The first three full-length novels in Lucy Parker’s delightfully charming London Celebrities series, available together for the first time. “If there is a queen of banter award, it definitely should go to Ms. Parker… Wit, snark and a good comeuppance are a delight for fans of romantic comedies.” –Harlequin Junkie ACT LIKE IT This just in: romance takes center stage as West End … in: romance takes center stage as West End theatre’s Richard Troy steps out with none other than castmate Lainie Graham
Richard Troy used to be the hottest actor in London, but the only thing firing up lately is his temper. We all love to love a bad boy, but Richard’s antics have made him Enemy Number One, breaking the hearts of fans across the city.
Have the tides turned? Has English rose Lainie Graham made him into a new man?
Sources say the mismatched pair has been spotted at multiple events, arm in arm and hip to hip. From fits of jealousy to longing looks and heated whispers, onlookers are stunned by this blooming romance.
Could the rumors be right? Could this unlikely romance be the real thing? Or are these gifted stage actors playing us all?
PRETTY FACE
It’s not actress Lily Lamprey’s fault that she’s all curves and has the kind of voice that can fog up a camera lens. She wants to prove where her real talents lie–and that’s not on a casting couch, thank you. Luc Savage has respect, integrity and experience. He also has it bad for Lily. He’d be willing to dismiss it as a midlife crisis, but this exasperating, irresistible woman is actually a very talented actress. Unfortunately, their romance is not only raising questions about Lily’s suddenly rising career, it’s threatening Luc’s professional reputation.
The course of true love never did run smooth. But if they’re not careful, it could bring down the curtain on both their careers…
MAKING UP
Once upon a time, circus artist Trix Lane was the best around. Her spark vanished with her confidence, though, and reclaiming either has proved…difficult. So when she’s unexpectedly thrust into the spotlight, the joy over her sudden elevation in status is cut short by a new hire on the makeup team.
Leo Magasiva: disgraced wizard of special effects. He of the beautiful voice and impressive beard. Complete dickhead and–in an unexpected twist–an enragingly good kisser.
When it comes to commitment, Trix has been there, done that, never wants to do it again. And Leo’s this close to the job of a lifetime, which would take him away from London–and from Trix. Their past is a constant barrier between them.
It seems hopeless.
Utterly impossible.
And yet…

The writer Lucy Parker is one of my favourite writers and I love her ‘London Celebrities’ series. I have read and bought each book separately.
BOOK 1 : ACT LIKE IT (4,5 stars)
I had heard many great things about this book before I read it and after reading it I must agree with all the other readers. ‘Act like it’ is a fun read. it was really good writing, I only found the beginning of the book a bit confusing. As a reader you are introduced to a lot of new characters in a short amount of time. But the moment I knew who everyone was, I really got into the story and I just loved it. Lainie was a really lovely character, she was nice but she didn’t let people walk all over her. The relationship between Lainie and Richard is slowly built and I really liked that. Through the story you get to know Richard better and you can understand why he is, who he is. I like the fact that the story takes place in the West End, it’s a nice difference from the Hollywood scene.
The story is told from both POV’s, there’s no cheating and it’s just a fun and lovely story.
BOOK 2 : PRETTY FACE (5 stars)
Lucy Parker did it again. She made me fall in love with her new book! I enjoyed this book just as much as the first one. I’m so happy about it because after ‘Act like it’ my hopes were very high but Lucy Parker didn’t disappoint!! Just like the first book, this story takes place in the West End of London. Something that I really enjoyed. No Hollywood dramas here, only some English ones. Just like the first book, it took me a little bit to come into the story but once I was in, I was really into it.
Although Lucy Parker wrote about a theme that has been used for many books (younger woman falls for older man), she gave it a fresh touch. I find her stories refreshing, they are filled with humor and emotions. I just love it. The main characters Lily and Luc are really great. The POV’s are told from both side. One of the things that I like in my books is the story behind the scenes, behind the fame and glamour. The hard work, the offers that you have to make, the stress and the fear of failing. Something that I all found in this book.
BOOK 3 : MAKING UP (4,5 stars)
I found it very interesting that although the story again took place in the West End theatre world, this time it was about a circus artist Trix and makeup artist (specialized in special effects) Leo. The chemistry about them was hot and sparkling in every way. In the beginning when they acted like enemies and during the story when the dynamic between them changed from enemies to lovers. Both characters were very likeable, Trix was this energetic, sparkling, bright personality and Leo was more calmer, intelligent and encouraging. In the story you get both POV’s.
It was great that we saw Lily and Luc from the previous story again. And Trix and Leo’s friends and roommates were great second characters too.
This was another great book in a wonderful series.
This entire series is *so* wonderful! Lucy is the wittiest author I’ve ever read and two of my favorite romances, ever, are from this series: Pretty Face and The Austen Playbook. She’s hilarious, her settings are incredible, her dialogue is unmatched, and the romance itself is swoon-worthy. I highly recommend the entire collection!
A very enjoyable trio of books set in the theater world of London’s West End. Eiach story stands alone, but characters from each novel entwine into the other books. Great characterization and a fascinating look at the behind-the-scenes world of life theater. And of course, Romance
I absolutely loved this series. The first book was my favorite but they were all great. I’ve not read anything by this author before. It’s always a thrill when you a find a book you love an author you can get lost in, which these books had in spades!!
