This is a short story about Drake and Hailey 5 years after.
It’s a fun and cute read and it shows the highs and lows of parenting.
I loved it and cant wait for more!
Drake and Hailey are so amazing. Sometimes as a parent we forget how much we rely on each other to take care of the kids. Drake finds that out the hard way. Plus the poop, I died of laughter and had to read it to my hubby.
Loved this quick read about Drake and Hailey. We get to see them 5 years after Long Road Home. Drake is so wonderful in giving Hailey a little break but what he doesn’t realize is how hard taking care of the kids. This story is a great follow-up to Long Road Home and I can’t wait to read more from this author.
I received an ARC of this book and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
What makes a father great?
This is a delightfully written epilogue/short story that follows Drake and Hailee, five years after they met. Elijah is older, and now they have twins. Drake loves and appreciates his wife, sending her and her best friend Madalyn on a long weekend of pampering.
I laughed at Drake’s admission to being in over his head, and gaining a new understanding of what Hailee must deal with while he’s on the road. Now that he’s the one at home, it seems that the twins’ gremlin sides have come out to play! He moves from one messy disaster to the next, including one ‘Poop-splosion’
Only the rescue of his best buds, Jaxson and Holden saved this home alone father’s sanity !
I loved this story so much. It’s so funny, relatable and nice to see a father stepping up to let mom relax and get away. This is a really quick read that reads well and holds your attention to the end
This review is for receiving the ARC
Great Read!! Wish it was longer but it was nice to read about the whole group again!
Drake the loving husband he is surprised Hailee with a get away, meaning he’s left alone with the kids!! There’s definitely laugh out loud moments because we know husbands don’t deal with a lot of what us wives go through.
The kids put Drake through the ringer!! And he had to bring in reinforcements and things got even crazier.
I think this should be a recommendation to husbands who think just because the wives work but also come home to more work with the kids, things are not always as easy as it seems so they should really appreciate what we sacrifice.
Again great read! Looking to reading more work from the author.
A fun quick read 5 years after Long Road Home! We get to see Drake have a weekend home with the kids while Hailee gets some much needed time away. It was funny and a cute short read.
This short story is a continuation of Drake and Hailee’s story from Long Road Home. It is recommended that you read that book first.
If I thought Drake and Hailee were delightful before, this novella only confirms that. The story takes place 5 yrs after the original story on a weekend after Drake returns from a week long trip away from his family. He and his two best buds, Jax and Holden, have arranged a girls spa weekend for Hailee and bestie Madalyn. This will be the first time Drake has had the kids to himself. Sweet Elijah and precocious twin girls Emily and Erin. Should be easy, right? Ha! He wishes!
As the girls indulge in being pampered at the spa, the guys are put to the test with fussiness, cranky teething twins, artwork chaos and a poop explosion.
It’s a lot of fun to read 3 adult men brought to their knees by three little ones. I’m sure many moms can relate to this story and will be laughing out loud.
Aside from that, the story is also sweet and heartwarming. The love Drake has for his family is so endearing. He never loses his temper or yells at the kids. Jax and Holden are great in their supporting roles as babysitters.
This is such a sweet conclusion to Hailee and Drake’s story. I love these characters and am really happy for them and their life together.
