I really liked this book once I started I couldn’t put it down… there was drama and lol funny moments can’t wait for book 2
Undoubtedly 5 star worthy
Oh my gosh SWOON!!!
Not many words can describe my feelings for Living for Today, but I’ll give it my best shot.
When I first started Emily and Austin’s story, I was totally in love! With their quirky personalities, their vulnerability and their amazing love for one another.
I was wrong in thinking it was going to last because it grew into so much more and totally sucked me in.
VR Baucke did the upmost amazing job at making me feel as though I was right there with them. Their story had me in so many mixed emotions, I laughed, I cried (happy tears) I got anxious and fell totally in love!
“You’re anything but a compromise… you’re the damn exception to the rule.”
I happily and wholeheartedly give this novel 5 stars AND highly recommend Living for Today to all fellow romance readers.
Bring on book two of this stunning duet
Living For Today was a story that dug deep into your heart and planted itself firmly in your soul. This first part to the Seven Thousand Miles Duet is emotional, witty, flirty, sexy as hell and truly inspiring. Emily is a young woman trying to escape the ghosts of her past, the ones that haunt her not only when she is asleep but when she is wide awake. She never expects to crash into a man with his own demons, that will begin her journey of healing. Austin is consumed by his mistakes and he never anticipates that Emily will be the one to bring him back to life. As these two live for today it might just be their hearts that will ache for tomorrow. Bring on part 2 because I am on the edge of my seat with Austin and Emily’s story and have fallen in love with these two characters.
Emily Dixon travels from New Zealand to San Francisco to visit some friends for Thanksgiving and get away from an ex and bad memories. Meeting Austin McKenna is an experience in and of itself.
Some good humour is sprinkled throughout the book, especially the expressions, too funny! I learnt something new too, I had never heard of a ‘butt chug’ before but now have! It’s gross but it was funny in the context it was written in the story. This balances the darker side of the story-Emily’s mind vault contents. These contents are dealt with very smoothly within the story and I am impressed with the way the author not only addressed them but resolved them for Emily in a realistic manner, there was no magic wand!
I really enjoyed the characters and could easily relate to them, especially Emily’s fear of flying overseas! They all showed such raw honesty with flaws and all, how could you not like them? Emily’s down-to-earth nature is very appealing as well and I feel demonstrates how sweet she is as a person.
This is such a beautiful romance but be warned it is a heartbreaker and only part one! Bring on book two!
5*
Emily takes a chance to travel seven thousand miles alone to visit some friends.
Grace and Collins are pleased that their New Zealand friend is allowing them to return her families hospitality shown 7 years ago.
Whilst away she finds herself sharing the real her and when Collins brother Austin meets her the two realise they have much more in common.
A truly outstanding story that hits every possible emotion.
Such a fun and original read, with plenty of feels and laughs along the way. Living for Today had such a memorable cast of characters, and right from the start, I felt like I was pulled into the group. I also LOVED the travel aspect of this book. I felt like I was discovering the locations right alongside the characters. VR Baucke definitely has a storytelling gift, and I’d highly recommend Living for Today as a starting point for checking out her books!
