Eight months ago, two uniformed men showed up at Grace Martin’s door and told her that her husband wasn’t coming home. She’s tried to move on, but nothing will make that ache in her chest go away. Kurt wasn’t only her husband. He was also her Master. With him gone a part of her is missing and she has no idea how, or even if, she can repair the hole that has been left.A lot has changed in the last … in the last eight months for Alexander Greco. He was injured, spent six months in a VA hospital recovering, was discharged from the Army after ten years of service, and then moved himself halfway across the country to find his friend’s widow. He has a letter to deliver to Grace—her husband’s final goodbye.
Little does either of them know the letter contains something that will change both their lives.

Enjoyed the story line very much… similar to life…
A wonderful storyline that was part tear jerker with a HEA. Grace lost her Husband and Master when he was serving his country. Alexander is a master and friend off her husband and seeked her out as a last bc wish from her husband to dekiver a letter he wrote for her. Oh what a letter it was including a connection chemisty that was connected when Grace and Alexander meet. He was surprised and happy to find she was a submissive. I loved how they took there time before giving into going for their HEA. It was kinky romantic and so well written. I voluntarily reviewed this ARC.
What a wonderful story. How what happens when Alexander brings a letter to Grace from her deceased husband. The sparks are there, but it takes time for Grace to realize it. This is an HEA. Enjoy
I really enjoyed this BDSM romance. With an emotional storyline, plenty of steam and likable and complex characters, I found this book to be quite touching. Grace, an Army widow, that is still struggling from the loss of her husband and Dom and Alexander, the wounded, former Army Doctor and her husband’s friend are brought together by her husbands request that if anything happened to him, Alexander would deliver a letter to Grace. This book deals with pain, loss and shattered dreams. It is filled with sorrow, angst, grief, guilt, survival. It is a powerful story of needing to move on and finding the courage yo embrace a new future. A really great blend of heat and heart.
This is a very sensitive well written love story.
Alexander, due to injury is ex-military and friend of Grace’s deceased husband. As promised, he delivers the farewell letter (that many military men leave for their families in case of their death) for his friend.
Grace and Alexander develop a friendship. Their relationship continues to grow from friendship to love as both go through feelings of guilt and betrayal while attempting to move forward from the loss in their lives.
Truly enjoyed this book. The characters were so realistic & their struggles with loss & guilt were heartbreaking. I enjoyed the way they were able to come together & find happiness after their loss.
Omg I shed a ton of tears. Can’t image losing my husband/Master. Oh the letter.
Following His last order was huge, falling for his best friend bigger. Great story and so well written. One that I will read again and again.
Grace is a military widow. His husband died in a mission eight months ago but she hasn’t been able to get pass it. He was not only her other half, he was also her Dom and she was a lost submissive at the moment, that didn’t know how to cope with the devastation.
Alexander was a military man. He left the force because he had an injured leg but he felt guilty for being “lucky”, not like his friend Kurt, who happened to have wife at home. He didnt’ have anyone waiting for him, so he was trying to keep on living but it wasn’t easy.
This two meet and it’s just sparks since they look at each other. There’s no other way to describe it. They were attracted to each other and felt guilty for doing so at the same time, also Grace felt confused because her husband and Master was gone and she thought she shouldn’t be able to look at another man and felt attraction, it was too soon, right?
Without going into much details, these two are a great couple. The relationship that develops over time it’s precious. I love how Sherri Hayes took the time to put both at ease with the other and that their brains could get in line with their hearts.
In regards of the sexy scenes. Let me tell you those where great. I think they were tailored for the relationship development of the characters to a T. Pushing a little bit but hot and steamy as they should be. I can’t and wouldn’t complain about it at all *laughs*
I would recommend you have tissues at the start of this boo. I’m an emotional reader and a couple of fat tears rolled down my face before I reached 20% of the book. So be prepared.
*I’m voluntarily reviewing an ARC copy of this book*
