A stolen past The only thing Tucker remembers of his past is pain. Used in a doctor’s evil experiments, his memories and identity were erased, and his freedom taken. He believed his nightmare was over when he was liberated by the men and women of McKay-Taggart, until he heard the name Steven Reasor. The idea that he could have been involved in the terrible experiments that cost his “brothers” … his “brothers” everything crushed him. A desperate attempt to force him to remember the truth almost cost him his life. Now his world is in chaos and his only path to finally uncover the truth and atone for his sins leads to Veronica Croft.
A painful present
Veronica “Roni” Croft knew Dr. Steven Reasor was bad for her, but she also saw a side of the man that no one else knew. Even as she began to believe their employer was hiding something sinister, she was drawn to him like a moth to a flame. Their affair was passionate and intense, but also fraught with danger. When he disappeared under mysterious circumstances, she took her first chance to run and never looked back. She has stayed hidden ever since, running from forces she knows are too powerful to overcome. But now the man she believed was dead, the man she mourned, has returned and needs her help.
A dangerous future
As Tucker and Roni unravel the secrets of his past, a dark force rises and threatens to destroy them. Their only chance for survival will require them to join forces with the Lost Boys’ worst enemy. Only together can they finally unlock Tucker’s past. But as Tucker’s memories begin to come back, will it free them both or tear them apart forever?

Where do I even begin?!?! First you have to have read LOST IN YOU before this book because there are events that happen at the end of that book that lead into this one…..well, that’s my opinion of course. Secondly, I said that that book was about expecting the unexpected and that there was a major curve ball, WELL let me tell you (without giving anything away) that that was NOTHING compared to Tuckers book!
I have loved Tucker for a while now and I am so glad we finally got his story and holy cow the hits just keep coming for this guy. I will not spoil anything but man his life was turned upside down, then right side up, then upside down again,,,are you getting the picture here. Dr. Hope McDonald did one heck of a job on this poor guy and it’s no wonder my heart latched onto him so long ago.
I love a good second-chance romance and that is what we have with Tucker and Veronica aka Roni, there is so much to their story and it’s a heartbreaking one so be prepared because you may need a few tissues.
I would recommend reading this series in order even though each book highlights a different couple there is a background story that runs through all of the books and it would be beneficial to read them as released to get the full impact of each of the books.
Happy Reading!!!
4.25 stars– LONG LOST is the fourth instalment in Lexi Blake’s contemporary, adult MASTERS AND MERCENARIES: THE FORGOTTEN erotic, romantic suspense series focusing on six former military soldiers (Jax, Dante, Sasha, Tucker, Owen and Robert) whose minds and lives were eradicated and erased by a secret, military experiment. This is Tucker aka Dr. Steve Reasor, and Dr. Veronica ‘Roni’ Croft’s story line. The Forgotten is a spin-off from the author’s Masters and Mercenaries series where the characters were first introduced and played an important role throughout. I recommend reading the series in order for back story and cohesion, as several story lines are introduced throughout the FORGOTTEN series.
NOTE: If you have not read Lexi Blake’s original Masters and Mercenaries series, their may be some confusion as it pertains to the Lost Boys and their backstory.
WARNING: There are some BDSM scenes as well as Dom/sub sexual scenarios.
SOME BACKGROUND: Several months earlier, the mercenaries from the McKay-Taggart Black Ops group rescued, from an unauthorized military lab, run by Dr. Hope McDonald, six men they labelled the ‘Lost Boys’. With their memories wiped clean, no ID, and no traceable DNA, the Lost Boys were essentially ‘new born’ soldiers trained to kill and destroy. The Forgotten are their stories.
Told from several third person perspectives including Tucker and Roni LONG LOST follows the building romance between Tucker aka Dr. Steve Reasor, and Dr. Veronica ‘Roni’ Croft. Approximately three years earlier Dr. Steve Reasor and Dr. Veronica Croft embarked on an affair in Paris, France but hours later Steven Reasor disappeared leaving an angry and heart broken Roni behind, believing Steven had left her for another woman. Fast forward to present day wherein Roni discovers that Reasor had been Dr. Hope McDonald’s prisoner and fell victim to the same experiments that had been performed on so many others. As Reasor, now known as Tucker begins to recall his memories of the past, our couple must embark on a second chance romance wherein they discover that Roni has been targeted for who she is, and what she knows. What ensues is the rebuilding romance and relationship between Tucker and Roni, and the potential fall-out as miscommunication and misunderstanding threaten their already floundering romance.
The relationship between Roni and Tucker is one of second chances but Roni has a secret that she knows must be revealed, a secret of which her mother struggles in the face of presumed betrayal and lies. Tucker’s memories will slowly return but his love for Roni has never waivered. The $ex scenes are numerous, erotic and intense without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and energetic secondary and supporting characters including the McKay-Taggart team, and several characters from the author’s Masters and Mercenaries series including Ian Taggart. Solo and Ezra Fain’s second chance story line is next in NO LOVE LOST (September 2020)
LONG LOST is a story of secrets and lies; betrayal and revenge; family, friendships, power and control. The premise is intriguing and engaging; the romance is seductive and captivating; the numerous characters are dynamic and charismatic. LONG LOST is an entertaining and wonderful addition to Blake’s MASTERS AND MERCENARIES: THE FORGOTTEN romantic, suspense series.
Whilst Long Lost continues a back story that started in the main Masters and Mercenaries series and transitioned into the spin off The Forgotten books, it is possible to read it as a stand alone story. I say this having ‘only’ read the first 5 books of the M&M series and #3 (long enough ago to have forgotten chunks) of The Forgotten.
Veronica/Roni and Tucker are extremely well written, likeable and believable characters. I could feel the connection this pair shared right from the off. Whilst there are only a couple of fairly mild/tame sex scenes, I really didn’t miss it at all. Quite simply there was one heck of an intrigue filled, action packed plot to enjoy instead. The pace was excellent, the story moved quickly enough to hold my attention but enough time was allowed when depth and understanding were needed.
There were some VERY unexpected twists and turns, in fact most of the time I really had no idea what would happen next. I loved the story, I loved the couple and I can’t WAIT for Ezra/Beck and Solo’s story…..
Who is Veronica Croft and where do we find her? How does she meet or know Steven Reasor? Who is Tucker? Why was Steven Reasor known as Dr. Razor? I laughed when I read that. When Veronica, Violet, and Sara end up being moved to the Garden, they are talking and Sarah asks about the benches in the Garden. The response to Tucker’s reply was funny as all get out. What I learned about Levi Green in this story had me wanting to kill him. You have to read this story that is full of romance, intrigue, mystery, and murder.

Well, Lexi did it again! I was completely captivated and I was quickly lost in Tucker’s story. I enjoyed how the reader learns more into the Lost Boys’ pasts bit-by-bit. Tucker was used by many people and things are discovered throughout this book. I liked the way in which he gets a chance to figure out who he was. While his source is infuriating at times, theres an end game happening. There’s always more than meets the eye with his source (I don’t want to give anything away which is why I sound so vague) and his source is also very sly. I liked how Tucker’s past and present collided and he found himself with a second chance. This book was full of anticipation and nearly finding out everything! I’m so looking forward to the next book in this series!
Long Lost by Lexi Blake is bk 4 in the Masters & Mercenaries: The Forgotten series. This is Tucker Jones aka Dr. Steven Reasor and Veronica Croft’s story.
Oh my, Tucker’s story- I have been waiting for his story! The Lost Boys with their secrets, intrigue, mystery, romance, passion and suspense- it’s the bomb!!!
Tucker is the man with no memories. This book sheds light on his past and how what happened to him; We find out who Veronica is to him present and past-wise. It’s sizzling- their chemistry and their connection. This was a fast-paced romantic suspense read that will have you rooting for the main characters even when things seem like it’s all lost. Past characters make appearances which adds to the story. Loved the emotions and feels that this story gives!! Can’t wait for the next book.
My Rating: 4.5 stars ********
Tucker has few memories of his past after being used an experiment until he rescued by the people from McKay-Taggert and now he is after answers. Everything goes back to his time working for Kronberg Pharma under Dr. Hope MacDonald when he was known as Steven Reasor. Now they have one more link to his past with Veronica Croft.
Veronica Croft has been in hiding since Steven Reasor left her suddenly without a word and with the death of her sister, Katie. Now she has been asked to identify Steven who is in a coma in the hospital. Veronica has her own questions about the past but now she has to worry about more than just herself.
As Tucker searches for the truth he is gradually able to remember certain events but he knows time is running out as everyone is after a list that contains the names of people who were working with Dr. MacDonald. Can the different groups come together to discover the truth in time?
This is the first book I have read in the series and now I really want to go back and start from the beginning!
There was so much mystery in this book and unanswered questions and at times I was super worried about what would be disclosed and how that would alter everything.
I couldn’t imagine what Tucker was going through as he tried to get back his memories and find out what all happened to him. Slowly he began to get back some memories but there were still so many holes. He knew he had fell for Veronica in the past but still had to figure out how she fit into his life and what happened when he was taken and her role in it.
Veronica had gone through her own difficulties when Steven left and was shocked when she learned some of the things that had happened to him. Yet there were uncertainties about events in Tucker’s past that left her confused on whether or not she could trust him which played a huge part in this book.
As this was the first book I have read in this series there were people that I had to figure out but I believe that the book can be read on it’s own although it takes a little bit of time in your head to figure out all of the different characters.
There was so much going on in this book and I needed to figure out everything so I kept reading much later than I should have! There was definitely some surprising characters for me and some I really liked and a couple I hated. There was two characters I didn’t trust and they both proved that I was right!
I loved how Tucker slowly began to put certain pieces together and everything that he learned about himself during the book. There was so much background information that was revealed slowly and a few times I really did some happy dances!
I was so happy when Veronica really realized how she felt and that she was ready to more forward!
The end of the book was once again jaw dropping and I can’t wait for the next book!

Holy amazing read! Crazy story line! Absolutely loved Roni and Tucker. This book once I started it, I could not put it down, I needed to know what would happen next! So much happens there is no way I’m ruining this for the next reader. 5 plus stars.
My god, I just ignored real life and devoured Long Lost. O.M.G. Loved, loved, loved Tucker and Roni!
Seriously, so many of the Lost Boys secrets were finally revealed and I struggled to read fast enough to keep up with all the action.
I loved the relationship between Tucker and Roni. Loved how they both lost everything but somehow never lost the love that they had for each other—even if Tucker didn’t quite remember just who he was in love with.
And noooooo, almost 8 months to wait for No Love Lost? I’ll be waiting with bated breath!
Overall Grade: 1/2
Oh boy! Lexi Blake reminds us what her superpower is with her newest book, Long Lost. Blake has this ability to grab you, throw you into her book, and hold your face to it until the very end. Each page offers more and more suspense, action, and steam as you fall deeper into the intrigue and romance of the Masters & Mercenaries: The Forgotten series. Personally, I found this series (and Lexi Blake) with the book before this newest book, Lost in You, Robert’s story. To be fair to Blake, I wasn’t familiar with the characters or backstories, as I was new to her. That caused some issues in understanding the bigger picture, but, still, I found myself engrossed in Robert and Ari’s story. When the opportunity arose for an ARC for Long Lost, I was definitely interested because one character grabbed a little portion of my heart in Lost in You: Tucker.
And Long Lost did not disappoint in telling his story. I won’t offer any of the story here because there are story revelations to be had for this newest book. What you should know is that Blake creates a world that engrosses you deeply into her storytelling. These are the reasons you should read Long Lost today:
Edge of your seat action and storytelling. This is Blake’s strength. She has this ability to pace her story in such a way that it feels like you are at the same time suspended and pushed forward into her story. There were times when I wanted the story to hurry up because I needed to know that Tucker would regain his memory, and there were times when I wanted the story to slow as Tucker and Roni worked through their relationship issues. I marvel at Blake’s ability to set this pacing in such a way that you know she has your best reader interests at heart. Long Lost is engaging and suspenseful throughout.
The characters. There is literally a character for someone. For a new reader to Blake, this can be overwhelming as there are so many characters to track in this story. Thankfully, the further you read into the book, the easier this task becomes. In the end, even if you don’t know their backstories, you feel as if you know each character well. Even more, Tucker is still the same loveable, funny guy even as he journeys into the abyss of his memories. There is only one moment in this story when I wanted to yell at Tucker because he needs to be strong and he fails to be, causing friction between him and Roni. Yet, in expert form, Blake pulls us through the moment, crafting a sentimental ending for our hero and heroine.
Now, I will say that I still struggle with Blake’s incorporation of BDSM into the series. I’m used to this component framing a story, acting as its foundation for the hero and heroine. In Long Lost and Lost in You, it reads as tangential. I understand the reasons for its incorporation into the storyline. Yet, it reads as BDSM-lite. I imagine that isn’t an issue for many of her readers, yet, for me, it feels like more of a distraction than a necessity for this story. Again, I am sure this lies in my need to understand and know more of Blake’s stories.
I think if I had to define Lexi Blake as a writer I would say she’s more suspense and action than a romance writer. Don’t get me wrong; she writes the heck out of the romance in her stories. The moments are sensual and add a heat to her stories. Yet, the true foundation to Blake’s Long Lost is espionage and intrigue. That aspect of her storytelling is the most gripping, and she illustrates her skill in pulling your reader into her story and leaving her suspended to the page. There is so much story to Long Lost. It surrounds you, challenges you, and keeps you engaged to the very last page. Add to that the gripping and beautiful story of Tucker and Roni, and you’ve got yourself preeminent romantic suspense.
Another saga in the The Forgotten series, this is almost a culmination of everything you’ve waited for. Almost….
I have always been a Lexi Blake fan. She created a literal empire with the McKay-Taggert series and they continue wrecking havoc on evil with the Lost Boys. If you haven’t read any of the earlier books, you just may read this as a fast paced adventure. For those who faithfully follow this world, it is magic. We find several answers regarding Tucker and Robert and Dr. McDonald. We also end up with more questions. But the intrigue, the wit, the steaminess of it all adds up to another 5 star book by our favorite author….
An epically fantastic, action packed, all consuming, sizzling hot romance in Lexi Blake’s Masters and Mercenaries series that set my heart on fire and had me feeling hot, bothered and on the edge! Long Lost is filled to the top with danger, sizzling chemistry, interesting characters that I couldn’t help but to fall in love with and a storyline that was beyond entertaining. A must read from Lexi Blake!
Long Lost is book four in The Forgotten series which is a spin-off to Masters and Mercenaries. A series that I fell in love with so long ago. When Lexi Blake came out with the spin-off I was excited to see where she went with these lost boys and Long Lost is Tucker’s story. Tucker has a past laced with pain, but it’s physical too. Whenever he gets a flashback or tries to remember back to something in his past he ends up with headaches, vomiting and all sorts that leave him a shell of himself, drained and exhausted, so he and his brothers do what they can to avoid bringing his past back into his present. But when Roni comes enters his life, she is a memory from his past, but what is different is that she may hold some answers to these memories he’s having problems with. She may be able to help them work out what it is exactly… But the thing is, she has a secret and it may be the key to open up his memories and learn more about his past.
There is a past between Roni and Tucker, and as she comes into this, they start to remember the time they had together. But there is so much going on for these two. Will they be able to move past this hurt and pain they hold with each other? Or is it impossible for them to find a happier future together?
You’ll have to read to find out and let me tell you now, once you start reading from page one you will not be able to put this down, but I expected nothing less from Ms. Blake, her ability to suck me into a plot full of suspense, mystery, and passion is nothing but flawless. As always she delivers a perfect balance and weaves her words together to create a perfect story for Tucker and Roni. I loved every second of it!
Take a seat, and hold on for the ride because this book is sure to take you on a bumpy one and you won’t want to get off of.
5 Stars!
