Meet the Blackthorne men, each one as hot, fast, and smooth as the whisky that built the family fortune, and the yachts and race cars that bear their name. I really enjoy these series that are written by multiple authors. While they are each standalone stories, it’s fun to see all the different writing styles.
Logan is the 6th book in the series and tells the story of Logan and Piper. Logan Blackthorne is the youngest son in the family and hasn’t quite figured out where he fits in the family business.
This is a friends to lovers romance as Piper and Logan basically gee up together. Ms. Chase does a wonderful job as usual with a great hero and a snarky heroine.
This is a series of books with a different author writing each one and each featuring a different brother from the wealthy Blackthorne family. Each book features a love story for the brother the book is about. This edition, based on the youngest brother, Logan, is written by the fabulous romance expert, Samantha Chase. Logan is a bit of a player and his story revolves around his coming back into contact with Piper, the caretaker’s daughter. They have to learn how to navigate being around each other in these different roles as adults with sparks flying, but wondering if they can take the risk. Of course, these books don’t have to be read in the order of the series. They can be stand alones. As always, I greatly enjoyed reading a fabulous romantic read from Chase and look forward to checking out the others in the series.
Piper has been watching Logan from afar all her life. When the connect again as adults she is on Logan’s radar. Logan is drawn to her. Logan is not forever type of guy. Logan has issues with where his life and career are going. He is trying to get from under his Dad’s control. Piper is total package smart, beautiful and sassy. Logan starts to fall for Piper and is willing to make sacrifices for her. She is game design and he wants to help her succeed. With Piper’s help Logan realizes his life and career path. This a was sweet romance. I am looking forward to reading more in this series.
5 Reaching for the Brass Ring in Love and Life Stars!!
I’m a huge fan of Ms. Chase’s writing and I can always count on her to give me a story that’s fun, flirty, and sometimes has a hidden meaning. In this case, it’s Logan Blackthorne and Piper Stewart who are both searching for something but love definitely wasn’t on the menu!!
Logan is the baby of the Blackthorne family and is being made to make a decision on what role he wants to play in the family business empire, and he’s got plenty of choices too! Piper is home after having just finished her master’s degree trying to decide between something that’s a sure thing or taking the leap with the untried, but with so much potential! These two meet one night at The Vault one of the Blackthorne bars. What’s so great about this is that he did not recognize the girl he grew up with and that put a huge smile on my face for some reason!
I could truly relate to both of them having been in a somewhat similar situation when I was much younger and Ms. Chase does a phenomenal job of having these characters work through their decisions and making their own path. Logan especially has a more difficult task in that he needs to standup to his father and follow his own path…once he makes the decision on what he wants!
There’s a definite chemistry between these two and while they may start as a summer fling, love has a way of working it’s magic on them and thanks to Ms. Chase, they could possibly have it all!!
I really liked Logan and Piper. I thought that there was a real sweetness to the physical attraction and emotional connection between these two. I liked that they both had their own issues that they were dealing with. The chemistry is sizzling and the banter is clever as this couple’s relationship evolves. A very enjoyable read and addition to this series.
As the youngest Blackthorne, Logan has big shoes to fill. Unfortunately for him, he’s not sure which shoes he’s supposed to be filling. Instead of settling down into any particular role, Logan took it upon himself to be a master of all trades within the family empire. This gained him a reputation of a floater, not willing to commit, and a playboy and has generally not been taken seriously by anyone. He comes to his favorite spot to cover for a manager and he meets Piper. Well, meets is a little strong – they knew each other as kids and he doesn’t recognize her at first (which she finds utterly amusing).
Piper knows better than to get involved with Logan – she’s just the ground keepers daughter and her world is very different than the one Logan lives in. Besides, he’s just another player – albeit a really good looking and charming one. Not to mention, she has some major life choices to make: chase her dreams to Seattle with her two best friends? Stay near home and hope something works out? But…maybe if she goes into this thinking it’s just a fling, no harm, no foul….right?
Not surprisingly, things don’t go to plan for either Logan or Piper. Can they overcome their differences or will secrets and words left unsaid be their downfall? This is more than just a Cinderella story, it’s about finding your own footing and forging your own path. And maybe, if you’re lucky, finding someone to share the journey with.
