”A wild ride through the night sky …”–Capt. “Sully” Sullenberger, author of #1 New York Times bestseller (and film) “SULLY”
Over the Atlantic in the dark of night, the electronic brain of Pangia Airlines Flight 10 quietly and without warning disconnects all the cockpit controls and reverses course on its own.
The crew of the huge Airbus 330 at first sense nothing, the flight displays still … sense nothing, the flight displays still showing them on course to New York. But with puzzled passengers reporting stars on the wrong side and growing alarm over the sudden failure of all their radios – and when armed fighters pull alongside to force them to land – the confused pilots discover that Flight 10 is streaking back toward the hyper-volatile Middle East and there is nothing they can do about it.
With an alphabet soup of federal agencies struggling for answers and messages flying between Washington, and Tel Aviv where the flight began, the growing supposition that Flight 10 may be hijacked is fueled by the presence of a feared and hated former head of state sitting in first class, a man with an extreme Mid East agenda who may somehow be responsible for the Airbus A-330’s loss of control. As frantic speculation spreads, the possibility that the unresponsive airliner could be the leading edge of a sophisticated attack on Iran designed to provoke a nuclear response drives increasingly desperate decisions.
As time and fuel runs low, flying at full throttle toward a hostile border ahead, Captain Jerry Tollefson and First Officer Dan Horneman have to put their personal animosities aside and risk everything to wrest control from the electronic ghost holding them – and perhaps the world – on a course to certain disaster.
And in the “Hole” – as the war room in Tel Aviv is called – the interim Prime Minister of Israel grapples with a horrifying choice in the balance between 300 airborne lives and the probability of nuclear war.

another great thriller by Mr. Nance. This is my third and will not be my last. This is such a heart pounding read, I had to know what would happen next. Keep up the great work Mr. Nance.
highly highly recommend
Non stop action.
Very good realistic adventure, based on a plausible (and I hope, unlikely) possibility.
Typical Nance airplane thriller. Good stuff. Not predictable. A good author to follow.
Surprising, interesting and easy to read Read it in one sitting
I have read most of his books and enjoyed all the ones I have read this one is no exception. Great read.
Read the book sitting on the edge of my seat the entire time.
Exciting book. I didn’t always understand the computer technical things but that in no way took away from the story for me. I’ve already added more books from this author to my wish list.
Thoroughly enjoyed this book. i found it difficult to put it down. Captivating in many respect with great characters and well developed personalities. Highly recommend it.
John Nance has done it again!! Great story. Suspense! Timely. Hard to put down.
Great action novel.
It was a good story but the mechanics of how the airline would have gotten the experimental aircraft wasn’t very realistic.
Grab your seats and wish you were on a train. Exciting story with lots of action.
My personal rule for reading a book is, if I’m not engrossed by page 25, move on to another book. I almost quit at the start of this book, but am glad that I stuck with it. It got better.
I’m a true John Nance fan, but found this book too full of technical information to hold me captive as most of his books do. The story is original and twisted, but it just didn’t hold my attention in a lot of passages.
Love everything Nance has written!
well written aviation thriller
It was hard to put this one down! It kept me up late a couple of nights! But it was worth it!
Another really great aviation suspense story from Mr. Nance.
This is the 2nd or 3rd book I’ve read by this author. I find them entertaining if a bit far fetched. Being a private pilot and interested in aviation helps me enjoy his work. Not sure it would be as much fun for a non-pilot.
