I liked it a lot.
From the first line I was hooked. What a way to start a story! The more I read, the deeper I became invested. I cheered for Luke and Liv to end up together even with the circumstances of their reunion. You can feel the love and the angst. It’s absolutely wonderfully written! Can’t wait to read more from this author

Books that give so many feels are so satisfying and Kelsie Rae’s Liv does just that. Told mostly from Liv’s point of view, we get to take her journey from grief to a second chance at love. Liv’s husband Adam dies unexpectedly. She is only 23, pregnant and scared. When Luke, Adam’s best friend comes to her aid, things begin to look up. But will Luke’s high school crush on Liv still come into play? Kelsie Rae’s debut novel is low angst, heart breaking and heart warming. I enjoyed Liv’s life changing experiences, learning to deal with pregnancy, deciding what is best for her and her baby and her interactions with Luke. I loved Luke’s protectiveness and constant second guessing of what is right for him. It made the story more realistic for me. It’s a slow burn, passionate and loving. I really enjoyed the story.
Amanda Stribling brings her talent to this story. She has an emotional voice, perfect for Liv. She gives her the warmth and depth to make her story ring true. She easily transitions to Luke with his voice strong and full of feeling. He is a compassionate man and you can feel it through her narration. Another great listen!

I liked Liv and Luke but not her deceased husband’s mother. I was a fan of her flash backs of her husband. it was a good book but I wouldn’t be driven to re-read it like I
am some other books I own.
Loved this book! Luke, Adam and Liv have been best friends since Liv transferred to their school. Luke had loved Liv since he first layed eyes on her but Adam asked her out first and then they dated and married. Luke couldn’t stand to see the girl be loved with his best friend so after graduation he leaves for college. Hasn’t seen Liv for 5 years till he comes back for Adam’s funeral. Liv finds out she’s pregnant the day she finds out her husband has been killed in an accident. Luke comes to the rescue!! Awesome book with a HEA and a standalone!!
I really loved Liv. It’s a story about not sharing how you truly feel when you have the chance and having the moment pass you by. It was also about healing, forgiveness and second chances. Liv and Luke’s story was a heartwarming one. The opening was very sad and I definitely cried but as the story went on I felt hope and joy for the two. I’m very glad I was introduced to this author. I look forward to reading Breezy’s (Luke’s sister) story.
It’s sweet, heartwarming story with heartbreaking moments. It will capture your heart from the beginning as it takes you through an emotional ride as it pulls at your heartstrings. You will absolutely fall in love with the characters. I loved the connection and chemistry between the characters. I enjoyed reading about their journey as they overcome heartache and take second chances. Definitely not to be missed.
5 star review for Liz by Kelsie Rae!! I honestly could not put this book down. I have read a lot of amazing books but I think this one beats out most of them. Liv and Luke’s story is like something I’ve never read before and the hoops they had to jump through and obstacles made this book so much better. I can not wait to read the next book in this series and will be adding Kelsie Rae to my must read list for anything she writes!! Highly recommend this book!! – By Cheyenne
Audio/Book Review: Liv by Kelsie Rae (author), Amanda Stribling (narrator)
Rae breaks a heart with love and humor …
What a title. What a talent. What a story. Liv is one woman’s quest to pick up the pieces of her shattered life and broken heart. Tragedy brings many emotions for Liv. The love of her life is gone and more stunning surprises await. A pregnancy and second chance at happiness. If she can move beyond the past and take a chance on the future. Ms. Rae lures readers into a world of heartbreaking loss, unexpected new beginnings and forgiveness in this realistic and emotional romance.
I loved this book.
It was sad in the beginning–her husband dies too young and he never knows that he was going to be a father.
Enter in Luke at the funeral and he takes Liv back home with him to help her out. I should mention that Luke was Liv and Adams (deceased husband) best friend in High school.
Along the way there are some twists and turns (that I didn’t expect) revealed that has Liv not sure about anything anymore.
It is a great story that reminds us that all things happen for a reason and while we can’t change what happens how we deal with it makes all the difference.
I read this in a day and it was really a great great story. I can’t wait to read more by Kelsie Rae–I actually have her next novel Breezy in queue to read in the next week.
Liv just found out she is pregnant and so excited to share the news with her husband Adam, but she is giving the tragic news of his death. Not knowing what she is going to do she goes through the motions. Adam’s best friend and the man who used to be there for her, Luke, comes to the funeral and helps her with Adam’s stuff. When he offers her a place to stay and for him to help her, she knows has limited options and moves to his condo. Luke doesn’t know what he has gotten himself into, his girlfriend Trisha is going to be mad, his new roommate is a woman he has been in love with since high school and he has a secret that may shatter her. What was he thinking??? Wow! This has to be the sweetest romance I have read in a long time. The story has twists and some I never saw coming. This book reminds me of the books that made me fall in love with romance to begin with. So happy that I read this book and I highly recommend it to any romance lover.
When I read the blurb Kelsie Rae’s debut novel, Liv, I knew I wanted to read it. I love books that are emotional and angst-filled, and Liv had it in spades.
Liv married her high school sweetheart. Her life could not be any more perfect. Then tragedy hits and she loses her husband. The last thing she expected was to find out she was pregnant on the day she says goodbye to her husband. Now her entire life is turned upside down.
Luke, Liv and Adam were best friends in high school. But Luke had a secret. When he and Adam have a falling out, he walks out of their lives. He was never supposed to see them again. But when Adam dies, he goes back to say goodbye to his best friend. When he sees Liv needs help, he cannot help but step in.
I loved Liv and Luke. Liv was heartbroken after her loss and was trying to find a way to move forward and provide for her child. Even as she deals with her grief. Luke was so protective of Liv. He was sweet and caring. He put his life on hold for Liv. Both characters were so relatable and likable.
The more time Luke and Liv spend together, you can see their chemistry. Both characters had so much to give each other. There was drama, angst, emotions and so many other things in their way, but going through their journey, you could see how much they belonged together.
I absolutely loved Liv by Kelsie Rae. She gave us amazing characters and a story that will consume you. This was a beautiful story of love, hope and second chances from a debut author. I am looking forward to reading more from this author.
4.5 stars! Read and reviewed for Sultry Sirens Book Blog.
This was a great debut book . I enjoyed the storyline the author chose to write about. The characters were so well written. Luke was sweet you couldn’t help but love his character and Liv was so friendly and such a strong character with everything she was dealing with. The book is a sweet romance, that will make you smile as you read it.
I really enjoyed this book. It was sweet and simple. Nothing to crazy. There is one surprise to the story that you wouldn’t see coming but, like I said, it was nothing crazy. Liv and Luke end up finding each other again after years of no contact. Luke was Liv’s deceased husband’s best friend throughout their childhood. He also became her best friend before he disappeared. He left because he was in love with Liv and didn’t want to come between her and Adam (his best friend). Now circumstances have changed and whether Liv wants to admit it or not she needs Luke. If you enjoy books that are down to earth and sweet you will love this book. It didn’t have the spice that I always enjoy, but sometimes reading something without that spice is nice too.
Liv made me cry throughout this novel because I was so invested in the characters and their story. Ashley @White Hot Reads
I am truly in love with Kelsie Rae’s debut novel. Within the first chapter, I was in love with Liv strength and courage. She has dealt with a lot of tragedies and heartache with the loss of her parents and now her husband. There is one gift he left her with. Luke left his hometown because he was in love with the one women he could never have now with the loss of his childhood best friend he now has a chance with the one he could never have. Even if that chance is just being there for her while she deals with the loss and the new life. The trails that they go through to find their HEA. I am truly in love with all the characters. I could not put the book down but had to when life got in the way of reading.
I cannot wait for Breezy’s book to see how she grows and to read more from Kelsie Rae!.
4.5 Stars
This book did not read as if it was by a debut author! Kelsie Rae did a wonderful job with writing Liv.
Liv’s husband, Adam, had just passed away. She finds out she is pregnant the same day as the funeral. Without a job, her apartment lease up in a week, and no other family, she has no idea what she is going to do. In high school, Liv, Adam, and Luke had been inseparable, but lost touch when they graduated and Luke went away to college. He steps in to help Liv out.
Liv was a well-written debut novel. The plot was well-planned and the characters were well-developed. The side characters were a great addition, as well, especially Luke’s sister. I think the only thing that kept this from being a 5 star read was that I felt like there was too little emotion about Adam’s death.
This was a great book, and I am so happy that I read it. It is definitely on my reread list, and I will certainly keep an eye out for more from Kelsie Rae (Breezy’s story next!!).
I thought this story had an interesting storyline. I did like hearing some of the background of the main characters. I felt bad for Liv who’s husband passed away and she is thrown into motherhood by herself. The characters are a little flat and I wanted to know more about their backgrounds. But this story is really neat and I recommend checking it out.
Book one in the Signature Sweethearts Series and if this book is anything to go by I’m going to love the rest of the books that I’m playing catch-up with.
This is an emotional read that captivated me from the first page to the last line, it’s a second chance romance brought about by tragedy and right from the start you know Liv and Luke are destined to be together and it seems fate as the same plans for them.
Liv was the girl Luke walked away from when he found out his best friend also had feelings for her and now a few years on Liv comes back into his life and he makes it his mission to be by her through the hard times he knows she has in front of her.
Luke is a character you fall for as soon as you meet him, he is sweet, caring and romantic and is perfect for Liv. This is a book with all the feels, I smiled, I swooned and I found myself holding my breath throughout this adorable story. Looking forward to reading the rest of the books in this series.
Everyone is happy in the end.
