Lone Star Christmas Witness by Margaret Daley is the fifth book in her Lone Star Justice series by Love Inspired Suspense. Six-year-old Ben Markham is the sole survivor of a mass shooting and the only witness. Now, Texas Ranger Taylor Blackburn must protect little Ben and his aunt, Sierra Walker. With Christmas right around the corner can Taylor keep them all safe so they can celebrate the holidays together? This story was very fast-paced and sweet, even though at times it was predictable. I still enjoyed it. The love shown little Ben by his aunt was very sweet and enduring. I liked getting to know Taylor and sharing in his past heartaches. I would definitely recommend this book.
I received this book from the author in exchange for my honest review.
This book is simultaneously heartbreaking and uplifting. There was a mass shooting at the medical clinic where young Ben was the only survivor. The shock of the event (where his mother was murdered) left him mute making him unable to give Texas Ranger Blackburn any information about the shooter. The Ranger and his team worked with Ben’s aunt Sierra to figure out who the culprit was. Sierra also worked at the clinic but, luckily, was not there at the time of the shooting. I loved the way everyone was concerned about Ben and tried to make him feel safe. Sierra handled her new guardian job well. Even though she was grieving the loss of her sister, she put Ben’s feeling first.
What a fantastic read!!! I love a great story that holds me captive. This book does it with a mixture of suspense, surprises, and romance. A perfect combination!
Lone Star Christmas Witness is now my favorite book that Margaret Daley has written! It is packed with heart, healing of past and present hurts, and some very harrowing situations for the characters.
The book jumped right into a horrible situation with the beginning of the first chapter, the aftermath of a mass shooting. The author handled this difficult scenario with grace, while also allowing the reader to experience the emotions that both of the main characters felt as they entered the scene.
I was intrigued as Texas Ranger Taylor Blackburn and his team worked with Sierra Walker to piece together the who and why of the shooting. It was fascinating to watch their process and discover who the perpetrator was.
Throughout all of this, there was a very traumatized little boy, Ben, who stopped speaking the moment of the shooting. The care and love that all of the characters showed for him and the way they tried to help him feel safe added a lot of heart to the story.
I enjoyed this book from start to finish and loved the wonderful epilogue at the end!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

Lone Star Christmas Witness ( Lone Star Justice )
By: Margaret Daley
Lone Star Christmas is a Love inspired Suspense and a must read. I was grabbed at the start and could not put it down. This is a Lone Star Justice Series, but Lone Star Christmas Witness is a stand a lone read. A young boy is the star witness to a mass murder at a medical clinic. Texas Ranger Taylor has his hands full on this one. Can he keep little Ben and his aunt safe? The author has weaved suspense and heartwarming story that will touch your heart. There are twist, turns, and action around Christmas time. I was on the edge of my seat trying to read faster to see what was going to happen next. I felt sorry for little Ben , and at times I had tears in my eyes and holding my breath . Will Texas Ranger Taylor find the answers to who and why is behind this mass murders?
I was given a complimentary copy of this book, but was not told that I had to give a positive review. All opinions are my own.
Author Margaret Daley has crafted a story that fits in with current events happening throughout our nation. The scene opens with a mass shooting at a medical clinic. Texas Ranger Taylor Blackburn must safeguard the sole survivor and witness, seven-year-old Ben Markham. Ben’s aunt, Sierra Walker, has helped raise him. So, now that his mother, Sierra’s sister, is one of the victims, Sierra will be his sole caretaker. As Ranger Blackburn works tirelessly to piece the puzzle together, will he be able to protect Ben from the perpetrator and his heart from Sierra? This author has a unique way of spinning a suspenseful thriller. Just when you think you know how the story turns out, you realize you got it wrong. Sprinkled throughout the pages is a thread of forgiveness and hope. Author Margaret Daley writes exciting romantic suspense. Don’t miss this one!
I received a complimentary copy of the book. The opinions are my own.
Another fantastic book by Margaret Daley. If you like good clean mystery, suspense, intrigue, romance, page turners and Happy endings, I recommend this book. No added nonsense and great story line and characters.
This story is “ripped from the headlines”! The first chapter grabs you and saddens you immensely but at the same time you HAVE to read it! It’s a mass shooting at a doctor’s office and the only one left alive is a little boy who has hidden himself where the shooter didn’t see him. From there, the book doesn’t slow down! Taylor Blackburn is the Texas Ranger who arrives on scene. The little boy, Ben, is so sweet but he sees him mother gunned down in front of him and that makes him stop speaking. Through the whole book he doesn’t speak and my heart was totally broken for him! His aunt, Serena, becomes his guardian and she is grieving just as much as Ben. This story was so gut-wrenching to me. I couldn’t read it fast enough! With so many mass shootings in the news, we rarely hear about the people that are witnesses or those left behind or the law enforcement that have to work the case. This book deals with all those people and it was great! I found it fascinating. I readily recommend it.
I received this book from the author but wasn’t required to review it. These thoughts and opinions are my own.
Loved every minute of this clean and wonderful romance ,and you will too!
