USA Today & Amazon Top Ten best-selling author Harloe Rae delivers an emotional enemies-to-lovers romance where a sassy single mom and a reclusive mechanic battle it out with their hearts on the line. This swoony standalone novel is sure to give you all the feels!“Everyone deserves a chance to be rescued.”That’s the mantra I’m repeating when a well-equipped biker pulls over to save me. One … biker pulls over to save me. One glance at the scowl Crawford Doxe is wearing proves he isn’t impressed with the task. My efforts to change his mind deflate faster than the shredded tire at our feet. But disgruntled or not, my so-called hero still agrees to fix my flat.
I don’t expect to see Crawford again, but he’s suddenly very visible in our small town. Avoiding him would be my preference. That’s not how this story goes. For whatever reason, my daughter finds an ally in the broody mechanic. Denying her is something I do my best to avoid. I can only hope Crawford’s shine wears off before he tarnishes what little trust still exists.
As if the odds are ever on my side.
Commitments are a foreign concept to him. He doesn’t make any promises to try. That should’ve been enough for me to steer clear. It most certainly isn’t.
What follows can only be described as a disastrous clash of epic proportions.
But one indisputable fact remains. That lone soul has no plans of opening his heart.

Love this book. Millie is so cute. These characters are so amazing.
My My My is what I said when I finished this book. I loved every minute of it. I have read a lot of books but this one stole my heart. I loved Millie. She really made the book because she was so sweet and innocent and her love for Ford showed through in their interactions.
The story starts of with Keegan getting a flat tire and here comes barreling down the road a guy on his bike. He pulls over to help her and he is all alpha male that is brooding. He fixes her tire and they go on their own way. Keegan doesn’t think she will ever see the mysterious biker but she soon realizes that he is every where and she can’t get her mind off of him.
Then Ford and Millie start to talk to one another and Millie wins Ford’s heart. Keegan can’t help but fall in love with Ford because of how he is with her daughter. But can these two broken souls find happiness or will they become friends?
Oh wow, talk about a broody man who deserves his HEA. Ford was a little rough around the edges and a complete recluse. However he was an amazing man who had been letting his demons control his life for way to long. If not for meeting Keegan and Millie his life would not have changed. I loved getting to know Keegan and Millie. They are an amazing mom and daughter duo taking on the world, one small feat at a time. Millie is extremely shy but so cute. She wins Ford over almost immediately. Those two click so well together. The attention and kindness that he has for her is swoon worthy. Then we have Keegan. She’s an amazing young woman just trying to survive while giving everything she can to her daughter. Her story is sad but she preserved and is going strong. I absolutely love the chemistry I feel between her and Ford.
This was a great read. Normally you have the heroine overcoming something or the other. Not with this book. Here it’s Ford overcoming his demons. While I would have loved to read how that turned out I know I don’t need to know. It was a huge part of how his life was affected but it wasn’t the main focus, just a part of his story and how he overcame his loner tendencies. We get to catch up with a few characters from past books and meet a few new ones. It’s just a fun trip through Silo Springs. One I’m glad I took. Give this book a chance, you’ll end up loving Ford, Keegan, and Millie. Oh and we can’t forget Patch and Elsa! *I voluntarily read an advanced copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.*
Overall Rating – .5
Get ready to devour this read and fall in love with Ford. He’s a hero that’s definitely placed in my book boyfriend list.
Keegan and Ford meet when her car runs a flat and he stops to help her. Ford isn’t the most welcoming person, preferring to live a quieter life, by himself. I loved all the interactions between this pair. Their initial hatred was comical and I loved how Keegan gave it back to him.
Keegan is a single parent and after Millie meets Ford, she develops a bond with him. I loved Millie, she was so full of sass for such a young girl and I liked how Ford included her in his pursuit of Keegan, it was sweet and endearing and showed how all-in he was.
I just loved the transformation in Ford’s character when he realised what he was missing out on and being lonely. He really put himself out there and would have done anything for Keegan.
The chemistry between them is electric and you can feel it in all their dialogue, even when they were fighting with each other. If you’re looking for a new alpha to swoon after, Ford is your man, always ready with the sexy words and to give out the orgasms.
Keegan and Ford are funny, sexy and at moments pull at those heartstrings. There is a good family feel about this book, but also the good old sexy time. If you love a small town, low drama read where the romance will sweep you away with all the feels then this is the book for you and is a definite must read.
I can’t wait to see what happens next with Josey, her character was a hoot!

Loner by Harloe Rae was an emotional and heartwarming story. Ford is the man who stays to himself. He is quiet and reserved and never saw Keegan and her daughter coming. Keegan is looking to give her daughter the best life she can. I love how strong she is and the mom she wants to be. Her daughter is her whole world. When she needs help, Ford comes to her rescue, but he leaves his walls up. Their chemistry is steamy, even as both try and ignore it. I loved their witty banter and back and forth and how slowly their walls come down. I loved the characters, their journey and story so much.
Read and reviewed for Sultry Sirens Book Blog.
Happy reading!
Not all white knights ride in on a horse…
Read Loner today and get swept up in ALL the feels!
I always look forward to this authors books as I love her writing style and how she brings the story and the characters to life. I really enjoyed reading this book and so will you. This book is an enemies to lovers story and is a must read for everyone. I also think the cover is Fabulous.
Crawdford ‘Ford’ is a real alpha male and is quite moody and likes to be on his own in peace and quite and he avoids being in relationships where he can and he is a real loner. He is a mechanic and when Keegan needs help he steps in and after spending time with Keegan and Millie he realizes that actually maybe I have been on my own to long and I do need someone too.
Keegan has had things tough in her life and is not actually looking for anything at the moment just to start her new life with her child in the small town. She is doing the best that she can for her and her daughter Millie. She is a very beautiful, sexy independent woman and she is a great mother that does not need a man. But then why cant she seem to get him out of her mind? The both fight what is happening until the pull becomes to strong.
(NO SPOILERS)
This author really does write fantastic books and her characters are amazing in separate ways. The story flows and it really hooks you in from the very first chapter. I love small town/ single parent romance books and this author really knocks it out the park with this book as usual.
I really like these characters and I really connected to them as the reader, I felt so much for them both individually and the way Ford and Millie are together is so sweet. When they are both together they have some insane chemistry that they cant deny and it gets H.O.T. They have great banter and seeing the journey that they are both on is fantastic. I always love books that have epilogues too as I feel like they add something extra special to each story and this was awesome. Thank you to the author and the publishers for allowing me to read an early copy of this book. ARC provided in exchange for a complimentary honest voluntary review. This small town romance was a fantastic read and I cant recommend it enough it is fabulous and everyone should read it now. I couldn’t put this book down and I loved the healing hugs too. Must Read.
OH My Heavens Y’all!! GAH!! I love absolutely EVERYTHING Harlow Rae writes and Loner was no exception. I’m telling y’all, this enemies to lovers story will capture your heart from page one and won’t let you go. Crawford, Keegan, and Millie will literally take you for a ride on the “feels-a-coaster” and trust me when I tell you, you will want to ride it over and over again.
Crawford”Ford” is a talented motorcycle mechanic who lives his life as a loner and likes it that way. He has a bit of a complicated past that’s certainly not made up of sunshine and rainbows. He’s a good guy to his core though. He is loyal and has a great heart to those he chooses to open up to and be around.
When he first rides up on single mama, Keegan and her adorable mini-me Millie, he certainly wasn’t looking to play the role of knight on shining Harley Davidson. But he certainly couldn’t just walk away and leave them stranded on the side of the road.
When Keegan took her daughter Millie looking for a fresh start in Silo Springs the last thing she was looking for was the moody, broody but hot loner mechanic, Ford. However a couple of chance meetings creates a special bond between her daughter and Ford.
You can’t help but to be entranced by this story from page one. These characters are both gorgeous, yet they are both not without flaws, and broken in different ways. Although their hurting comes from completely different places, the way they treat other people is reflected by their past experiences. I don’t want to give any spoilers because #SpoilersSuck I will just say their initial meeting isn’t the greatest of first impressions. For them that is, for us it was the first of many scenes of delicious banter back forth. It keeps it engaging and interesting and frankly hot AF!!
All of the characters are spectacular and unforgettable in this book. This book has so many things that touched my heart. It made me laugh, it made me cry. I wanted to pull my hair out. I screamed in frustration and I fanned myself, because it was oh so hot! It will keep you engaged the entire time. From the first page to the last. The entire time I just didn’t want to put it down because I couldn’t wait to finish it, then I wanted to cry because it was over.
So clearly, I think this is a MUST read book! It needs So.Many.Stars! This is a enemies-to-lovers, single-mom romance for all fans of both. Basically a blend of pure magnificence!
*I voluntarily reviewed an advanced complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own!
My cr8zysockbookblock blog wrap up for this book!
– This book is a super fast read because you just won’t want to put it down. Full of amazing characters, fun and hilariously witty banter and all the feels. Sinfully sexy love scenes and just enough drama to keep your heart slightly tender and worried for a second that maybe you won’t get the ending you want.
But of course Harloe will give you everything you want in the end.
– Ford and Keegan are nothing short of SMOKIN HAWTT and SEXY!!!
Cliffhanger Warning-No cliffhanger!! I COULD NOT HAVE LOVED THIS ENDING MORE!!
This was a beautiful enemies to lovers story. I was ready for another visit to Silo Springs. What a great little town. This time around the town loner reluctantly becomes entangled with a single mother and her beautiful little girl. Oh Peep, I just want to hug you. These characters were wonderful. We also get to visit with some other couples from Silo Springs. It was fantastic to hear from them. Harloe Rae out did herself with this beautiful story. I loved it!!!! This is another must read from this extremely talented author.
Loving this Loner!!!
Loner by Harloe Rae is a small town, enemies-to-lovers romance that gave me allll the feels. Crawford and Keegan were an amazing couple who had a lot to overcome to get to their well deserved happily ever after.
Crawford was a loner, he preferred it that way after the childhood he’d had, but Keegan and her adorable, and irresistible daughter Millie broke down his craggy walls and let light into his dark, and dreary world.
Be prepared to laugh and cry, but in the end, just give a happy sigh. A worthy read for the start of the weekend.
Keegan and Ford are the definition of opposites attract. Ford is a gruff, socially distant motorcycle mechanic with a chip on his shoulder. He’s used to being abandoned and betrayed – the last thing he needs is someone hogging up space in his life. But that’s what he gets when a flat tire on the side of a road has him stopping to lend a hand to Keegan and her adorable daughter Millie.
Keegan has set everything aside after moving to a new town to start fresh and focus on giving Millie the best life she can. Dating isn’t on her list of priorities – the risk of it ending badly and subjecting Millie to losing another person in her life is too great. But Millie finds Ford likable and enjoys talking to him, something Keegan can’t ignore when Millie barely speaks.
It’s for her sake they start spending more time together so that Millie can flourish. And once they do, the fireworks can’t be ignored. They’re both fiercely loyal and know what it’s like to have that loyalty betrayed. They get each other on another level and create a strong bond between them. Falling in love is inevitable.
I loved the banter, the heat, the tension, and the emotional heartstrings. Most of all I loved how Millie was so important to this story – dating as a single parent is tough and Loner really went all the way to make Millie a key part of the story. And that epilogue … I damn near started crying.
O.M.G!!!! Harole does it again with these Silo Springs boys. My goodness, I can’t get enough of them! Ford, Keegan, and Millie are EVERYTHING!!! Seriously!!! Their HEA makes me totally happy but I want more!!! The swoon is ON POINT! Five Stars way up for Harole and these Silo Springs couples that bring us these amazing stories!
Loner is a phenomenal must-read. Hot, gripping, and powerful, this is Harloe’s best book yet!
I’m really torn on this book. On one hand, I loved the idea of it. I love single parent books, I love when the kids take a huge roll in the story of the main couple and the author rocked it with Millie. I loved her. I really loved the recluse loner hero who doesn’t want commitment. Those were the huge selling points for me with this book. The banter wasn’t all bad with the main couple but it was stiff in the first half of the book.
I’ve read quite a few books by this author and really enjoyed them all but there was just something about this that I didn’t like. I can’t really figure out of it was one thing or if it was more then one but their interactions in the half of the book didn’t work for me. Maybe it was the lack of communication between Keegan and Crawford but I’m not sure. I mean, I get that some of their talks were blunt but it was just hard for me to comprehend how they worked. Small spoiler- like they had 2 encounters, didn’t like each other, then bam, jump into bed, with no condom….. I get they had “the talk” but it was their third time talking and more words (which wasn’t a lot) then the other two combined. I always pray for the suprise baby plot line because it’s my favorite but this just annoyed me. Maybe if they had had a nice conversation before it wouldn’t bug me but they didn’t.
It was a cute read, lots of hate to love going on, but it wasn’t my favorite by this author. It was really fast paced which isn’t bad but jumped around a lot. I have loved this authors other books and while o liked some things about his one, it just wasn’t my favorite. I still plan to read this author because it could just be me, I could be having an off reading week. I look forward to seeing if the best friend and brother get a book. 3 stars #2OCCJD
“ Don’t make promises that are meant to be broken.”
Harloe has done it once again! Shocker..right? Her books keep getting better by the page and this one is no different. I absolutely love a good enemies to lovers book and this one was one of the best ones I’ve read (although Ask Me Why is pretty fantastic too). The characters in this book are very likable and the flow of the story is great, you will stay hooked from beginning to end. Even if at times you want to scream at them both for making complete fools of themselves. Sutton, Grey, Dell, and Decker make appearances in this book as well so it was nice to see a few of our favorite characters from Breaker and Keeper. But the true gem of the book was and will remain is Millie. A sweet little girl who has her eyes set on Crawford because he knows what its like to be quiet. She wants him to be her Daddy now if only he could be nice to her mama…
Crawford “Ford” has been hardened by life with his father. He has been told all his life he’s worthless and that he will never have anyone to love him. Rather than dealing with his demons he hides from them and refuses to let anyone into his life, until he meets Keegan and Millie.
Keegan is a single mom who has been on her own since her parents died when she was 18. Her past with men has left her scared and unable to trust them. She begins to think that maybe her life has changed when a stunningly sexy biker comes to her rescue to fix a tire…that is until he opens his mouth. How can such a sexy man be such a jerk? She vows to steer clear of him but that fails when he comes to her rescue a second time, this time saving Millie. Millie and Ford bond almost immediately and an unlikely friendship begins between the three of them. As their friendship grows so do their feelings towards each other, Keegan is still weary of him and Ford still thinks he’s no good for anyone despite their growing attractions to one another. But when Ford’s Dad makes an unexpected trip to his garage while Millie is with him Ford realizes his dad is right. He’s no good for anyone. With a broken heart and tears running down her face Millie returns home to Keegan shattered. Ford ends things with Keegan…Days later he realizes what a disaster he made of things. Keegan was right. He’s a coward. Now what’s he going to do about it?
#BitterSweetHeat
This is a fantastic story, point-blank. This is a story that is going to grab you from the beginning and wrap you up in it until the very end. I couldn’t put this story down until the very end and now I want more!
This is Crawford and Keegan story, with a heaping helping of Millie.
Keegan is a single mom to Millie. Keegan is strong and after some bumps in her road, she loads up her life and Millie to make a fresh start. Her friends are her family and the love she shows towards her daughter is total #momgoals!
Crawford is a loner, a recluse. It was sad to read how he came to be this way. But when he helps out Keegan and Millie like a knight in dark armor, well whoo wee, grab a fan and a cool drink because the heat that fires up between them it’s gonna make you melt! His alpha tendencies go into overdrive and it’s gonna make you swoon!
I absolutely loved the interaction between Crawford and Millie. They were kindred souls and their relationship was so sweet.
I loved the dialogue, I felt like I could actually hear the characters whispering in my ear as I was reading. The secondary characters are absolutely amazing and I am so looking forward to a couple stories about them! (Please, please, please!)
Finally, the Healing Hugs! I absolutely loved all the definitions throughout the story. It made my heart feel like Ms. Rae was hugging it!
An enemies-to-lovers, small town romance that will give you all the butterflies and a whole lot of love! The author delivers another feel good romance in our favorite little town of Silo Springs.
He’s the town’s elusive bike mechanic who enjoys his solitude and she’s a sexy single mom doing what she can to make the best life for her daughter. One flat tire sets them on a whole different trajectory. He never expected to lose his heart to a quiet little girl and her sassy mom.
Keegan is a strong, independent woman and a great mom. She does not need a man, especially not a broody bike mechanic that she can’t seem to get out of her head. And since he has stolen her daughter’s heart, avoiding him is more than difficult. She’s had more than her share of jerks and she is not looking for anymore. She just wants to give her daughter the best life and to be happy.
Ford is used to being alone, but he never realized he was lonely until them. He knows he should stay away, but the pull between them is just too strong to avoid.
Keegan and Ford butt heads and sparks fly. It turns out to be just foreplay for some angry sex. When they finally get together, their union is sizzling HOT! They may not want to like each other, but they won’t be able to stay away.
Both carry around baggage; Keegan from past relationships and Ford from a father that was just plain cruel. They’ll have to work through their demons to get a HEA.
The author continues to bring us unforgettable romance and characters that we can’t help but love. Millie provides the heart and brings out Ford’s softer side. She’s a quiet little girl that just needed a friend and she found a kindred spirit in Ford. Their relationship is sweet and add in some adorable mutts and you have yourself the perfect small town romance that brings all the feels. Their fall was a journey and their sexy times were smokin’ hot. I need me a FORD!
Harloe Rae exceeded my expectations with LONER!!!
Keegan Daniels has relocated to Silo Springs to raise her daughter, Millie. The last thing she wants is another failed relationship that takes a toll on her and Millie. She is content with how their life is going and then one night she is stranded with a flat tire and her rescuer shows up on a motorcycle. She has instant attraction to him and even little Millie notices him.
Crawford Doxe is the man who lives alone and keeps to himself other than when repairing motorcycles at his shop. He doesn’t venture out and see people….people come to him. He was born reclusive but became even more so when his world was changed about ten years ago. The last thing he is looking for is a relationship with a woman much less a woman with a daughter. As the days go by since their accidental meeting he cannot get Keegan off of his mind. As luck would have it he is in the right place at the right time for a second time and the one needing rescuing is Millie.
This enemies-to-lovers small town romance has all the feels…love, lust, anger, compassion. The relationship that forms between Crawford and Millie is absolute perfection and though it appears he is the one always saving Keegan and Millie I believe they are truly the ones to save Crawford. He starts venturing out into public more and makes such a huge effort to be what he feels Keegan and Millie deserve. The three of them go through many hurdles to get to their HEA.
I have enjoyed every single story in Silo Springs but I believe LONER is definitely my favorite.
I loved this book. It feels like the story is about three seriously flawed people who finally find the path they are meant to follow together. Every hardship chips away the covering to slowly reveal the masterpiece inside. Crawford is such a unique character. It was amazing watching his whole life change and crumble throughout the story. I’m not usually a fan of the single mom genre, but I loved Millie and Keegan. Keegan is a force to be reckoned with. Her struggle to let someone new into their lives and give them her trust, echos her past choices and encounters. Millie tugged on my heart with her own personal issues.
Small town, enemies to lovers at its finest. I LOVED this book–don’t miss it!
