One night can change it all. One argument can leave you reeling. A look can take you to a place you can never return from again. What happens when one day, you wake up and find your world has been turned upside down? The person you love is gone. The life you thought you’d have is no longer one you see being able to get back to. You lost the one person you loved more than anything. They tell you … you to move on, try. For them. It’s what they would want. But is it really? So I try.
This time, will be different. I slowly start to put the shattered pieces of my heart back together, only to have it broken again, by someone I thought I trusted. My heart’s barely healed, my world just starting to make sense again, when tragedy and devastation strikes. My circumstances leave me asking one question… Is it worth the risk to love again?

“Can a heart that wasn’t healed to begin with be this shattered?”
That is probably one of my favorite quotes in this book.
The Lonely Girl tore open my heart and left me feeling so emotional! Becca has been through more tragedy than the normal human being should go through.
Her protective older brother has convinced her into going to his college for her freshman year. Becca is a lonely girl and she carries a lot of guilt from her past with her. When she starts going to school she finds her self stuck in a love triangle. During this time Becca realizes that her life has been a lie!
This book has so much heart warming moments but it also has so much heartbreak, jaw dropping moments, betrayal, suspense, twists and turns that I guarantee you won’t see coming.
I feel like I just got off a emotional roller coaster and I loved every second of it.
This was Gracie Wilson’s debut novel and I was so impressed. I highly recommend checking it out for yourself!
This one did end on a cliffhanger and I immediately purchased the second book so I could find out what happened next!
Oh and I can’t decide if I’m team Keegan or Jake or neither one of them!
I was given this ARC from the author for a fair and honest review.
This author is new to me and after reading The Lonely Girl, I will definitely checking out more of her work!
From the get-go this book is emotional and pulled me right in. The trauma and heartache that Becca experiences at the beginning of the book is enough to drop any body to their knees but with a fresh start at university with her brother, will things get better in time?
With the help of her brother and his two friends, Jake and Keegan she settles into university life……but somebody isn’t finished with her yet. Good God, my heart and my mind were all over the place as the hits just keep coming for Becca……and that cliffhanger?!!!! Sweet baby Jesus!! I think I may need a minute before I dive into Book Two!
I cant decide if I loved this story or hated it. I really liked the idea of the story and the writing its very fast paced and sucks you in I just didn’t like Becca she had a lot of issues and yes she was very depressed. He brother and his friends were awesome at getting her back into the world of the living. She had so much trouble because her boy friend and best friend died she didn’t know how to move on with life.
One minute she was fierce and amazing the next she was crying and cant do anything with a man by her side. I was very confused with Jake and Keegan. I really didn’t get the dynamics of those two. I think that she would have made a better couple with Jake but they kept insisting they were best friends but it seemed like there were so many mixed signals.
Keegan was a loose cannon the whole way through the book I was not a fan of him and how he acted.
I did love her brother and how fierce he protected her and wanted to see her live a life worth living. There were a lot of tears In this book. It ends on a cliff hanger I do want to read the second one and see where Becca goes. I think she is a very broken character but I think she brings a lot of it on herself. I am not a fan of the battered helpless female characters. I like a fierce girl who can take care of herself not a needy one.
