USA Today & Amazon Top Ten best-selling author Harloe Rae delivers an emotional enemies-to-lovers romance where a sassy single mom and a reclusive mechanic battle it out with their hearts on the line. This swoony standalone novel is sure to give you all the feels!“Everyone deserves a chance to be rescued.”That’s the mantra I’m repeating when a well-equipped biker pulls over to save me. One … biker pulls over to save me. One glance at the scowl Crawford Doxe is wearing proves he isn’t impressed with the task. My efforts to change his mind deflate faster than the shredded tire at our feet. But disgruntled or not, my so-called hero still agrees to fix my flat.
I don’t expect to see Crawford again, but he’s suddenly very visible in our small town. Avoiding him would be my preference. That’s not how this story goes. For whatever reason, my daughter finds an ally in the broody mechanic. Denying her is something I do my best to avoid. I can only hope Crawford’s shine wears off before he tarnishes what little trust still exists.
As if the odds are ever on my side.
Commitments are a foreign concept to him. He doesn’t make any promises to try. That should’ve been enough for me to steer clear. It most certainly isn’t.
What follows can only be described as a disastrous clash of epic proportions.
But one indisputable fact remains. That lone soul has no plans of opening his heart.

This story blew me away, I loved everything about this small town/single mum romance and I’m finding it hard to put words on paper that would do Loner the justice it deserves. This is a beautifully written romance with all the feels, it will captivate you and it won’t let you stop reading until you have read the final line.
Crawford (Ford) isn’t a man you would expect as a hero, he is a recluse, he loves his own company and he isn’t looking for love well that was the case before he stumbled across Keegan and her adorable daughter Millie stuck on the side of the road with a flat tyre. Keeghan is moving to Silo Falls to start a fresh life for her and Millie she doesn’t need a broody mechanic in her life but Millie has her heart set on the complete opposite, Millie sees Ford as a hero and a prince who needs to say in their lives. Will Ford and Keegan realise what’s that have is worth putting their past history with relationships behind them and will they take a leap into the unknown……
This book has it all, a broody hot hero, a heroine who will always put her daughters needs first and an adorable little girl who delivers classic one liners only a child could get away with, the story is great, the characters are loveable and this romance has the perfect mix of love, witty banter and passion.
I highly recommend this entertaining gem to all romance lovers and I can’t wait for more from this very talented author, great job Ms Rae.
I love this author. This book had my feelings all over. I really enjoyed this story and the chemistry. I liked that I got to see their relationship blossom.
This book was one of my absolute favorites set in Silo Springs. I never thought Breaker would be topped but I was so wrong. I was not able to put the book down until I finished it. You fall in love with Keegan, Millie, and Ford (Crawford). The chemistry that Keegan and Ford have blows you away. I love how this small town helped both Keegan and Ford heal their baggage and get their HEA.My favorite quote is “I’m seven, not blind.” 5 Stars ! Highly recommend this book!
*I was given an ARC to read for my honest review of Loner*
Holy Smokes! They chemistry that loner Crawford and Keegan share is enough to burn a hole through the pages. I was sucked in from jump street! Millie is the absolute sweetest and the way she takes to Crawford with have you swooning. His nickname for her is the best! Be ready for one rollercoaster ride that will take you through all the feels but guaranteed to leave your heart FULL!
Keegan fresh from the most recent of a string of bad boyfriends moves to a small town to be with her best friend. She has sworn off men and vows that she will devote all of her time to making sure that her introverted daughter, Millie, is happy and adjusts to their new life. But Keegan and Millie seem to keep running into the town loner, Crawford aka Ford. He doesn’t like people and socializing much so he comes across as rude and abrasive. But Millie and Ford connect, they are kindred spirits so it is hard for Keegan and Ford to avoid each other. And there is also the fact that they can’t seem to keep their hands off each other. Keegan and Ford both have baggage that forces them to put up walls but neither one is strong enough to stay away.
Millie is the cutest thing since Ollie in Ask Me Why. Bless her little introverted and perceptive soul. Just loved her to pieces. Once Keegan and Ford decided to be friendly for the sake of Millie I loved watching their relationship grow, their banter/teasing was so fun and holy heck where they hot hot hot. Chemistry for days. But the enemies part just felt forced. I think it would have felt more organic/natural if it was a friends to lovers book. Still loved it and would recommend this book because you really can’t go wrong with a small town romance book by Harloe Rae.
You will devour this delectable treat by
Harloe who has yet again weaved her wonderful web and created another gorgeous small town romance filled with plenty of heart and soul. Tension between Keegan and Crawford is palpable. The friendship he has with Millie is adorable. He may be her white knight but they are his light in his lonely world. This read will have you burning for desire. Swoonworthy sexiness combined.
Loner is the perfect standalone.
Despite these two making you want to bang their heads together throughout most of the book, there was a sweet feel to this book. Both characters have been hurt and don’t want a relationship. I’m also not sure what character I like more…. Ford, Keegan, Millie, Josey or Kellie.. All bring something to the book and the love story that takes forever to happen between Keegan and Ford. I loved this book despite all the hiccups they had to overcome in this book. Such a great book with characters you will love!
Ford is definitely a swoony hero. Yes, he’s broody, but we get a really good insight into why. Keegan bothered me for a lot of the story because she’s her own kind of broody, and while we get some insight into WHY, I didn’t quite connect to it with her. This was 100% a “me” thing & not due to the writing. I found a LOT of the writing almost a type of poetry, which is part of what I love about her writing style.
: )
Along with Keegan & Ford’s romantic entanglement, we also get to dive into the amazing friendship Keegan’s daughter, Millie, forms w/ Ford. I absolutely LOVE how she opens up to him & vice versa. It’s fun & sweet & Millie has such a stellar way of cutting through things & telling it like it is.
Wonderful ending & epilogue, as well. The way that’s done made me soooo happy! There also may be a little surprise bonus at the end. Oh, AND, there are puppies!!! : )
One of my favorite single parents story, this story was everything I needed and more, I loved these 3 beautiful souls together, they were everything!
Wow! I am truly in love with this enemies to lovers, small town romance!
Crawford and Keegan’s story was amazing, add in little sweet and sassy Millie and it is off the charts perfection!!
I laughed and I have cried but one thing is certain, this is my favorite book by Harloe!!
If you want an intense story with a maddening man, a single mom, and a sweet little girl, this is for you!!
This books checks off so many amazing reasons why you need to pick it up ASAP and devour it!
I am not much of a fan of contemporary romance but even I must say that Loner was a amazing read and should be read by all romance -book lovers. I absolutely loved the way our author manipulated the story-line and gave a ride full of so many tears and joy.
My heart broke for Crawford. My first opinion of him was that, he was a prick and then after hearing the full story I did a complete 180. The best character that I found in this book was Millie. I loved the way she had Ford wrapped around her finger with her innocent acts.
Keegan was an amazing mom and a great independent woman who was trying to build a life that was best for her and her daughter. Ford was the lonesome mechanic of the who preferred his own company.
A simple accident changes their lives and sets them on path full of romance and love. Both of them had scars from their past , but that is what this book is about!! I loved the way they both overcame their own fears and got their HEA!!!
This book is recommended to all the Contemporary romance lovers!!
5 Stars
This story was full of passion, heartbreak and sweetness. Ford, Keegan and Millie are a combination any reader can fall for and when the add in two adorable pups, the “Aw” factor is even higher. Unfortunately, the road to happily ever after is not smooth and Ford and Keegan have their ups and downs, despite the heat the exists between them. Baggage is a hard thing to shake and both have plenty. Millie, precious and perfect, creates a dynamic for this couple that gives us a depth of emotion that will cause you to experience each happy smile , along with each sad tear. In the end, lives are changed, for the better, and a young woman and her daughter, find their unexpected hero where they never imagined he would be.

This is one of my favorite books of the year!! Harloe Rae hands down is one of my top five authors because she never disappoints and this book was no exception.
When Keegan has a tire blow out she can tell Crawford would rather do anything but help her but he agrees to help her. She never expects to start seeing him all over town or for her sweet daughter to take a shine to him. The more they are around each other the harder it is to deny their attraction to each other but they will have to face their own past demons if they have any shot at a future.
I love single mom romances and this was one of my favorites that I have read. Keegan was a fierce mom that was trying to make the best life for her little girl, always trying to make her happy and ensure she knew she was loved. Crawford definitely had his swoon-worthy moments and I couldn’t get enough of his interactions with Millie.
I highly recommend this book!

“Everyone deserves a chance to be rescued” That’s the mantra I’m repeating when a will equipped biker pulls over to save me. Holy amazing book. This one deserves more than five stars. Harloe Rae has left it all on the pages of this book for us to get to the be the lucky ones to enjoy it too. She has the most amazing way of describing her characters and the things going on around them that they play like a movie in your head, or you feel like your standing right with them when all the things that are going on happen. Loner is set once again in the small town of Silo Springs. I fell in love with that town in Breaker and Keeper. I was so happy to be back in the town. Here we have Ford who is the town’s elusive bike mechanic. He is a fan of his being a hermit and I could so relate to that as I say that about myself all the time. Keegan is a strong independent mother of one. She is so devoted to her daughter and her happiness that she would never do anything that would make her unhappy. She has never needed a man to take care of her and has this parenting thing one her own down pat. However a flat tire is about to change all of that when Ford stops to help and at that time steals the heart of Keegan’s daughter, and she for her part can not get the broody biker out of her head. She figured it would be a case where she would never have to see this man again but alas the universe has other plans and he is suddenly everywhere. But Keegan isn’t looking for another jerk to share her time with. She has had more than her fair share of jerks and doesn’t want to bring one into her daughter’s life. Ford is so use to being alone that he doesn’t realize just how lonely he is until he meets Keegan and her daughter. I loved these characters and your heart will melt and swoon all at the same time. These are two character’s who are fighting against what we all know is suppose to be. Will they ever see it and get their happily ever after. You have to read to find out. It is so worth it. If you are a fan of enemies to lovers book then you do not want to miss Loner
5 star Review Loner by Harloe Rae
Harloe Rae is a relatively new author tome. I love stories set in a small town, add in that the heroine is a single mum and the hero is a biker and I just knew I was in for an entertaining read. The writing was strong and I enjoyed Harloe Rae’s style. She brought the town of Silo Springs to life for me.
Crawford (Ford) Doxe is not your regular hero, but for Keegan’s daughter Millie, he is; if only Keegan felt the same way. Although both Ford and Keegan have difficult pasts, the often broody mechanic is shocked when he keeps coming across Keegan and Millie. Despite himself, he is attracted to the strong, independent and feisty mother and with each encounter he realizes just how lonely his life has been.
I really liked Ford, Keegan and Millie who is absolutely adorable. As the sparks fly between them and the chemistry grows, will they take a chance on a relationship or let it burn out? Their journey to a happily ever after will be difficult but it will be worth it in the end.

Amazing! Spectacular! Loved! This story is an enemies to lovers. Kept my interest throughout making me want to cry or laugh or both at the same time.
“People call me reclusive, a loner, and they’re right. I’ve always kept to myself and prefer to be on my own.”
If you’ve never read this amazingly gifted wordsmith’s work, you’re really missing out! Heavy on the feels with overwhelming depths of heart, her books are an unparalleled, unforgettable experience. She has a way of creating characters that burrow deep, absconding with pieces of your heart and soul until you’re totally and completely consumed and owned by them.
I thought Brance from Ask Me Why was the most irredeemable hero ever until I met Ford. This guy is a thorny cactus wrapped in thick concrete walls with the strongest aloof, leave-me-alone vibes I’ve ever seen. To borrow a term from the precocious Millie, he’s a great big “meanie.”
Keegan is a single mother who returns to Silo Springs with her young daughter, Millie. Having sworn off men, Keegan is focused on her daughter and her career. A chance meeting between Millie and Ford brings him into their orbit, and while Keegan isn’t interested, Millie is quite taken with Ford.
If I wasn’t already invested in these characters, Ford meeting Millie in the woods and the scene that follows would have cinched it for me. Millie is wise beyond her years, but she’s a shy little girl who doesn’t speak until she knows someone very well. But with Ford she’s a chatterbox and takes to him right away. And Ford, who doesn’t seem to like anybody, falls for his little Peep in a minute, and their interactions are some of the best scenes in the book.
With carefully, beautifully crafted characters that are realistic and flawed but effortlessly relatable, they become such a part of the reader that she experiences every feeling and sentiment right along with them, and it’s pure magic. Add in a storyline brimming with heart, emotion, and the perfect amount of angst, and this book reads itself. Full of feeling with a sprinkle of humor and a dose of steam, this phenomenal, extraordinary, memorable read will leave it’s indelible mark and is definitely not to be missed!
3.5
This was a much anticipated book for me as soon as I read the synopsis. I wasn’t blown away like I thought I would be. But I still enjoyed my first Harloe Rae book.
I felt it really wasn’t much of enemies to lovers… but that’s probably still the best trope for it. Keegan has walls around her heart for good reason. But I feel she often is snippy for no reason towards Ford. And same goes the other way around. I know Ford is fighting his own demons but he unnecessarily snaps at Keegan frequently that just sets both of them off.
I truly loved the relationship that Ford and Millie built though. To see that little girl blossom truly warmed my heart something fierce.
The last few chapters had my heart hurting for Ford. He deserved to be so happy and was often crushed. I’m so glad they were all able to have their happily ever after. The epilogue solidified that for us, and it was too cute!
Enemies-to-Lovers, small town romance, a hot brooding biker and a sassy single mom. What could be better?
Ford is the towns broody bike mechanic. He‘s a loner through and through.
Keegan a single mother to the cutest little Girl moves to Silo Springs after another failed relationship. Obviously she didn‘t anticipate finding her love in this town.
Keegan and Ford are enemies from the start but their chemistry is of the charts! Keegan is a strong, independant mom. They butt heads all the time and that‘s what makes this story really great.
I loved all the characters. Their story is amazing. Both main characters had alot of pain in their past but somehow they rise from that.
The writing was amazing. I fell in love with all of them so quick. And Millie is sooooo cute

ARC kindly provided in exchange for an honest review.
Loner was my first time reading Harloe Rae’s writing and it won’t be my last. This title is an enemies to lovers, small town romance that whilst sexy is also quite angsty and emotional.
Crawford ‘Ford’ is an enigmatic motorcycle mechanic who craves solitude. He’s a brooding, moody hero, who is quite closed off and before Keegan and her spunky, shy and sassy daughter enter his life he doesn’t actually realise he’s lonely.
Keegan is a feisty single mother doing her best to provide for her young daughter Millie. She’s strong, sassy but very cautious when it comes to not only her heart but her daughter’s as well.
This pair of characters are incredibly complex, with demons from their past, that continue to haunt their present, which determines their choices and actions. Their banter is argumentative and often oozes sexual tension and the chemistry between this pair is off the charts.
I thoroughly enjoyed this intense and angsty read and look forward to reading more of Harloe’s work in the future.
