Ten years ago Lincoln Calloway broke me.A single, terrifying phone call is all it takes to change the trajectory of my life. But what I thought would be a short trip home, quickly turns more serious as the secrets my family has tried to keep hidden finally come to light. Starting with their new handyman. Lincoln Calloway…my best friend, my biggest heartbreak. After ten years, he’s changed from … heartbreak.
After ten years, he’s changed from the boy who ran away to a dangerously sexy man with haunted blue eyes. I find myself drawn to him, sneaking glances whenever I can. But I’ve been down this road before, and it doesn’t end well for me.
Except this time things are different. He’s returning my stolen looks. Telling me all the things I’ve always wanted to hear. It would be so easy to fall back into his arms, to pretend the last decade never happened.
Unfortunately, things in the past rarely stay hidden and Lincoln’s is bound to catch up with him.
Enjoy this steamy standalone where the lines between love and hate are blurred. Once best friends, Macey and Lincoln will have to trudge through their pasts in order to find their way to a happily ever after.

Macey and Lincoln take you on an emotional, rip you heart out, heartbreaking, beautiful read that by the end you will laugh, cry, and fall for these two and all that life has thrown at them and still find their way home. The road to redemption is not an easy one but the road to love is what makes life better. An amazing read can’t wait to read more from this author.
Lincoln really did a number on Macy. This wasn’t one of those second chance romances where the disastrous breakup was the result of a lame misunderstanding. No, Lincoln was a screw up and a bone head. This list of ways he hurt Macey and their friendship went on and on, no misunderstanding at all. He really hurt her and allowed Patricia to hurt her as well.
A painful read that made it hard to forgive Lincoln and his actions.
The author did a good job in salvaging him as he gave it his all to make it up to Macey.
Macey’s family-great. Lincoln’s family- awful. Lots of ex drama that pulled the focus off of the second chance romance part.

3.5 Stars
The story line was good, the character work was great, and the book had a smooth flow to it. While I enjoyed the book, I didn’t always like the way the characters behaved. I’m not big on excuses, given or taken. Life is all about facing the consequences of your actions and I don’t know that they really did in a realistic way. Other than my own personal feelings on the subject, I found this to be a well written book which entertained me from beginning to end.

Heartfelt, sweet romance. Macey and Lincoln really have a sweet connection; Macey has always been there for him. The story is told in dual POV; Macey’s POV with a bit more chapters than Lincoln’s. Macey and Lincoln were childhood best friends; Macey wanted more but Lincoln was a fool. Lincoln becomes a pathetic jerk of a man; he has his reasons, but I’m not down for his excuses. It’s 10 years later and he’s trying to better himself; which is totally great. It’s nice that he’s trying to make amends; he has a good heart, but it’s been overshadowed by bad decisions. After an incident at home, Macey leaves college to help her grandma and her dad. She finds quite the surprise when the guy who broke her heart, Lincoln, picks her up from the airport, and that he’s so involved in her family’s lives. There will be no hiding for her past going on, and she’s not happy about it. There’s some serious hurt going on here. Lincoln wants nothing more than to have Macey in his life, but she’s not going to make it easy.
Loved Macey’s sass and that she stands up for herself. I didn’t like that she makes excuses for Lincoln by placing all the blame on Patricia; he was old enough to make his own decisions, it’s his weaknesses that shaped his life. Lincoln isn’t blameless; I felt Macey gave him too much leeway in that aspect. I appreciate the grown up Lincoln; it takes a lot of strength to turn your life around, and I could feel how much he really wanted to become a better person. I could really feel the depth of feeling Macey and Lincoln have for each; they have a wonderful connection. Lincoln does some really romantic things and there’s an intense passion between them, so I couldn’t help but root for them to find happiness. This would’ve been a five star read, but there’s a twist that I’ve read in plenty of books that I just don’t care for; it’s just not very original. Other than that, I really enjoyed the passion and heart in this story.
This was the first book that I have read from this author and was not sure what to expect. So I was going in open minded. In the first couple of pages I was not so sure that this was going to be my kind of book, but I am really glad that I kept going. I really enjoyed reading this book. This book not only had romance, but suspense and mystery as well.

I had a really hard time putting the book away, this always happen’s with Jessica’s books.
It was such a heartbreaking story but it was also so sweet and inspiring. Lincoln went trough so much, made a lot of mistakes but he still found the courage to go back home. Macey was so heartbroken that she could never love again but still found the courage to forgive and give her heart one more time. They are perfect together. I love it!
JW Ashley knocks this one out of the park. This story is so relatable. I love the witty banter between not just the main characters, but the whole cast. The flow between characters is easy to follow. This is a beautiful story of childhood best friends, turned enemies (well, mostly one sided…) and what happens when they grow up, allow vulnerability and be who they are truly meant to be.
Back in high school Lincoln Calloway was the boy Macey wanted, the one she wanted to claim her heart, and all he did was break it, in embarrassing fashion. Having him tell her he was choosing another in front of all of their classmates was mortifying, something she is certain she will never be able to forgive him for. The only bit of happiness she has taken from it is the fact that the one he picked left him broken-hearted too!
As soon as she was able to she packed her things and headed to college and left all those bad memories behind, and the boy who destroyed her. But after a call from home and news that her grandmother is in the hospital she knows she needs to go back to Montana.
But what she finds waiting for her there is something she is not prepared to deal with… a very irritating, but also very sexy, man that wants a second chance!
Long Road Home brings us front and center into the lives of Macey and Lincoln, two old friends, now sworn enemies, that are forced to face their mistakes of the past when Macey returns home to Montana to care for her ailing grandmother. Finding Lincoln waiting for her in the airport was a complete shock, and something she was no where near ready to deal with. Not to mention trying to find a way to ignore the old sparks that made a reappearance at the sight of him. These two had a lot of baggage to sort through, and at times I thought there was no way they’d ever be able to find their way, but little by little they made progress and romance began to bloom. But not without a lot of fighting, forgiving, and fending off sparks… this slow burn romance is certain to take you on a emotional ride. I enjoyed this one, the words were absorbing, the characters likable and easy to connect too, got to say not a bad first time read at all! Highly recommend!

If you see this book at the start of your work day and download it, don’t open it. If you open it and tell yourself, you’ll just read it on your break, good luck! I told myself the same lie and struggled to finish working, before I gave in and punted the day. I. Couldn’t. Stop. Thinking. About. It!
This story draws you in! From the first chapter you see Lincoln and Macey following a path laid out for them, only to realize a sharp left term happened in their life.
Macey is trying to live up to her family’s expectations in stead of following her dreams. Lincoln is struggling to make up for a past full of mistakes.
If you’re looking for a romance that give you hope that you’re not defined by your past, and we all can be redeemed, take the Long Road Home with Macey and Lincoln.

I love Macey’s sassyness!! Lincoln is so caring and helpful… but was a jerk years ago! So much heat and drama between these two. So many emotions while reading this book… sadness, anger, excitement, some sexy tingles, and worry! I love her Gram and her dad!! So much drama at the end. And the perfect happily ever after
