistake, for me, made all the factual historical facts, suspect.
So-so book. Characters are thin. Plot needs to be fleshed out.
Love this series. Different point of view on the Wild West and the Gold Rush days. A family you can follow, events from history, intrique.
I never could get interested enough to finish reading the book.
I thought the writing was quite poor and the plot took way too long to develop. I stopped reading it.
Loved reading the book, but hated the way it just stopped at the end. Guess they wanted you to read the next book.
sucks
Great main character, well written, will read more in the series.
A bit too much family story. Obvious series starter.
Good main character with morals. Easy to read but could put it down and come back later.
This gave me a fresh view into the Civil War and I was somewhat surprised. Interesting read and I was invested in the character progression.
As the rating implies, it was OK. I was mislead by the title and description, thinking it was going to be a civil war sniper novel, which it really was not.
I would give it three stars – nothing higher. It was okay, but not exciting and lots of pieces didn’t read true to life.
This was an interesting story set in Civil war times. I enjoyed it.
The plot was well thought out and the story moved along at a very good rate to keep you interested.
Nice piece of historical fiction.
I did not like it and didn’t finish it. No action, just about Longshot’s life and romance.
An interesting read. I bought the following book, but this one does stand alone.
If you like historical fiction , action/adventure of westerns, you’ll like this.
