LOGAN is a companion novella to the bestselling and multiple award-winning LIFE AFTER series. It can be read as a standalone, or as Book 2.5 in the series.more
A companion in the Life After series, this gives Logan’s back story and insight into some of his actions. It is meant to be read between books 2 and 3, but I think it goes best after book 3. It starts just after Logan and Audrey meet the first time, but then goes to a flashback.
I was so excited that Logan got his own side story to explain his previous life, finding God, and the start of his after life through his perspective! We also got more insight to Kaitlyn, Morgan, Satan himself, and demons, but not more about angels. I loved that this side book answered so many questions/ filled in a lot of blanks, but also left so much room open and unanswered questions for Dominion. Julie managed to add another interesting aspect- physical scars are a manifestation of emotions or experiences that someone hasn’t fully recovered from. This book had violence, sexuality (nothing too explicit), revelations, and some heartbreaking moments, but it’s hard to say too much more without giving spoilers.

Oh my goodness, it was so much fun to hear the author share more about the book!
Originally, I gave the book four stars, but with the fun interaction from the author, I’m changing that to 5 stars. Definitely a must read for that alone, though this is a great companion for Life After fans!
A lot of lingering questions about Logan’s past and how he used to be are answered as well as a few extra tidbits about his life that were fun. I didn’t quite expect to enjoy his POV as much as I did and want to reread the series with fresh eyes since getting to read more of his story.
Overall, this is a great, must read in the series that will put Logan in a new limelight. Plus, the book is worth an amazing deal just to have an inside scoop from the author while reading each chapter.

I loved reading this novella about Logan. I helps bring a greater understanding of what makes Logan Logan. He’s a strong character in this series and remains a faithful believer and follower of the Creator. He had some horrible experiences with demons but I’m glad he was able to pull through physically if not mentally at this time. I would recommend reading this novella as it will enrich your experience with reading all the other books in this series.
Just as anything by Julie Hall, this was pure awesomesauce, and it gives us the great pleasure of seeing things from Logan’s POV (which is something that any reader from the LIFE AFTER series has been dying for #yay #finally!!).
Now, while some may see this novella as a prequel (0.5) to the series (and rightly so, since most of its contents introduce us to things and situations that happened
previously to Huntress, the first book in the series) it’s better for it to be read as a 2.5, since it answers many questions that readers’ been having from the two previous books, while also giving us a deeper understanding of said male, brooding character that we’ve come to love *starry-eyed look* + *swoon*
*I received an advance reader’s copy of this book by the author in exchange for my honest review, but this in no way sways my opinion nor rating.*
