She needed a fresh start… upon anyone. The pain of losing it all is still too fresh. Not to mention, in Ram’s world, the women submit themselves body and soul.
He wasn’t looking for love…
Former Army Ranger, Ramsey O’Malley, is not looking for a long-term commitment from a woman beyond a scene or two at Club Underworld. He doesn’t have the time nor the inclination to begin something he cannot finish, not as a single dad with a thriving psychology practice. Except, he is drawn to his newest patient. She’s forbidden, like the apple in the garden of Eden, and all he wants to do it take a bite.
But they could not deny their desire…
When Sadie makes a surprise appearance at Club Underworld looking to take a walk on the wild side, Ram knows he cannot let another man have her. He wants to be the one to introduce her to submission. But can he convince her to submit? And will just one night be enough?
Publisher’s Note: This steamy contemporary romance contains elements of power exchange.

Will Sadie and Ram discover a future together despite their pasts
Sadie has PTSD from when she is the lone survivor of a car accident that killed her husband and parents. When she has an episode at the hospital where she works, the doctor refers her to his friend, Ram to help her with her PTSD. At Sadie’s first session with Ram, he senses the submissive in Sadie, but buries it deep because their can be no relationship with a patient. Yet, when Sadie walks in to Club Underworld, Ram introduces her to his world as her temporary dom. What follows are some steamy scenes and Sadie learning to start her life over, but what happens when Sadie’s secret comes to Ram’s attention? You have to read to find out and won’t put the book down until you turn the last page.
Tough issue showcased in this one.
Sadie is the lone survivor from a car accident and Ram is the doctor who is trying to help her, but Ram was broken when he got out of the service so he understands better than somewhat she is feeling. There was an insta-attraction but both keep it to themselves. That is the set-up for the sub/dom story but wow there is a lot more to the story than that. This is a powerful read that is touching on some issues that people face every day. It was an amazing piece and I highly recommend it. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
It’s been a while since a book pulled me in and wouldn’t let me go, but this one totally did. I’ve read several of this author’s series and each one seems to be better than the last.
This one introduces us to Club Underworld and more specifically Sadie Montgomery and Ram O’Malley. Sadie is struggling to come to terms with a tragedy that left her all alone in the world, while Ram struggles to let anyone in to his heart. The characters were really well written and very likeable. My heart broke for them as they struggled to come to terms with their pasts and move forward. The story itself was very well written and very tough to put down. I loved this first book of the new series and look forward to many more in the series.

Loved the characters and plot in This story. It’s about overcoming the guilt of being the only surviver of your family and how to overcome. This is a standalone but I wouldn’t mind more

Then she applies to become a foster parent so Grace will have a home when she is discharged from the hospital. She and Ram still have a few misunderstandings that need ironing out. Nicely written and very enjoyable read.

A new series called Crescent City Kings, a well written story. This is ICU Nurse Sadie Montgomery and Former Army Ranger, Ramsey O’Malley’s story, I really enjoyed reading this book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
A incredible moving book of loss and trying to find the vehicle to move on. Anya Summers deserves high praise for the subjects touched in this book. It was an incredible read.
You will enjoy the struggle of Sadie Montgomery as she tries to get a foothold on life after a major trauma and Ramsey O’Malley the man who she was sent to for help but she ended up saving too!
I found this book to be interesting. The characters are well developed. The storyline captured my attention and kept it throughout.

Lone Survivor by Anya Summers is a beautiful written, tragic novel about loss and love. The book focuses on ICU Nurse Sadie Montgomery, a woman with a tragic past who has moved to New Orleans after losing both her husband and parents in tragic circumstances. Here she crosses paths with Ramsey Ram O’ Malley, a former Army Ranger who now works as a psychologist and is a Dom from Club Underworld. Both of them meet and passion is ignited and when Sadie makes a surprise visit to Club Underworld, Ram knows that he may never let her go.
This is a really sweet, amazingly written book which focuses on loss, guilt, PTSD, survival and love. Sadie and ram’s relationship isn’t easy, mainly due to past and present baggage, misunderstandings and misconceptions that they have about each other. It’s nice to see the development of their relationship throughout the book and it comes across as really honest and at times really brutal in what both characters are feeling or have felt due to others and their own emotional baggage. The story has a lot of side stories which are really interesting and it really shows an almost ‘real life balance’ that these two characters have throughout the book. PTSD scenes are handled with care and compassion and it really makes you think about those who do suffer from this debilitation illness.
The sexy scenes are amazing between the two characters. There’s a lot of dirty talk, passion, spanking etc. Everything that you want from a BDSM scene and it leaves you wanting more. Scenes between Sadie and other members of Club underground are really interesting and I would definitely like to see them in more books…hint, hint.
This was a really enjoyable, emotional roller-coaster ride of a novel and a must read for those who like a sexy read with some real life action too.
ARC received for a fair and honest review.

There’s nothing better than an erotic romance that gives you depth in its characters and in its plot, and Summers delivers that masterfully in Lone Survivor. Sadie and Ram both have major issues to address from their past and present if they’re ever going to come together for the long term, and Summers gives a logical and gradual evolution to their relationship that makes you believe in them as a couple.
I loved that both of them were flawed, with challenges that weren’t solved through one conversation. But I particularly liked that each was the source of their own salvation—they had to grow in confidence and comfort in themselves to become the person they needed to be for one another. Add to it a nice number of highly sensual scenes, and you have a great read.
There are a few drawbacks in Lone Survivor. Ram and Sadie experience a fair degree of insta-lust, and Ram in particular takes some actions that go against the ethics of his job. While those are immediately acknowledged, it would have been even better to hold off any activity between Ram and Sadie until he’d addressed that. For an emotionally mature book, Summers sometimes used juvenile terms for human anatomy (Doodle? Pecker? Really?). These could easily be replaced with more adult terminology. And I really had to wonder if a BDSM club would fall under a category for Yelp reviews.
But these are relatively minor issues in a really excellent book. Summers has created one of her best in Lone Survivor. Let’s hope the rest of this new Crescent City Kings series equals the quality of this book!
This is a second chance romance for Ram and Sadie. Sadie is leaving so much pain. She’s just lost her parents and her husband and as the lone survivor she’s losing the will to move on. She pulls a map out and finds a different place to move from the memories of her life. She meets Ram who is her counselor. Ram finds that he is very attracted to Sadie but he lives a different kind of live style than she does. When he finds her at his club that seems to be the clue Ram the Dom decides that Sadie will be his submissive. Ram introduces Sadie to her submissive side and they find out that they have lots of things going for them. Really great story. New series started nicely.
It is a little bit different as other books in this genre by Anya Summer.
The relationship between D/S started unusual, not from starting point, but jump right to the middle. Going backwards and finally move forward with fast pace.
Also both of them were suffering from PTSD and even Sadie was sub,she had more guts than Ram. She definitely stand her ground and could voice her opinion.
Crazy journey with HEA. Enjoy reading!

This was a great story! Sadie has moved to New Orleans after the tragic death of her parents and husband in a car accident where she was the only survivor. She meets Ram, the psychologist she starts seeing for her PTSD. Of course, they are attracted to each other and when they decide to scene together at a BDSM club, Sadie needs a new psychologist. I love the way they interact and the way that Ram has to work for her love. There is a HEA and I’m looking forward to more books in this series! Since I have devoured every book Anya Summers has published, I am thrilled she’s started this new series, Crescent City Kings. The first couple introduced is Ramsey (Ram) and Sadie, both lone survivors, both horribly damaged, both searching for redemption. These two characters are well written, compelling, and the chemistry is intense. The story is well paced and a page turner from start to finish. I love the way we are slowly introduced to Ram’s friends and business partners and can’t wait to see what’s in store for the other Crescent City Kings.

Boy did this book make you break out with all the feels. Sadie is a broken woman when she moved to the Crescent City, working as an ICU nurse. After an episode of PTSD, she begins seeing psychologist, Ramsey, who she finds she has feelings for that she thought died the night of her trauma. A mix of professional ethics but unrelenting desire hits both Sadie and Ram when Sadie goes to Club Underworld to see if BDSM might be exactly what she’s looking for. Ram happens to be a Dom and part owner of the club and they meet again, but under very different circumstances. Ram decides Sadie is going to be his submissive and Sadie wouldn’t have it any other way. Ram introduces Sadie to her submissive side and takes on her training. The trauma Sadie survived is what she needed to work on, but she and Ram have so much more going for them. There are many more complications and other people involved in their lives that just keep coming into the mix. There is plenty of love and warm, caring people surrounding the couple who have many barriers that need to be worked on, but all are very interesting and I see potential for many more books involving quite a few of the other characters we meet in Lone Survivor. I loved this first book of the Crescent City Kings!
A story of loss, of healing and finding purpose again. Sadie is trying to pick up the pieces of her life after losing everything but dealing with PTSD has limited her in opening up to nee experiences and relationships, until ordered to seek professional help where she meets Ram who opens her eyes and heart to so many new things. I love the storyline as it is so real, the angst that comes with loss and suffering with guilt you really feel the characters. The new club with the founding member I cant wait to read more about. But her introduction to the lifestyle is healing in it’s own right and so engaging. Cant say enough good things about how this book made me feel and how much I enjoyed it.

I loved this book. Hope this is a new series. This author knows how to write heart and soul into her books. The reader gets emotionally involved with the characters and their circumstances.
Sadie is an ICU nurse who survived a car crash that killed her husband and parents two years ago. She has been diagnosed with PTSD and has an attack after losing a patient with a similar accident. She is forced to take a leave from work until cleared by a psychologist to come back. Ram is the psychologist she sees. He is a former Army Ranger, amputee and PTSD specialist. He accidentally drops a card for Club Underworld during their session and she is intrigued. She fibs her way into the members only part of the club and Ram takes her home and introduces her to the BDSM lifestyle. They agree to have him train her for two weeks. They fall in love with each other but before they can change their arrangement their relationship blows up over his ex wife wanting to move his two kids to London and Sadie getting accepted as a foster for the little girl from the accident. He interrupts her scene in the club to declare himself and collar her. They finally get their HEA and the little girl gets a new family.
