“I feel like I’ve been wearing blinders for my entire life and now they’ve been ripped off and everything’s too bright – too harsh. Part of me wants them back so I only have to see what’s right in front of me.” –LoganAfter Logan Bradshaw’s dreams go up in smoke, he’s left broken and haunted by a cruel betrayal from his former business partner, a man he once thought of as a friend. His life as a … friend. His life as a professional escort helped pay for his future once, so maybe a few more jobs can give him back what he’s lost. And if that means being a third for one night for a wealthy couple living out a ménage fantasy, then so be it. It might just be the final payout he needs to get his life back on track.
Dominic Barretti has everything money can buy, but it can’t save his beautiful young wife as cancer steals her away from him. He also can’t deny her one last request – a ménage encounter with another man. It’s the perfect excuse to meet the man who’s been haunting his dreams. On paper, Logan is the perfect choice to give his wife what she needs, but he doesn’t expect his own fierce desires to flare up when the young man enters their lives.
Dom and Logan don’t know it, but Sylvie Barretti has decided to play matchmaker from beyond the grave. Unfortunately, getting two broken men to find each other makes dying seem like the easy part.
Logan can’t deny his attraction to Dom, but the surprise desire for another man has left him reeling and questioning everything he’s ever known about himself. But when a threat from the past surfaces, will Logan be able to let go of the life he knew and embrace the one he needs?
Note: This book contains M/M sexual content and is intended for mature audiences
This is Book 3 in the series, but can be read as a stand-alone story – no cliffhangers. However, more enjoyment can be gained by reading the series in order:
Book 1 – Gabriel’s Rule (M/F)
Book 2 – Shane’s Fall (M/F)
(Note: Logan’s Need DOES contain spoilers for events first presented in Books 1 & 2)

As a new reader of Sloane Kennedy’s books, I asked for recommendations from her readers on Facebook regarding which book I should start with. Many of them suggested Logan’s Need, which I purchase and quickly read. All I can say is thanks for the perfect recommendation!
Logan’s Need could as easily have been called Dom’s Need, as both protagonists existed in damaged states that desperately needed healing. (And, as it turns out, the specific healing necessary could only be provided by each other.) It is an angsty love story, chock full of conflict and heat, which kept me turning pages. I found myself pulling for the unlikely couple, knowing that they belonged together, even when they didn’t. But Logan’s Need is more than a story of passionate love and self-discovery. It is romantic suspense. I found myself waiting for danger, and expecting to find it around every corner. And still, I was surprised when evil finally caught up with the characters!
This was the perfect story to read as I lounged on my patio, soaking up the sun. Logan’s Need was my first book by Sloane Kennedy, but it certainly will not be my last!
This book is gay smut with a bit of suspense and all the emotions. In other words, it’s quite delectable. There’s a grief-stricken widower, gay awakening bordering on GFY, nooky for days, a roller-coaster love story, sibling guilt, trauma handling and a crazy kidnapper/serial-killer.
This is great entertainment. It’s not epic. It’s not fabulous. But the writing is great and the story is juicy, so the overall result is a pretty satisfying read. And the cover picture, it’s so bloody delicious and beautiful I’d love to hang it on my wall.
Yes, it’s part of a series and no, I haven’t read the first two books, but Logan’s Need worked real well as a stand-alone. Sure, there were some referrals to previous events but they were explained well enough that I needn’t be confused.
So, there’s Logan. In a combined fire and shooting (previous book) he was shot in the chest and had to have heart surgery. He’s suffering from the events leading up to that trauma and he’s not in a good head space. Add to that his fire damaged bar and a huge hospital bill, he’s resorted to taking on new clients – a couple no less – working as an escort. Yes, that kind of escort. Only his clients, a married couple, affects him in a way he didn’t expect. Then the wife dies and letters from her are delivered to Logan. She asks him to seek out her husband, Dom, and Logan can’t make himself deny the request of a dead woman. Dom and Logan have the most intense chemistry. But Dom just buried his beloved wife and Logan has never been attracted to another man before. And as if that isn’t enough, the man who shot Logan and attacked his sister is back and he has set his sights on Logan’s family.
This is a short and quick read. There’s plenty of action and there’s no time to be bored. Still, even if it is fast-pacing, the story wasn’t rushed. You could of course argue that Logan’s and Dom’s connection happens too fast, and Dom did just bury his wife who he loved deeply. But there’s actually more to the story that will, sort of, make that part a bit more plausible. So it isn’t insta-love even though it definitely is insta-sizzle.
There were two pretty distinct sections of the story. The first is where the focus is on the relationship between Logan and Dom. Their emotions are all over the place and there’s lots of banging – the naughty kind. So that was nice. And then there’s the second part of the read when the killer/predator angle takes precedence. It was good to have that focus switch and that added action. However, I can’t say I really bought in to the reason Dom and Logan themselves went after the psycho, even if Dom owned a security firm.
What I didn’t like, and what made me slightly irritated, was the skewed guilt-tripping between Dom and Logan. Dom says the most horrible things to Logan. On more than one occasion. And Logan forgives him, just like that. But the one time Logan’s angry and says something hurtful, it’s supposedly so bad it’s the end of them as a couple? That was just silly.
But apart from that, this story is a steamy, fast-paced and action filled joyride. Simply put, great entertainment.

Audible. Also available via KU.
This one of those books that is best listened to when you want lot of grit, angst, & push/pull between the MCs as well as May/December and GFY themes.
Logan and Dom are both struggling with immense grief and colliding into a new relationship they both feel guilty about for a variety of reasons. Be ready for a roller coaster of emotions and engaging but sometimes OTT drama.
Michael Dean is fairly dramatic in this one. I tend to speed up the narration to avoid being annoyed by “pregnant pauses” and drawn out drama, but I still enjoy it and have listened to the series multiple times.
I know MM is Sloane Kennedy’s main focus, and this *can* be listened to without having read (SK’s MF books aren’t on audio, but they are in KU) Gabriel’s Rule or Shane’s fall – but you’re missing out if choose to skip those.
Her Escort, Finding, Barretti, & Protectors series are interconnected and you can find suggested reading orders on the author’s website. My personal preference is chronological/timing.
I read one of your book a long time ago but I kept reading his great your MM books were so i started at the beginning of the timeline with this one.
OMFG! I am beyond amazed. I would give this book 10 stars if I could.
What a fabulous writer she is! The storyline has me hooked. The sex scenes had me re-reading parts and wishing I wasn’t alone. My heart was breaking, my tears were flowing, I was smirking and I was smiling. And I still want more! So fabulous. You are among the top with MM books. I’m so glad because it’s one if my favorite genres along with MMF.
I thank Sloane for giving us Dom!
This was awesome! All the emotions, explosive chemistry, all the anguish while Dom and Logan tried to figure out if there could be a them. It was so painfully good. I breezed through this book, and surprisingly Sylvie’s involvement made it even better.
I must admit that this book is brilliant. So much angst from all directions. First, was Logan’s struggle with his own sexuality. It was beautifully written. Then Dom’s grief over death of his wife which was so profound I felt it coming off the pages. Then their mutual struggle to find themselves as a couple that was full of heartache and amazing intimacy. All the family dynamics that brought even more torment for Logan and Dom, and I loved it all!!! I highly recommend it!
I just loved this book and these 2 men. Logan’s Need really was beautiful but it had some heartbreaking moments as well. Dom and Logan were explosive together and simply perfect.
