Finally! The “true” story of the Loch Ness mystery!
This amazing author blends the Loch Ness legend with the medieval Scottish Highlanders and the result is a beautiful story of redemption, history, and a love that was meant to be.
As a child, Ainsley always felt drawn to the shores of Loch Ness, and after the mysterious green-eyed creature saves her life, she can’t get him out of her mind or her heart. Returning to the family home decades later, Ainsley is determined to reconnect with whatever – or whoever – it is that she met long ago.
As soon as she touches the long-necked creature, he transforms into Bryce MacDonald, the son of the area’s clan chief from five hundred years ago. Having been cursed to live in his aquatic form for centuries, he’s ecstatic to be back on dry land and thrilled to be able to hold the beautiful grown-up version of the girl who once believed in him. Bryce is a man of few words, but his heart is ready for a second chance and he’s not going to let it go without a fight.
Their love story is the stuff of legends, and as they get to know each other better they also uncover the connection that might be the key to breaking the curse for good. The author weaves a captivating story of ancient Celtic religion, Scottish clan hierarchy, the faith of a young girl and the foolhardy pride of a young man. Supernatural romances just don’t get any better than this. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
This is a new take on the Loch Ness Monster. It is a fast, sexy, and fun read that will keep you captivated. Read this book to find out all the secrets of Nessie.
I loved this insta love story. Ainsley meets Bryce after he’s been cursed. 20 years later she goes back to Loch Ness to see if she can find him again. This story was more of fairytale to me. I loved that he felt she was special.
This was another solid offering from this series. This was my favorite book from the Supernatural series. The myth of the Loch Ness monster is uncovered. It involves ancient curses and the redemption of a cranky Highlander. The story was fun and intriguing!
Thank you for the privilege of reading this book!
A sexy, supernatural fun read. Nessie isn’t a female. Nessie is all MAN.
Cursed by a druid for leaving his betrothed at the altar, Bryce has been the Loch Ness monster for 500 years. Ainsley lived by the loch as a child, but her family moved away. She comes back as an adult and has been drawn to the loch and “Nessie” all these years. At her touch Bryce becomes human, and together they have to solve the mystery of how to keep him that way.
Like the other DP books this is an enjoyable PNR. I’m not fond of PNR, but I do enjoy the other books, and especially this one. I LOVE this book. It’s got just the right amount of sexy and humor.
I absolutely love this account of the Loch Ness. An arrogant, sexy yet tortured man cursed for hundreds of years now who has been trapped in the body of a scaly monster in the cold water. Such a creative way to incorporate an old folktale in a completely fresh way.
Ainsley grew up around the loch but had moved away with her family. Now an adult and on the rebound from a relationship gone bad, she’s moved back. She has always felt this unexplainable pull toward the water and the creature she knew lived in it’s depths.
Bryce was an arrogant jerk who mistreated the wrong folks. My word – he received the mother of all consequences let me tell you. He was transformed and never heard from again. His families land and history long forgotten after all this time. Bryce even as the monster lurking in the loch has always sensed Ainsley’s presence and felt a pull to her. He knew when she moved away as a child and knew when she returned years later. Has he learned his lesson? Is there any way to save him?
The story between these two and how it unfolds is wicked amazing!
The ingenious storyline – BRILLIANT! Sexy. Complex. Funny. Heart warming. Gah it’s everything! Magnificently thought out and perfectly timed. I don’t know how this managed to be novella length given the amount of detail and adventure packed in to every page. Fantastic story! I’d love more of these characters some day!
Rating: 4.5 Stars
This story gives voice to a myth or the unexplained. It turns a could be into a possibility. It reminds me of a show/movie I once watched where children can see what adults don’t believe in anymore.
Ainsley Beath has come full circle. Bryce MacDonald is frustrated by his situation. It puts a very romantic spin on something a lot of people wonder about. Are the tales true? What if? We keep reading because we have to wonder how this author is going to end her twist. Part of the twist I loved was the thought of family history. Don’t you ever wonder about past family members?
This book is a great showcase of the author’s creativity. One great thing about writing a fantasy is that the sky’s the limit. But this isn’t a child’s fantasy so expect some heat. Ms. Payne also makes the time to include a character from mythology. Once I got started this was a book that was impossible to put down. The chapters passed by so quickly that before I knew it the story was finished.
I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
As always I love all your books. This one had me on the edge of my seat . I love both characters to the end .i was a little confused at first but as I read it I absolutely loved this one
