I left home ten years ago, promising myself I’d never return to the place where I had never been accepted. I was despised and ridiculed for circumstances completely beyond my control. But when my grandmother passes away, I’m forced to return to Kansas. I will have to face everyone who hated me. But they’re not who I’m most afraid of.My biggest fear? Facing him. Jordan Marx. The boy I once loved … Facing him.
Jordan Marx.
The boy I once loved more than life itself. The boy who defended me from them. The boy I’d disappeared on, leaving him nothing more than a horrible nasty lie and hastily scribbled note.
When Jordan finds out the secret I have carried for so long, I’m in for the battle of my life.
Or so I thought.
I might have wandered for years on a path riddled with thorns but with Jordan by my side, taking the long road home means more than reuniting with the only man I’ve ever loved. It might just mean finding myself, and the family I never thought I could ever have along the way.

“I was falling for Jordan all over again and it was scarier this time.”
I was excited to read Long Road Home after meeting Jordan in This Time Around. In that story, he was just Rebecca’s brother, but I was very intrigued by him and wanted to get to know him better. I enjoyed their sibling banter and could tell that beneath the gruff he was a good person that deserved his own HEA.
After meeting the woman that left town and took Jordan’s heart with her, I couldn’t blame him for loving her. She made a difficult decision that might not have been the right one, but it seemed like her only choice at the time. She had a secret that she couldn’t bring herself to share, so she fled. After learning of the hell she endured growing up among hateful people that blamed her for things that had been done to her, not by her, I felt her pain. How could she subject herself to more than she’d already suffered when the truth came out? Nope, I didn’t blame her. But he would…
My little matchmaking heart was working overtime when she went back to attend her grandmother’s funeral. While she was praying that Jordan wouldn’t be there, I had my fingers crossed behind my back hoping he would. I didn’t want to be disloyal since she was sharing her thoughts and feelings with me, but I was looking at the big picture. You feel me, right? It’s all about the results. If he can forgive her, she can forgive me. That’s my story and I’m stickin’ to it.
I really enjoyed this sweet, emotional and sometimes sad second-chance romance. I also really enjoyed Jordan’s bossy side. The story is told in dual POV, and his thoughts were a little more steamy something caveman-like along the lines of “Bed. Woman. Fuck. Mine.” Then we’d never make it to dinner. Let’s just say that I fully supported his fantasies that fell in line with my matchmaking plans that would result in more Love in the Heartland. I peeked at the series listing on Goodreads, but so far there’s no indication that there’s another installment coming up. I’ve gotten really attached to these amazing characters and hope there’s more coming our way. The line forms here…
Long Road Home pulled me out of the longest book slump in while. I couldn’t get into any book I tried but one chapter into this one and I was hooked! The story of Jordan and Destiny is riddled with half truths and a handful of lies that led them to where they are. But even after 10 years they connection never severed.
I adored the pacing of this story, these two characters have a long history to stand on but they took their time to forgive past hurts and learned to love and live as they are now while letting go of the bad from the past. Everything about this novel was lovely I couldn’t get enough!

4 out of 5 stars
All the feels! I mean this book wrecked me in some ways because as a parent I can’t imagine either side of this story. To have to run away to protect my son or finding out 10 years later that I even had one. Destiny was the poor girl who fell in love with the baseball star – but still the town hated her. Jordan was the baseball star who just wanted to build a family and career with his girl by his side.
I enjoyed this story because despite their love that didn’t die after years apart, they still had to work to find their love story again. I enjoyed the way that Jordan immediately took to being a dad. I think Destiny gave her best effort to really change and be the bigger, better person in this story. AND the best was Jordan’s protective streak for Destiny that hadn’t changed in the 10 years they were apart.
While they were intimate one time in the story, this passage really spoke to my heart:
“Destiny,” I whispered against her mouth. “Let yourself go.”
A shiver rolled down her spine, vibrating against my body. “I’m afraid if I do, I won’t ever want to get back up.”
“I’ll help you. I promise.”
This is really just a simple story of rediscovering that first love and finding even more!
*** I voluntarily read a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review ***
I’m just wowed. As I sit here I can’t put my feelings for this book into words. It’s so magnificently written and I’m not just saying that because I’m a Stacy Lynn fan. But boy did this book take me to Second Chance Heaven….
This story is told in duel POV which was perfect cos we needed both sides of the story. Jordan whom we already met and I was already in Lust with him did not disappoint me one bit.
Watching these two brave it all to come for a funeral was nail biting. Watching them work through the bitterness, heartache and secrets was utterly Heart breaking. It was emotional and heartwarming. They had to heal and gain trust again. We were lucky to be in this journey because it was an utterly beautiful Journey.
Stacy is never Meanji with her sexy and chemistry so trust me when I say that when these two come together it’s fireworks.
Grab this book ladies, there twists and turns… You will wanna bitch slap then hug them. Most importantly you will end this book with happy tears and a full heart.
Enjoy….
So glad Jordan got his own book!!!!
I loved Jordan in “This Time Around” — he was such an overprotective, alpha of a big brother! He loved his sister so much and there was nothing he wouldn’t do for her. I just knew he was going to make some girl so happy with his brooty sexy ways and I was so right!!!! He loves his girl fiercely and will protect her at all costs!
Destiny made some bad decisions when she was younger, but if I am being honest here, given the same circumstances, I am not so sure I wouldn’t have done the same thing. She did what she thought was best for everyone until she realized it just wasn’t working for anyone. She winds up paying dearly for it, but whoever says the love of an extraordinary man can’t fix all your problems, never met Jordan Marx.
I loved Jordan and Destiny as individuals, but together they were perfect! This was such a great story. Lynn provides us with just the right amount of angst, enough of the back story to get us there and when the hotness comes into play, she certainly doesn’t hold back there either lol….
Second chance romance perfection!
Destiny and Jordan’s story has so much going for it: love sacrificed by one, with the other being left in the dark for 10 years. A death brings them back to face each other but hurt and lies still keep them apart until they can put that all aside and come back to each other.
Long Road Home is a must read for any fan of Ms. Lynn and second chances (which I love!!!!)

I LOVE a good second chance romance and Stacey Lynn knows how to write a good one. This had everything I look for in a second chance romance. Something that tore the two characters apart, be it from outside sources, one of the main characters doing, it all of the above. This one had circumstances that led the heroine to make a decision at 18 that changed quite a few lives. Mainly the heroes life, who was left reeling and not knowing what happened which led him to live his life a certain way for a time. And of course the second chance part wouldn’t have happened if there wasn’t something that brought the heroine home. And oh man when Destiny & Jordan come face to face again it is filled with tension and you’re definitely itching to continue reading to see how the blowout is going to come about. And oh was there a blowout! But even when I was understanding why things were said, I still got upset and sad. This book wrung a lot of emotions out of me. I was upset, I was happy, I was sad, I was falling in love. By the end of the book I was crying happy tears.
Another Love in the Heartland story- this time its Jordan’s story!! And what a story it is! Destiny is a single mom who left her small hometown behind years ago and never looked back for good reasons. Now, 10 years later she’s back to attend a funeral. And her child’s father runs into her- uh oh!!! For she never told him her secret- look for plenty of fireworks and angst and drama to erupt when it finally comes out.
Jordan Marx is one sexy man who knows what he wants and definitely how to get what he wants/needs. He was considered the golden boy and he was Destiny’s boyfriend. But she suddenly left him behind without any word and to this day,he’s still so angry and hurt, and when he finds out the news which she kept from him, oh boy, he is livid and insanely furious at what she did.
This is such a emotional rollercoaster ride for Jordan and Destiny. Theirs is a 2nd chance at love romance that is about forgiveness, healing, chemistry, romance, and true love. I loved reading Jordan’s story because I had been waiting for his HEA and what an HEA it was. Destiny is an awesome heroine who had some bad things in her past and she worked hard to overcome them. She is strong, sweet, and such a beautiful character who hasn’t had the best in her life except for her grandmother and child. I loved her chemistry with Jordan and the 2nd chance HEA.
This is one read you dont want to miss.
My Rating: 4.7 stars *****
Long Road Home by Stacey Lynn is the third book in her Love In The Heartland Series. A story that can standalone but is better built as a series so you know the stories of the secondary characters. Told in alternating dual POV between Destiny and Jordan this story will make your heart hurt for the time lost between them. Essentially a second chance secret baby romance this book takes the trope so much further. Well-paced and well-written and extremely well-handled.
Destiny was abandoned as a baby and made to pay it for by the small-town gossips and catty girls in her school. Once her relationship with Jordan started it got worse, up to and including his family weighing in on how she would bring him down etc., With their plans to go to college, for him to play pro baseball and everything in their future mapped out, what Destiny never expected was the positive pregnancy test and all the emotional turmoil that followed. Destiny leaves their small town and Jordan behind having never told him of their baby on the way and thinks she has saved his future and his potential professional baseball career and that it was worth it, whatever the cost.
It has been ten years since Jordan had seen Destiny. When she returns to their small town for her grandmother’s funeral with a son in tow he is knocked off his feet. He can’t even comprehend what his sister sees right away, that the boy is his. There is a lot of anger and resentment but underneath it all there is still all the love they felt for each other. With Destiny eager to make amends and Jordan who just can’t help but love and protect her they have a fighting chance at making another go of it, but will the small-town gossips get in their way again? Can the doubt ever truly let go and leave their hearts?
An absolute pleasure to read – I absolutely devoured this equally heartbreaking and heartwarming story. Enjoy!
Gah! I am such a huge fan of this series!! I am a sucker for a good Second Chance Romance story and Stacy Lynn did not disappoint! There is so much love, angst and heat in this story! Do not miss out on this series! FIVE STARS!!

This is a story about heartbreak, sacrifice, fear, forgiveness and most of all love. Jordan and Destiny haven’t seen one another in a decade. When their paths cross they are forced to face their past and deal with some painful things that have happened. I love the way this story is told, this couple goes through a gamut of emotions and feelings on a path to their happily ever after. Jordan is a beautiful soul, inside and out, and he is the kind of man any woman would hope to have by their side. Destiny is a woman who does not always see her worth but in time comes to find the inner strength she needs to possess everything she ever dreamed of having. Pick up this book today if you want a beautiful story that will make you feel ALL the feelings!

I really enjoyed this 5 star story that had me reading for hours on out. Once I started, I had a difficult time to put it down for very long.
Destiny comes back for her grandmothers funeral after being away for over 10 years. What she didn’t expect to see was her first love, Jordan. Jordan was devastated when she left him with a note all those years. Will he forgive her?
This was an amazing story that had me hooked from the beginning to the very end and even then I wanted more. A great second chance romance with a few surprises. A breath of fresh air. Just enough drama to keep it entertaining and captivating. Great characters too.
Standalone told in a dual POV with an HEA. I highly recommend this story.
Long Road Home by Stacey Lynn is a beautifully written second chance love story. There are a lot of authors who write a great story but there are only a few who can take you to another place with their words and Stacey Lynn is one of the best. I loved this book so much. It was pure perfection!!

Love me some happy endings, but just like everything in life it comes with a roller coaster ride. Dentiny’s ride was a journey a lot of people can relate to. Making decisions, thinking they are right at the time, and sometimes regretting the path taken. Oh but the HOT, steamy moments with Jordan will have you never putting this book down!!! This was a great book to cozy up with.
Long Road Home is a heart warming second chance romance that will give you butterflies. While it is part of a series, it can absolutely be read as a standalone.
Destiny had her reason for leaving her home and Jordan Marx 10 years ago. It’s something that has always been painful for her but she stood by her decision. Even if that meant she stayed in pain. When her Grandmother passes away, Destiny is forced to face her past and the only man she has ever loved.
Jordan wants to be mad at Destiny and have nothing to do with her. All these years later and he just can’t get over her. Now that she is back in his life, the two of them are forced to face the past that tore them apart.
This is one of the books that I really enjoyed the moment that the title makes sense for you. Jordan and Destiny’s path has been riddled with pain but now they are finally able to heal and move on with each other again.
I enjoyed the story and I fell hard for Jordan. He’s just one of those sweet heroes that sneaks up on your and grabs your heart. If you want a heart felt second chance romance with just the right amount of angst then you need to get Long Road Home now.
Long Road Home is book 3 in the Love in the Heartland series, but can be read as a complete standalone.
Destiny left home 10 years ago with a broken heart and a secret. She planned to stay away forever, but when her grandmother dies she is forced to go back to the place full of hurtful memories and hateful people. She plans to return for the funeral, tie up loose ends, and leave forever this time. But things don’t always go as planned, and secrets never stay buried.
Jordan never expected to see the woman who broke his heart again, and he’s not thrilled that she is back in town. 10 years of anger has turned to hatred, and learning the secret she’s kept from him all these years only magnifies that. Now he needs to accept his new reality, and figure out if he can not only forgive Destiny, but let her back into his life, and heart, again.
To be honest, I wasn’t really a fan of Jordan. I understand he was hurt, and lied to in the worst way for 10 years. But he continuously puts his wants and needs first, not the one person he should truly be focusing on. He doesn’t seem to think or even care how what he wants will affect others, and repeatedly forcing Destiny to feel bad about her feelings really got under my skin. Yes, things change in 10 years, but your experiences growing up stay with you, and letting go of all that hurt isn’t always easy. The fact that she is able to grow as a person, and learn to let go of some of those feelings is really admirable, and I loved that about her. But at the same time she’s becoming stronger, she’s letting go of the successful & independent woman she’s become to make Jordan happy.
I enjoyed the premise of this story, and the writing was beautiful, but as a whole it unfortunately fell a bit flat for me. Struggles that should have become major plot points were rushed through and not developed, and things I was really excited to read more about seemed to just blend in or disappear all together.
Absolutely wonderful!
Long Road Home is one of those books that immediately pull you in and have you falling in love. I don’t think I’ve ever read a book by this author that I didn’t totally love and this one had my heart beating and my eyes tearing.
Destiny and Jordan are great characters who feel in love in high school and now ten years later they get their second chance. It’s emotional, sexy and such a great story that you won’t be able to put it down. I’m in love. I have the feels and they are all for these amazing characters and their story. It’s a definite must read.
