Living on a prayer
Living on a prayer is a very inspirational book, Justin and April go through a hard time. He loses his job, gets into a accident. Justin had been going to church but still didn’t have a relationship with God. They have two children to care for which is a teenager.
I loved April, she was such a great wife. She helped Justin and stood by him during all the hard times.
I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series.
I received a complimentary copy of the book from the author. This book review is my own opinion.
Have you ever felt like things were just falling out of control and you couldn’t get a handle on your life? When marriages hit rocky spots it’s often easier to just give up trying. But that’s not what is truly best and fulfilling. In this newest book by TK Chapin, he tackles these issues and more.
April thinks all that needs to change to make her life and marriage good again, is for her husband to change. Justin thinks that all they need is for him to get a better position at his work so he can earn more money. What ends up happening, was something neither one could have imagined.
In this story, there is deep despair, drama, tender moments, hope, healing, forgiveness and love. It truly is packed full of issues we all can relate to in some way or another.
Whenever I pick up a TK Chapin book, I know it will touch me deeply. This book did just that. It was full of life lessons and bunches of hope. I always love it when a book has many wonderful quotes to tuck inside of our hearts. This book has many and I have to say it’s one of the only books, in my vast collection of books, where I have highlighted so many quotes. I felt God speaking to me in a very real way.
The lessons I learned I want to apply to my life and marriage and I know it will stay with me for a while.
I was given this book by the author which did not influence my review in any way, all thoughts and opinions are my own. I highly recommend you pick it up to read!
Life is messy. Don’t do it alone.
I know when I pick up a T. K. Chapin book to expect a good story, relatable characters and a Biblical principle to be learned. Unfortunately sometimes we have to hit rock bottom before we realize we can’t do it without God. This is what happens to Justin and April. Life rises up and gives them both a big slap and eye opening revelations. The way back isn’t easy but it doesn’t have to be taken alone. At some point in our lives we all need the lessons this book presents. Thank you, for your insights given in an enjoyable story.
T.K. Chapin’s book Living On A Prayer:
T.K.Chapin is beyond amazing the way he wrote this book. April and Justin are struggling with everything in their lives. When Justin ends up in the hospital they don’t know what to do next. Watching the way the accident changes the family is truly inspirational. You will feel God working throughout this wonderful story. I had the honor to review this book for the author for a honest review. I would give this book a higher rating than a five star review if I could.
This was a story that caused me to do some soul searching while I read it. I could definitely see some traits of Justin in myself. I would like to be more of an April. I loved the theme of prayer changing the one who prays. I found this book to be realistic and powerful. I received a complimentary copy of this book, but have freely chosen to share my own thoughts and opinions.
I liked how this book points out we are not in control. God is. I like the book points out that He is a good God that doesn’t want anything to come before Him because it is for our best. I like that GOD works out our circumstances good or bad for our good. I liked this book was all about our relationship with God surrendering & trusting Him for everything when it seems all things are falling apart. I liked that prayer is a relationship where we can discuss things with God. I liked the answers to prayer that were received. And each answer was according to His will which is always best for us. I like that we can put in practice in our own lives recommendations made in this book.
