Loki Grant’s first memories are of living in a crate behind an inn in Ayr, struggling to survive. Clan Grant saved him from his lonely existence and took him in as one of their own. But though the Highlands have become his home and he loves his adopted parents, Brodie and Celestina, Loki feels lost. Part of him is still that scrappy wee lad who relied on his wits to survive the streets, and he is … is not sure he belongs. The feistiest and most beautiful lass in the clan, Arabella, steals his heart, but when her father resists the match because Loki is not of clan blood, Loki decides to confront his past. He wishes to satisfy Bella’s father by discovering his parentage, but he also hopes his quest will help him understand his purpose.
As far as Arabella is concerned, Loki Grant is the wiliest, brawest, and most handsome warrior in existence. She is determined to have him as her husband regardless of what her father thinks. So when Loki’s search for his sire leads him into trouble, she rushes headlong after him.
Together, Loki and Arabella must discover the dark secrets of Loki’s origins, for only by confronting the past can they hope for a bright future together.

I love this series and highly recommend it to anyone who likes a romance and exiting conflict resolution.
Great book!
Had not read this author before- now I can’t wait to purchase the next!
Loki, was an interesting read for me. The character Loki brings out the readers mothering instinct and the need to help him find peace and feel worthy of another’s love, a must read!
I loved reading this book. It gave great insite into what it might have been like in the 13th century.
I liked it.
I always love these clan stories.
I liked the original plot idea of this story. Loved the characters and the happy ending.
I did not care for this one, couldn’t keep me interested
Good
Slow moving. Too many stories trying to tell. Author needed to pick a storyline and stick with it. Good stuff here, just too much at once.
My heart went out to Loki..I have read the first books about the parents…so I already knew his background. Like so many of us today, he always secretly feels like he doesn’t really fit in or isn’t loved as much as he so wants to be.
In the end, our dear boy has finally found his place of belonging. Sometimes it’s right before our eyes and we just don’t see it.
I loved this story of Loki and Bella.

It flows and presents some interesting twists, kept me reading and wanting more. Thoroughly enjoyable
I have really gotten into the Highland series by Kiera Montclair. They are refreshing and well writing. I plan to read several more. Take a chance and read one. Most are 3.99 but a few are free.
I couldn’t put it down.
Good story line. Not too maudlin
enjoyable read
A great highland story with romance. Loki starts out feeling unworthy of his adopted but previledged life. Falling in love but not feeling he cannot provide for her appropriately he suffers. The trials Loki goes thru to prove his worth and being successful is heartwarming. A must read for those who love highlander culture and romance.
