This second book in this series is a sweet, clean romance that will touch your hearts.
We met Lulu Raintree in book one. She is fairly in town, and is known as the dog walker. A woman that keeps to herself. Not getting too friendly nor revealing her painful past. A past that left her determined not to get involved , especially romantically.
Brad Sinclair is the local Fire Chief who Lulu has been both avoiding and “stalking”. He makes her nervous. Little does she know that Brad too, has been hurt deeply by someone who was suppose to love him unconditionally, and and he too has no interest in getting romantically involved.
But fate brings them together and as they start getting feelings for each other, they both run in opposite directions.
It’s a story about being hurt in love in life and taking the risk of getting a second chance at love . It’s also a story about family as well as once again “living” and forming friendships.
A very good addition to this series. I am looking forward to what else the author has in store for us.
I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own
Longing for a Hero is book two in the Sunset Bay Romance series. Brad and Lulu’s story hooked me from the start. I really enjoyed it, and I highly recommend it.
This is a nice clean romance story with two people trying to get over past relationships. Lulu is a spunky woman who walks dogs. I think really most of the dogs walk her though. She has moved to this charming town to get away from bad memories and to start a new life.
Brad is the fire chief and his good looks make women swoon around him. Well not everyone because for some reason Lulu tries to avoid him. When her apartment is destroyed in the fire, she can’t help but run into Brad. He is sympathetic and worries if she will find a place to stay.
I really loved how the community came together to help Lulu. Can you image sifting through your burned out apartment and suddenly see a group of women with cleaning supplies ? They are there to help their friend Lulu. She is overwhelmed by the outpouring support of the town.
As we get to know Lulu and Brad better, we find out they are both hurting from something. They each have trouble trusting and it may be hard for them to let their guard down. Brad is such a caring person and I loved how gentle he was around Lulu. He didn’t rush anything and allowed them to get to know each other slowly. You can feel the uneasiness as Brad and Lulu start to realize they may have feelings for each other.
The story is a beautiful picture of finding yourself and letting go of the past. Be sure and grab a copy and follow Brad and Lulu as they search for peace and a new beginning,
I received a copy of this book from the author. The review is my own opinion.
Longing for a Hero (Sunset Bay Romance Book 2) by Debra Clopton
I enjoyed this book about Brad and Lulu who both had somewhat the same problems in their previous relationships. It took them a bit of time and helpful family and friends to see that they could trust each other for their futures.
The book had a surprise about another Sinclair brother!
Longing for a Hero by Debra Clopton
Sunset Bay Series Book Two
Brad Sinclair, fire chief of Sunset Bay, puts his all into his job. Sure he dates, but his heart is locked up tight. After his fiancée left him to marry someone else…he’d decided one broken heart was enough for a lifetime.
Lulu Raintree had run away to Sunset Bay two years ago. She left the embarrassing episode of her ex-fiancé back there, but the memories were with her every moment. Tormenting her and reminding her to never give her heart away again. And yet, for the two years she’s been here, she can’t seem to stop watching the handsome fire chief from the sidelines…or from wherever she might be hiding at that moment.
Two hurt people who no longer trust. A small town with loving people who want the best for those they love…especially a group of four older ladies who like to dabble a bit with matchmaking. Love these first two stories and can’t wait for the next one.

Longing for a Hero is a wonderful gem of a story about broken hearts and the willingness to learn to trust and love once more. Both Brad and Lulu have determined never to give their hearts away again. It is just too much of a risk. But, in this fun story they have to battle their growing attraction to each other if they want to protect themselves from possibly being betrayed again.
Longing for a Hero can be read as a stand alone novel, however, both Brad and Lulu appear in book one, Longing for Forever, and it is fun to build on their backstory in this book and learn more about both of them. This book has a nice balance of fun moments and heartfelt emotion. I definitely recommend both books that have come out in the Sunset Bay Romance series so far.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
I loved Lulu in book 1 and was so excited that she got her own book!!! Lulu has been secretly crushing on Brad. She is so funny about how she goes about “seeing” him. They both were left at the altar and are really leery about giving love another chance. He finally “sees” her and then the story really begins. They are the most adorable couple and love how they are truly each others true love. I highly recommend this book!!! Loved loved loved it!!!!
After having been introduced to Lulu in the first book of this series, I was looking forward to learning why she was always trying to hide from the hunky Fire Chief Brad. What had happened in her past to cause her to try and deny her obvious attraction to Brad? Interestingly, Lulu didn’t know it but Brad and others had picked up on her actions. And after the fire in her apartment, she has no choice but to come clean.
Loved how Lulu gained self-confidence through the story, and after making the decision to make Sunset Bay her home she worked on developing deeper friendships. It was great to see how Lulu and Brad both experienced healing from their past situations as they spent more time together and dealt with their mutual attraction. And how precious are the “older gals” who not only have big hearts but are also ready to play matchmaker if need be.
