Jacob Dalton has carried guilt and fear with him for a very long time but he is helping out at the school his brother Gabe is building to feel like he is making up for something. When he meets Vanessa he can’t help but feel some sort of connection to her but he isn’t sure what but it’s the first time he has felt anything in a long time.
Vanessa is back in town after being gone for ten years and she has a new job and a home of her own but not her family. When she and Jacob meet at the school they are both shocked that they are seeing each other again but Vanessa feels something there but she is trying to take care of herself not get involved. Jacob saved her years ago but does she have the strength to save him now?
This story touches on the same feelings just from different angles and it was interesting how each character dealt with the feelings they were fighting.
