These Preston boys have me in knots. I love them fiercely. I started off with saying that I loved Lucas, but now I love Logan too just as much as I loved Lucas. These boys obviously come with their share of problems but they are all good boys. They grew up in a loving family and everyone knows who the Preston family is.
Logan has always given a bad impression around town. He was known as the bad seed of the family, never followed rules and would always go against what he was supposed to do. When Logan and Aubrey first meet their interactions had me completely giddy. I couldn’t stop laughing my butt off with their offensive banter back and forth against each other but it was so damn cute. I knew that moment that their connection was going to go better off than what it started off as.
I’m not going to get too much into the story other than Aubrey and Logan were made for each other. She was going to be his cure one way or another. They both have their fair share of things that they’re keeping from each other but when everything comes out to light, my heart was literally in my throat. Logan might have been a screwed up teen, but he’s always been a reliable person and an outstanding employee to his father and when him and Aubrey started dating, he was an outstanding boyfriend.
Logan gets 5 plus stars
There is true YA/NA magic that Jay McLean weaves with Logan. It’s almost as if she was destined to write about these imperfect Preston Punks, managing to elicit every single emotion possible from me and have me always desperate for more. There is this amazing rhythm McLean has developed that envelops me from the very first words and takes me on a journey that is unmatched in both feeling and thought. I walk away with my soul full and my heart put back together after enduring a pain that is at times unfathomable. But my love for Logan, for the entire Preston crew and for the quirky, adorable and exquisite Aubrey is undeniable and kept me hopeful even when all seemed lost.
This is the kind of book you must experience for yourself. The charm that is Logan is hard to resist and his being the middle of 7 siblings is the very basis imo of the whys of who is was, is and will be. Making sure he’s never the forgotten one, he has an air about him that is magnetic. The way he cares for his youngest brother in Lachlan is beyond endearing and is wonderful to watch. Their bond is strong and is strengthened even more so as Aubrey enters their lives. A delightful trio although unexpected, is what ultimately saves Logan in his darkest hour.
There are many layers to Logan Preston and as McLean carefully peels back each and every one, I couldn’t turn away even when it became almost too ugly to continue. I felt everything he endured as his past memories threaten everything he has with his ‘Red’, his Aubrey, and wanted to embrace him and keep him safe just like she did. These Preston boys have a way of getting under your skin and are written so realistically that their pain can’t help but become mine as well.
There is a twist that no one saw coming and I honestly didn’t know how Aubrey and Logan’s romance would ultimately survive. With his beloved ‘Mary’ always threatening to unseat any woman in his life, I wondered if Logan would ever be strong enough to resist her. But this Preston family is strong-willed and filled with a drive that is seemingly unstoppable. Logan just had to find his.
I was left in tears at the conclusion, my heart in my throat and not wanting this story to end. It is beyond beautifully-written and I am firmly in lust with this series. What you need to know is that this foul-mouthed, mayhem-inducing, loyal to a fault Preston family is the very definition of love and all the ugly and stunning that goes along with it. In my opinion, we, the readers along with Aubrey truly are the lucky ones and we didn’t even need a penny to prove it.
This book deserves eleventy-three stars…it is simply the best!
Logan is that guy … the one that does what he wants to do when he wants to do it and he’s often a jerk doing it. Everyone in the Preston family knows it and explains it as “that’s just Logan.” He also may have a drug problem. No one in the family has any expectations of him.
Aubrey comes to town looking to start over. Her last relationship ended very badly even though she gave it everything. She’s quirky and has a mind of her own.
From the moment they meet, Logan and Aubrey are oil and water. Their snarky banter is humorous. But one night, it all changes. Their underlying, red hot chemistry explodes. What starts as a one-night stand develops into much more. Can Logan step up and be the person worthy of Aubrey’s love? Can Aubrey commit to another guy who may not be able to give her the love that she deserves?
Logan and Aubrey have a long road filled with emotional baggage to get to their HEA. There’s a lot to be resolved before Logan and Aubrey can be happy as individuals and a couple. I enjoyed seeing how the entire Preston family is there to help and support these two.
Lachlan is the hero of this book. The little brother stole the show! I hope he eventually gets a book. I would love to see who his match is.
Fans of emotional reads will love this book. You will feel Logan and Aubrey’s pain — it is palpable and heart-wrenching. Get ready for all the feels! This book will take you through the wringer, but you will be rewarded at the end.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions expressed in this review are my own.

This story broke me. I have not shed tears like this in a long time. Took me some time to read so that I can compose myself reading it. Logan is the next Preston Brothers by Jay McLean to tell us his story. And what an emotional story it is. I absolutely fell in love with all the Preston brothers in book 1, Lucas, which I highly recommend reading these brothers in order. But Logan is an emotional journey I was not expecting.
I’m not going to rehash the story for Logan, as there is so much that I don’t want to give anything away. But Jay McLean has outdone herself with this. Her heart soul is poured out in these words of Logan’s tale. Her brilliant writing at it’s best.
You read the synopsis of the story but until you get to this part:
Until one girl, one night asks one life-changing question:
What’s beneath the bravado, Logan Preston?
This is the catalyst to the downfall or maybe the turning point for Logan. And what a moment that was!!!
Absolutely love this story and I can’t wait to read Leo’s story up next. Not sure how Jay McLean is going to be Logan, but I’m excited to dive in.
5 lucky stars
Gah this book was awesome !!
The Preston family are just so … THAT family everyone wants to be even though they have their fair share of crap in their lives .
And Logan and Aubrey . These two!!
Logan is the black sheep only the family , the one that is the middle child , doesn’t feel like they can do anything right is always honest and says what he’s thinking aaaaand has a drug problem.
Aubrey has moved to two breaking up with her ex boyfriend , she dresses her own way , says what she thinks and it such a perfect match for Logan . Their banter is fun and funny , and their chemistry obvious from the get go .
I love that these two ultimate save eachother. I love that Aubrey fills another part of the family that’s missing , I loved seeing Lachlan’s skill and little personality (and so hope he has his own book one day !!! – I want to read so much. More of this family and am so excited Leo is here , next up !!
My favorite brother out of the Preston clan, I was not expecting this book to shook me the way it did! I cried for 50% of it I just wanted to hug him and take his pain away! it was an incredible story as much as it hurt, I’m glad he overcame everything life threw at him!
I loved this book! Logan and Aubrey had an amazing connection and I loved the progression of their relationship. I also loved Lachlan’s relationship with Aubrey. I was definitely on the edge of my seat while reading this, but everything turned out fine!
It was extremely hard to seat down and write this review. Put all the feels on “paper”. Because Logan’s story really gave me deep feels. The book is very cleverly written, making a character out of something rather than someone. A very powerful character. The loneliness in the pages transfers out of them so effortlessly that it saddens you to see the characters struggling. This story touches on subjects like abuse, loss, neglect and addiction. But ultimately, the book steals your heart with how love, compassion and commitment overtakes any bad in Logan and Aubrey’s life. And the best part is that you as a reader don’t feel cheated out of the journey that it takes to get there. The road is very realistic. The ugly is in vivid colors and mending the bad takes time.
Logans pain and his brother’s pain broke my heart. His tendency to self destruct in order to avoid hurting directly the people he loves is admirable even when it’s not a completely thought through idea. His best intentions some times just don’t go through. In his mind he is the screwup on everyone’s eyes but he still wants to be better. He and Aubrey both have so much potential. Are so significant to others. They matter and they don’t realize it. They don’t know any better. But a very supportive and all in family, will slowly teach them. What a ride!!!
“The problem with wanting something, or someone, is that you can’t control how long you keep them for…”
Jay McLean is one amazing author!!! All her books are food for the soul; each one of them have such a strong message behind the whole story, in Logan’s book; we get the importance of a family support system, and how paying attentions to details say a lot about the struggles of one person. This book is AMAZING!!
Logan is the trouble boy of the Preston family; he has a very close relationship with drugs but nothing he cant control…until one day he can’t; and suddenly his entire world comes crashing and there’s no one who can truly understand the reasons behind all he does.
Aubrey is running away to a new start; and finding Logan is risky; he heart might not be able to survive him, he is the casual guy, you know the one who does what he likes when he likes and if he likes. And right now, he wants Aubrey but he’s not ready to keep her.
Logan Preston is a bad boy through and through, always in trouble and pushing boundaries, and always down for anything that takes him on the bad side of good. What no one knows is that this boy is harboring some serious secrets, ones that haunt him quite regularly and cause him to create havoc to quiet the noise in his head. He doesn’t do serious, doesn’t date, and definitely doesn’t do love… that is until Aubrey comes crashing into his world.
Logan is a heart-shredding tale that will have you swimming in emotion from beginning to end. Our hero is a wounded soul that is carrying around a lot of pain and has no idea how to ease it, so he hides it behind a cocky persona. He never lets anyone too close for fear they will learn the secret he is keeping, which also means he is a no attachments kind of guy. But then Aubrey comes along and she starts to push him past his comfort zone, makes him question things, and makes him feel things he never has… and it rattles him to his core. This one broke my heart, I could not imagine carrying around all that hurt inside and feeling like I had no one to turn to. I love watching the growth in these characters and see their love for one another unfold… what a beautifully penned story. If you like all consuming stories, with “all the feels” then I have no doubt you will love what you find between the pages here… Logan is bound to keep you captivated and swimming in feels the whole way through! Highly recommend!!

Um, whoa. I don’t even know where to start with this review. Logan had the kind of story I was NOT expecting. He’s the black sheep, the troublemaker of his family, but yet, there is something underneath all of that.
Logan and Aubrey have an interesting relationship to start off with, and as they get to know each other and things progress, they don’t necessarily get easier, but they slowly begin to be a bit understandable. Except for the wonder of why Logan is the way he is. And when that comes out, holy moly, not at all what I was expecting, but completely explains things.
Whilst this novel deals with many serious issues, it also has lots of really fun bits. Not just with Logan and Aubrey either. That kid Lachlan, oh my god. I cannot wait for him to grow up and get a book of his own. He’s probably my favourite Preston Brother and he’s only been a secondary character so far.
I love the whole dynamic of this family and I am really keen to read more. Bring on the release of Leo next month!
– 4.5 stars –
I can’t believe I put this book on my ‘Finish Later’ shelf last year. I had started it, but after 13% in I had decided to read something else. Fast forward a year later and I see that the author is releasing the third book (Leo) in this series, and I just had to go back and finish the book. I absolutely loved it. The banter between Logan and Aubrey in the very beginning was awesome. They were intentionally mean, but they both handled themselves perfectly. It is obvious that Logan is dealing with some childhood trauma, and he is using marijuana to handle it. He comes from a very big and super supportive family. They have let things slide for a very long time, but I wonder if that was the best direction to go with Logan.
Aubrey is new in town, and even though she comes across as strong and independent she has a lot of insecurities. It broke my heart how mean Logan was to her at times. I just couldn’t contain my tears during those scenes. I felt a very strong connection to Aubrey, and everything she felt I did as well. One of my favorite things about this book was Aubrey and Logan’s younger brother Lachlan’s friendship. It was just so pure and sweet, and I loved seeing these two interact. This book was such an emotional roller coaster. It had many ups and downs, and I cried and laughed with all the characters. It was great seeing what the characters from the previous books were up to. This book was fun, emotional, heartbreaking, sexy, and romantic. Jay McLean is just such a phenomenal author, and I can’t wait to read Leo’s book next.
Logan’s book took a course that I didn’t anticipate but it was written flawlessly and you totally understood why Logan was so far down the rabbit hole but that changed when he met Aubrey. These two hated each other in the beginning but also soothed each other’s erratic souls at the same time. I adored Aubrey, she definitely had her own sad story but was just so full of love, she wanted to live and move past the hurt and she was just what Logan needed even though he didn’t want it. What a rollercoaster of a book but I loved every page of it
Wow. I mean I’m completely speechless. Lucas was a hard book to read at times, it talked about domestic violence and that can be really hard to talk about but this book, this book was something so much more. It was breathtakingly beautiful despite how hard it was to read. The relationship between Aubrey and Logan was incredible. I mean I don’t want to give anything away about this book because it would just completely ruin it, but just know this book will be hard to read, you will cry ( have lots of tissues), you will be angry and may have to walk away for a bit and process, your heart will most definitely break, but in the end it will be put back together.
What I can talk about is how incredible these characters are. All of them and the addition of Aubrey only makes it that much better. Also can I just add in how awesome Lachlan is. I really hope that one day we get a book for him when he is all grown up. I cannot wait for Leo’s book! This really is a fantastic series. Five ++++ stars for Logan!
Man, oh man, was my heart put through the wringer. I didn’t know whether to laugh, cry, punch someone, or just sit down and give Logan a hug.
Logan has experienced a lot of childhood trauma. He tries to self medicate, but there is only so much a kid can handle before they break.
Aubrey is a independent person. She is out on her own trying to make it in a new town. Her determination and drive was remarkable.
These two together have that hate/love thing going on. Their banter and back and forth had me laughing so much. Aubrey doesn’t take any of Logan’s crap, and I feel like that is why he loves her that much more.
In true childhood trauma ways, Logan eventually self sabotages himself and things go sideways. During these moments, you won’t agree with anything, but I felt like I understood completely. I guess since I have studied a lot about childhood trauma his actions don’t seem that out of the ordinary. Jay portrayed his character perfectly, and the events that took place are usually very common.
As always this family is one of the best. They are so fun to be around and watching them interact with one anyone will make you want to be a part of them. I can’t wait to get my hands on Leo’s book. I feel like he is in for a rude awakening.

Jay McLean has become one of my favourite authors and the way she can captivate you with the words she writes is truly a wonderful gift. Every book I’ve read from her is an emotional rollercoaster and this one was no different. The ups and downs Lucas has gone through, the emotions and struggles that were there day by day made it even more real. A story that will rip out your heart but will also put it back together…
Aubrey is trying to build a new life but it’s not easy. When she meets Logan, they can’t seem to stand each other but the more they get to know each other, the more they are attracted to one another. But Lucas has dark secrets trying to pull him down every day and when a secret from Aubrey’s past collides into their own, it’ll take everything in them to overcome what’s seems broken…
I’ve finished to read this book in a day and now I’m so lost…I need a hug and more books about this beautiful family.
‘Little’ Logan’s Story
I have absolutely fallen in love with the entire Preston family since the More Than series. I really enjoy the progression through time with each story and the ties to all the characters. To really enjoy reading about the Preston Brothers and their tight family relationship. It is worth reading all 5 More Than books first, because you will appreciate/understand the more subtle details within the book.
Jay McLean has a way of interweaving all the characters, but at the same time makes each story unique to the character and their personalities. Can’t wait to hear from Leo, the twins and lastly, Lachy…
I laughed out loud many times. Loved the ‘mayhem’ pranks. I cried. I got angry and I got butterflies. Well done Jay! I hope to read another one soon!!
I don’t even know where to start with this review, I don’t hide I’m a huge fan of Jay Mcleans her writing is perfection and with every book it just get better and better.
I’ll be honest with this book it wasn’t what I was expecting at all and when it started I thought geez where is this going but not once did I want to put it down and every now and then there is a certain times when I thought what the hell has happened and I couldn’t put it down I just had to keep reading I needed to know.
This book has it all
Heartbreak
Destruction
Love
Hate
Laughs
Sadness
Happiness
This book tore me apart and put me back together. When it comes to the Prestons it’s like they are your family and when you get one of there books it’s like your in there world and you thought you knew everything about them but in true Jay fashion she turns your world upside down. The thing I love the most is that this family is one i will never forget and will love forever.
Well this book took me to a place I thought we would never go but Logan had so much hiding and I never expected him to be someone I would fall in love with in the previous books and in this book there was a part of me that kinda didn’t like him but I think he needed to go on his journey to become a better person and to help me fall back in love with him. This was his beautiful and tragic story but hell did he become one of my favourite prestons.
I must say that Lachlan Preston is just the light in this book that it needed he was so precious and I just wanted to be his friend. He is such a brilliant kid and he crawled up there to be one of my favourite kid characters
Aubrey had her own battles and was just someone who wanted to start fresh and wanted to become whole again and not have her heartbroken again. I loved how strong and patient Aubrey was and how she loved with her whole heart and I loved the relationship she had with Lachlan it was just really beautiful. I really loved this character and I think her presents in Logans life was excatly what he needed.
The thing I love about this family is we get to read them grow in every single book and never is any of there story left out and it’s like we are growing with them.
If you haven’t a least read Lucas yet it is a must I loved that book aswell but everyone should take time to see what’s underneath Logan Preston’s Bravado because it is a beautiful story and one I am glad that Jay has told
I can’t even put an amount of stars on this review because it derserves all the stars in the sky.
I’m not sure how Jay McLean does it, but this author never fails to surprise me. Her writing brilliance is a gift to us Romance junkies. Like “I’d-bow-to-her-feet” kind of brilliance. Who can put in cuteness, angst, swoon, pain and perfect chemistry all before Chapter 5 of a book? Only JMac, people.
Only.
J.
Mac.
Every chapter of Logan is gripping. And the entire book? A crazy emotional rollercoaster ride. Even the pain you want to savor because it just feels damn good to have that intensity in your heart.
I need to take a break from reading because all these LOGAN feels, I want them to linger a bit more. Another Preston ruined me, and it’s yet again one of the BEST reading experience ever.
Jay McLean didn’t write a book. This woman MADE A FCKEN WORLD people would love to live in. She made a world with characters you just wanna be friends with and wish were real. Jay, all to hail your BEST BOOK TO DATE. Yes… even bestest than Big L. Sorry, Logan Matthews, Logan fcken Preston stole my errrrthing.
