As the best offensive defenseman in the NHL, you’d think my skills would get more notice than my face.Ridiculous, but I’ve been dubbed the “pretty boy” since rookie year.Pair the looks with my multi-million-dollar career, and it’s a recipe to get used.I’ve been burned before, and it’s never happening again. Then I meet Delaney Collins—Charleston’s impossibly sexy librarian. She’s brilliant, funny, … librarian.
She’s brilliant, funny, and the chemistry between us crackles every time we touch.
But she doesn’t have a clue who I am.
Delaney treats me like a normal person, seeing straight to the heart of me.
And all it wants is her.
Only problem?
She hates celebrity athletes.
Her own dark past has ensured she’ll never take a chance on one again.
But the deeper we get, the harder it is for me to admit what I do on the ice.
All I’ve ever wanted is for someone to love me for me—not the paycheck, the fame, or the face.
But I’m not sure love will be enough to save us when the truth comes out.

All Samantha Whiskey books are a treat. I anxiously wait for each book to come out. I love all the characters and they are each so different from each other.
Another fun, deliciously sweet, and entertaining addition to this series. Logan and Delaney were definitely a perfect match. I loved how they developed a beautiful friendship before anything else happened between them. This story was simply perfect.
Omg this book was just wonderful! Logan was so wronged by his ex that I hoped he would find the perfect girl for him. These characters are so wonderful you wish that you were apart of them. Logan is sweet, charming & swoony. Delaney is extremely broken from her ex. When she finally gives in to the chemistry between her & Logan is makes a wonderful read. I enjoy reading all of these characters, their love stories are so beautifully written that you will be pulled in & enjoying the ride wishing it would never end.
I highly recommend this book & series. Told in dual POV.
We had met Logan in earlier books. Dude’s taste in girlfriends sucked. She was the WORST. But I can see how that kind of person can be hatched. In this day of insta-fame via Instagram particularly (let’s tell our story with pictures) and how you can make a living just putting your face out there, Brooke the Bad was pretty authentic. So here we have this cute guy who has gotten away from Brooke the Bad, and he meets Delaney the Delight. She’ s witty, smart, but she hates athletes. Well, this is not auspicious.
So begins their story. Samantha Whiskey can create just the right amount of angst in her stories. I have enjoyed her series since the Seattle Sharks, and now the Carolina Reapers are no exception. Beginning with Axel, Sawyer, (both who had roles in the Seattle Sharks series) Connell (the lovely Scotsman SWOON), and now Logan. She manages to create new storylines and unique characters you remember long after the book ends. On the way, we get tantalizing teases about upcoming characters to go along with our Reaper we are falling for, along with keeping up with previous players.
Logan and Delaney are sweetly romantic, and I must ay Delaney gets Logan to read some cool books. Reading is for heroes and heroines!
Logan is the exciting new addition to the Carolina Reapers series by Samantha Whiskey. As with her previous books, I found myself unable to stop reading even though I knew I needed to get some sleep ready for work the next day. I loved seeing Logan and Delaney’s friendship slowly develop as they spent more time together, and boy was I happy when they finally took the next step because I’d been sat eagerly waiting for it to happen lol. I found myself able to relate to their worries and concerns after having had their trust broken by people they’d allowed to get close to them. I don’t think some people realise the damage their actions can leave (or maybe they just don’t care).
This is the fourth book of the series and all of them are worthwhile reads. Whilst they can be read as standalones and out of order, you’re definitely going to want to read them all as characters from each pop up in the others and you’ll want to know their stories of how they become couples. I’m excited to see who gets a book next and I’m hoping it’s Cannon along with Persephone because you can see something brewing between them. If you haven’t started this series yet, then don’t wait any longer because you won’t be disappointed!
*I voluntarily reviewed an advance complimentary copy of this book
Another amazing read in this series that I absolutely loved. Logan is so sweet and definitely will become your next book boyfriend. Delaney and Logan are absolutely perfect for each other but can one tiny white lie ruin their HEA? This story will have you hooked and rooting on Delaney & Logan. I can’t wait for Cannon’s book next especially after that ending.
Delaney and Logan are adorable. They took there time to be honest and show growth. Very steamy with a lovely edge of sweetness to their HEA.
Looking forward to Cannon’s book next.
I’ve loved Logan since we met him in the previous books and after his horrible ex I couldn’t wait for his book!
When Logan met Delaney at the library and she had no idea who he was it was great to see Logan be appreciated for all he was besides being a professional athlete, and it was fun watching Delaney be so clueless about how many Reapers she knew. Just like in every other Samantha Whiskey book I have read these two had wonderful chemistry and really enjoyed the friendship they formed before they became romantic.
Can’t wait to read the next one!!
The fourth book in the series that gets better and better. Logan and Delaney has chemistry like no other, their relationship starts off as friends but it blossomed to so much more when heat level rises and attraction can no longer be denied. I loved their story to finding a second chance at love where you least expect it, some drama and a whole lot of heat level makes this a must read sport romance. I can’t wait for the next story!
This is the 4th Book in the Carolina Reapers Series
This is the story of Logan & Delaney. Both have been used in the past, have a hard time trusting a person, and have both sworn off relationships. They meet in the library where she works when Logan goes with Cannon there. They become friends. Their chemistry is beyond anything they’ve ever known. This is an amazing love story. I loved reading and following along trying to be patient of when the big reveal would take place. It is definitely a page turner. I know readers will definitely enjoy this book. Samantha Whiskey, you really know how to keep a person’s interest. I am looking forward to the next book in this series.
Silence and Noise
Logan Ward is messed up because of a woman. Blaire did a number on him and he’s in no place to start a relationship. He’s all speed and noise, the Boy Scout of the Reapers.
So, when he meets the foxy redhead librarian Delaney, he doesn’t know what hit him. Heck, he’s even cracking open a book and reading (totally hot).
Thing is, she doesn’t know what he does for a living, cuz, she’s been burned before as well.
I loved good guy Logan, who just wants to be just Logan. He wants to be loved for who he is not a famous hockey player. And Delaney is his true match, she makes him be a better except for the part where he can’t tell her who and what he is.
Highly recommend.
4*
Logan meets Delaney at the library after his team mate Cannon calls to get a new book.
She’s been hurt before he’s been used before, both are getting over ex partners betrayal.
A friendship is formed, but so is the chemistry between them.
I loved Logan from the start his character just wanting to be seen as a person & Delaney the way she was fighting herself.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
Great story
This is my favorite of the Reapers books so far. A librarian and a hockey star? What’s not to love? It was fun and I highly recommend especially if you love the series. Usually a series can get monotonous but somehow this author pulls it off.
Looking forward to the next one.
Being the best offensive defenseman in the NHL comes with it’s benefits, but also comes with downfalls too, you never know if someone is being nice to you because of you or what you can give them. Unfortunately Logan knows all to well about the downfall part. His last girlfriend cared more about how many social media fans she could gain by posing for pictures with him, instead of his heart. So to say that he is a little apprehensive about getting involved again with a woman is a complete understatement…
But then a sexy, witty librarian comes wandering into his life, and makes him want to give love another try. She is everything he could want in a partner, and her intentions are pure. But she hates athletes… and that is a complication he has no idea how to handle!
Logan is a beautifully penned tale that centers around two souls that have all but given up on love, both have been burnt by it in the past and carry a lot of hurt in their hearts. But their meeting rattles something inside them that gives them hope that this time love won’t fail them, and watching them embrace it all was so good on the heart. Of course they had a few bumps to sort out, and old hurts to learn to let go of, which meant a few heart squeezing moments too… but worth it. I adored these characters, their story brought many smiles and swoons, and left my heart rejoicing. Highly recommend you meet these two their story will not only keep you entertained from start to finish, but also bring your heart joy!
I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher and I am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.
Every time one of Samantha’s hockey books hits my everything stops so I can devour it. Our boy Logan sure didn’t disappoint in the least. These Reapers are one family I wish I could join.
But one of my favorite things besides the swoony alphas she writes heroines strong enough to support them and have their backs.
Can I seriously move into Reaper Village?
5 Amazing Stars!!! The whole Reaper series…and this book in particular is absolutely amazing. Full of heartwarming banter, heartbreak, twists & turns, and heat !!! SO GOOD!!! It grabs your attention and interest from the first page. The characters and storyline was fascinating. Bravo!
Can love overcome stereotypes and broken hearts? Logan and Delaney have been burned by past relationships. A chance meeting in a library leads to a friendship that turns into something more. Delaney almost didn’t recover from the public blow that ended her relationship with a college football star and Logan ended his last relationship because she was more interested in the followers he brought her than who he is. Samantha Whiskey builds a story where two people struggle to get to know each other while hiding pieces of themselves. The struggle to get past past pain and betrayal cover the pages of this book. Their story takes the readers on twists and turn, breaks your heart and then mends it all. It is one of those stories that you want to read again and again. Another wonderful addition to the Shark/Reaper family.
Logan is a man scorned, one who is tired of being used for his fame, fortune and his good looks. When a book comes flying at his face he might have just stumbled across the one person who might see him for him. Delaney has her own issues and scars from trusting the wrong man which keep her from letting go. These two have a chemistry and a connection that you will feel soul deep. With secrets hovering over their heads, you will be kept on the edge of your seat, your heart will be in your throat and you will be holding your breath. A story that will touch your heart, have your eyes getting misty and heating you up from the inside out. If two people ever deserved a HEA, Logan and Delaney are it.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…
I don’t know how Samantha Whiskey does it. I fall for her characters EVERY TIME.
Logan and Delaney were awesome. It was sweet, hot and everything I had hope did for (plus some).
Passion, drama and lies run rampant in this book, that will have you not wanting to put it down -seriously, I didn’t adult at all while reading it.
Prepare yourself, you will be grinning like an idiot at the end because… Sweet baby Jesus, THAT ENDING! I need Cannon’s book NOW!
Logan Ward is nursing a failed relationship after being betrayed by his girlfriend and his faith in the ability to choose wisely is compromised.
His friendship with Cannon Price leads him to the local library where the resident librarian has demons of her own.
What starts as a beautiful friendship between Logan and Delaney is just the beginning of their love story. A story where trust doesn’t come easily. A story where omissions, not lies, break the hearts of the hero and heroine.
The lack of faith that Delaney has in what she knows, deep in her soul, about Logan overshadows her ability to see, and feel, the truth about their love for each other.
In true Samantha Whiskey style, Logan and Delaney DO find their HEA and we wouldn’t want it any other way than just how it’s presented. Heartbreak and misunderstandings can both be forgiven in the face of true love!
Logan and Delaney are my favourite Reaper couple so far. I can’t really put my finger on why that’s the case. Is it Delaney’s sense of humour? Is it Logan’s obvious love for his sister? Is it Delaney’s ability to choose just the right book that will capture Logan’s interest? Is it Logan’s new found love of reading? Is it the way Delaney interacts with Logan’s family?
In fact, it’s all these things and more! Logan is a must read and I’m betting that Cannon will be too!
