I’m a Hoodlum after all.
They call me Little Hoodlum, but I’m not so little anymore…
This is a full-length high school friends-to-lovers, forbidden, and new adult romance with high angst, suspense, and gutting emotion. It’s book two in the Hood River Hoodlum series that will have interlinking storylines. Little Hoodlum shouldn’t be read as a standalone and is the continuation of a four-book planned series that gives each Hoodlum a book. The first book in the series is the only MM story. The others, including this one, are MF.

I haven’t been reading for the last couple of months but then decided to ease my way back into reading after seeing the blurb of K Webster’s Little Hoodlum.
Little Hoodlum is the second book for Hood River Hoodlum. This tells a story of a forbidden best friend’s little sister romance. I like how the story progressed with just the right amount of romance and steam. Considering that this is something written by K Webster, the smut was just the right amount for me and does not have to be done on every chapter for it to be considered hot. The plot twist was unexpected the suspense was written in a way that it would not be easy for the reader to predict. The flow was not to fast nor too draggy. It will be hard for you to put the book down once you started it. It’ll put you to the edge of your seat as if you couldn’t read it fast enough and yet, you also could not wait to know what happens next. That ending was also as shocking as it could get.
The characters are also easy to love. They have their own qualities to make them lovable and relatable. I love how Jordy is very loyal and would do anything to protect the people he loves even at the cost of his own happiness. He may have done some not so bright ideas when it comes to protecting them, but he has done everything with all good intention. Roux on the other hand, has a maturity of someone older than her age. She loves fiercely and would sacrifice her freedom to help her family. Although I don’t like how oblivious she may seem at times, it only goes to prove how trusting she could be. Since I haven’t read the first book of the series, this has been the first time that I’ve met the whole crew. I love the dynamics of their friendship that they have each other’s back regardless of how dangerous or life threatening it may be.
This garners a 4 stars from me. I enjoyed reading thru it and it reminded me how much I enjoyed reading
After the riveting ending of Hood River Rat , I was anxiously waiting for Little Hoodlum . This heartfelt, friends-to-lovers, forbidden romance didn’t disappoint. Roux and Jordy’s story was raw and gritty. I was immersed in their world which was filled with longing, turmoil, heart aches and injustice.
I was consumed with the unshakable connection between Roux and Jordy. Even though the road ahead of them were filled with obstacles, either man-made or due to societal expectations, their affections and feelings for each other never wavered. I truly believed that when a couple had their eyes on the same goal, no matter the path they take – separate or together, they will meet at the end of the course.
One thing that I really like about this series is that Kristi kept the issues and problems of this gang of teenagers/young adults tangible and real for their age. Roux’s dilemmas with her relationships relating to boys and friends were legitimate. It made the whole story genuine and relatable.
The weasel that Jordy tried to shield the Hoodlums from years ago became bigger and more influential. It looked like bad news always came in more than one and the Hoodlums were fighting more than one villains in town. The suspense and danger that they encountered were gripping. They had won one big battle but the fighting was not done yet.
The story ended with a shocking and worrisome incident. I cannot wait for the next book, Campfire Chaos, to see the outcome of the event.
Note: Hood River Hoodlum series a four-book planned series with an interlinking story line that gives each Hoodlum a book. Little Hoodlum shouldn’t be read as a standalone as it is a continuation of Hood River Rat, book 1 of the series.
I voluntarily reviewed an advance complimentary copy of this book. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
She had me in suspense waiting
While I expected a HEA, for most of the book i was on the edge of my seat scared i would not get it. While my book babe a notorious book boyfriend whoarder stole this one under my nose, I will still swoon and dream of this alpha protector.
This book takes over the span of a year, with the POV of H/h, while it is advised to read book one to have more background on them, I read as a standalone in my opinion I feel I would have benefit from starting from the beginning however Author Webster did beautifully integrating the core of book one so the reader did not feel left out of the 1st book. I devoured this book and will say the intense ending is keeping me up at night as she set the scene for what look to be the next book in the series.
For what seems will be book 3 I have to say she started as a side character but hope she will be the one to continue this series as I have to know if she will recover from the tragedy that became her reality.
K. Webster has quickly become one of my favorites and Little Hoodlum is the perfect example as to why. I’ve needed Jody’s story since I finished Hood River Rat and she did not disappoint.
I was hooked from start to finish, I couldn’t put this book down. Jordy and Roux’s story is raw and gritty. It’s an intense and nerve wrecking, but man is it worth it. Jordy was all I hoped for and some. Jordy was a character I couldn’t help but love. His loyalty is like no other, he would do anything and everything for Roan, Roux, and the Hoodlums. His character growth was phenomenal and was amazing to read. Roux didn’t have a normal childhood, she was raised by the Hoodlums. She was naive and unfortunately that came back to get her. My heart hurt for these characters and i was so happy they were able to get their happy.
Little Hoodlum was absolute perfection and the perfect follow up to Hood River Rat. K Webster has me addicted to this series and I need more! She literally left me on the edge of my chair ready to scream at her for the ending.
3.5 Stars
“You worked your whole life to make sure no one hurt me.” She pulls her fingers from her lips and presses them to mine. “And yet here you are, hurting me more than anyone has in my entire life.”
Little Hoodlum was an improvement on the first book, but only just and I will be looking out for Campfire Chaos to see where this story takes us. Maybe Ms Webster should stick to writing the dark and twisty tales we love her for. I had high hopes for Jordy and Roux’s story. Once again I felt as though the adults were neglecting to do their duty. As a mother of five, if any one of my babies was being bullied and sexually assaulted to I’d be starting a war at the door of the young mans family home. On one hand we had a statutory rape issue, so Jordy was happy to wait until Roux was 17, whilst her best friend is drugged and taken advantage of. If we consider these guys are known as hoodlums, then why did they stand back and watch this disaster?
It’s been almost three years since Jordy was sentenced to a prison term, he’s had absolutely no contact with his friends. However, he sends Roan a letter requesting a visit when he finds out Little Hoodlum is going out with Renaldo’s younger brother. Out on parole he, finds himself between a rock and a hard place with Renaldo throwing his weight around. The last thing he needs is the distraction of a gorgeous 17 yr old, because Renaldo is going to use that against him if he finds out.
Roux is pi$$ed with Jordy, who does he think he is? He waltzes back into her life as if he hadn’t pushed her away and starts throwing orders around. Kayden has been her friend for a long time, he’s not like his brother and if she wants to keep seeing him she will. However she starts to see things a little differently now that Jordy is back. He’s a temptation she struggles to say no to. Roux only wishes that they’d stop treating her like a little girl, but she sure knows how to find herself in a sticky situation.
This is book 2 in the series and features Jordy who we met in Hood River Rat. Although this features a new couple it does pick up where book 1 ended so it is best to read them in order to fully understand the story.
Jordy and Roux was a great friend to lovers, forbidden romance.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.

This is the second book in the Hood River Hoodlums Series. You need to read the first book, Hood River Rat, before Little Hoodlum, so that you have a full understanding of the characters we meet in the first book. This is the story of Roux and Jody. I fell in love with these characters in the first book and it is so good to be back in their world. When we start this book Jody is in jail for his actions of protecting Roux and Roan. He’s been in prison for a while and even is being protected by his best friends father who is there for his crimes. Now Roux is not longer a little girl. She is in high school and is in a relationship with Kayden. Kayden just happens to be the little brother of Renaldo. So you know that trouble in on the horizon. Even in jail Jordy is warning Roux to stay away from Kayden but she isn’t going to listen. Jordy went to prison and all but forgot all his friends as he won’t let any other them see him until he lets Roan come so he can tell him to get Roux away from Kayden. We get to see Hollis and Charlotte and all the characters you fell in love with in the first book. However there is danger lurking and things are going to heat up. I fell so much more in love with Jordy and Roux. Road and Hollis have some surprises and the end of this book is going to blow your mind. Charlotte’s side of the story is so shocking. I can not wait to have the next book in my hands and see where Campfire Chaos takes up. You do not want to miss this book. Once you pick it up you will not put it down at all.
All I can say right now is I need the next book now because that ending, WOW!!!!
Roux has not had an easy life. She has been through more than most people go through in their whole lives and managed to come out of it all stronger. She has had a crush on her brother’s best friend Jordy for years. She has also spent the last three years missing him. Now that he is home will things change?
Jordy is a rough around the edges kind of guy. He also doesn’t take sh** from anyone. He is very protective of those that he considers family. Having spent the last three years in prison has made him realize that he would put his life on the line again for them. However, how far will he go in protecting them? Oh and will he give into the feelings he has for Roux?
The obstacles that Jordy and Roux have to go through are enough to make anyone cave. These two have the strength to get through anything but will they survive what is through at them?
When K Webster goes in for the kill, she slays you lifeless. Needless to say Webster nailed it with Little Hoodlum!
Let’s get those formalities out the way first.

If you have not been introduced to Hood River, what have you been doing with your life??? You need this series, you need this book!
Jordy, I fell for that big guy in Hood River Rat. You couldn’t not do it. His loyalty is one of the many qualities I admire from him. What he does to protect those he cares for still leaves me all swoony. Mind you, his hand are bloodied. That doesn’t matter for his heart is pure gold.
Roux, poor girl. She was raised by hoodlums, how could you not have a soft spot for her. Naive and young, can’t blame her there. Her heart was always in the right place.
This story kept me on my toes and hit me all in the feels. Not sure if I can take any more of these guttings for the next ride into Hood River. But damnit if I ain’t gonna dive in!
Bravo!
OMG! My favorite story so far. I can’t describe the feeling of excitement this book gave me! I freaking LOVED it!
This is Jordi and Roux story. I knew their story would be so good! It’s a forbidden type of love story mix with so much crazy drama. To reach their happy ending, they had to endure so much. What I especially loved was the fact we get more from past characters. It just feels complete when the whole gang is together.
I can’t wait for more Hoodlum! The ending will leave you speechless but I know what’s to come will be drama filled adventure for sure!
I don’t know whether to be mad at K Webster or to be pissed. Lol. Little Hoodlum was everything I wanted it to be and more. I knew from Hood River Rat that their chemistry would be off the charts. I had a feeling that their story would be riveting. I had no idea.
Little Hoodlum is a chaotic mess of drama. Not the writing, not the characters, but their lives- their lives become a chaotic tumble down the mountain with them struggle to grip onto anything to keep from plunging to their demise.
K Webster is true to her torturous methods. She gives you love. She gives you hope. Then she strangles them both until you are fighting for one or the other trying to claw your way free. You are so blinding by the rush of air that you can’t tell which has survived or if you really have at all. Is the bright light heaven, hell, or reality?
Good luck figuring it out because that’s when she slaps you upside the head with the ending. It’s a KO. A total knock out with a left hook you never saw coming but completely feel to the marrow of your bones. You won’t know whether to be mad or pissed either!
I first fell in love with Jordy when I read Hood River Rat. At first I didn’t like him, but his character grows on you until you’re in love! I love his protective nature! There’s so many obstacles to overcome, and little Roux has secrets of her own too! It was definitely a great read!
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it a thousand more times. K Webster is SO great and I will read literally anything she gives us to read. This is book 2 in the Hood River Hoodlums series. You REALLY should read book 1 first. It’s MM but it’s great! Book 2 is about Jordy and Roux. Basically Jordy is still messed up with some people he shouldn’t be messed up with. Roux has a clingy ex boyfriend and a bunch of other crazy stuff that happens to her that I’m hoping we eventually hear more about. I’m lookin at you Wes. Roux, in my opinion, is tough as nails. She’s been through the ringer growing up with basically her brother and his friends. Especially Jordy. Jordy is ruthless. He takes no sh*t from no one. Except maybe Roux and Roan. A lot has changed for Jordy but a lot of things stayed the same. He’s still as loyal as ever and his love for Roan and Roux is abounding. I absolutely LOVED their story and I’m DYING DYING DYING for book 3 because the ending of Little Hoodlum has me shook!! K swings for the fence and knocks it out of the park every single time. Can’t wait for the next one!
Little Hoodlum was sooo good. I loved getting back into the world of Hood River. Where we got to see Roan and Hollis but Roux! Along with those hoodlums, Jordy, Terrance and Cal. We left off in Hood Rat Hoodlum with Jordy saving the day. And ending up getting jail time for that. Back to where we start in Little Hoodlum…we catch up with Roux and how life has been for her. I really loved how fiercely protective Roan, Terrance, Cal and of course Jordy are of her. This turned out to be a really great follow up. So so good. I can’t wait for Campfire Chaos! Considering where she left us off with!! Im gonna need answers and punishments asap.
OMG THIS BOOK It absolutely slayed me, ripped me apart and knocked me down (in all the best ways!). It was epically amazing, intense, and sucked me in immediately. This happens to me with most of K Webster’s books lol but damn is she really pulling out all the stops with this series. And the ending?! I need the next book, and I need it now. It’s such an experience reading a K Webster book. You never know where she’ll take the story but you just throw yourself into it and into the characters and trust that she’ll take you on an amazing journey. And wow she delivered with this book!
This book takes place 3 years after the last one, and there are a lot of things that have happened.
Roux is now 17, and she has a good friend who has just become her secret boyfriend. The problem is that he’s not all that good a guy. Jordy, who went to jail for her, has written her a letter and told her to get away from him, but she doesn’t want to.
I think that it was destined that Roux and Jordy were going to be together. I never thought that it would be an easy journey, because, well, this is a K Webster book. It’s a really hard journey though. There is a lot of pain and agony that goes into this one. There are also plenty of places where you shouldn’t look away because you don’t know what you will miss.
I can’t wait for the next story. I’m pretty sure that it’s going to break me apart.
Ahhhhhhhhh!!! This book is filled with soo much angst! I kept having to take breaks and come back cause it’s like a drug. I don’t know how Webster comes up with so much craziness but holy smokes, this one will have you on your toes and flipping pages as fast as you can! An absolute must read! Make sure to start with Hood River Rat.
K Webster did a great job on this story. Little Hoodlum had a strong well written plot that was packed with so many emotions that’ll take you on a rollercoaster. The plot was strong, so wasn’t the characters. Nothing about Jordy and Roux’s journey was easy, they had many ups and downs, their relationship may have been on the forbidden side but they were made for each other, they’ve always been drawn to each other. The connection, their attraction was strong and their chemistry was steamy. They were great together.
This was a great story, I’m looking forward to reading more.
Thank you, K. Webster. Wonderful work 🙂
4.5 Addicting Stars!!
Little Hoodlum is book #2 in the Hood River Hoodlums series, but can be read as standalone. The storyline is masterfully crafted, with amazing characters (even though I’m not a fan of Little Hoodlum), and great plot twists.
This is a fabulous read fill with everything you love in a good book, mystery, suspense, forbidden romance, action-packed, a very emotional ride that would get you hooked right from the start. So, I won’t go into detail because you got plenty of with the other reviews, just know that this is one of those series you need to have!
Author K Webster is freaking phenomenal!!
This Hood River Hoodlums world has me sucked into it so hard that I’m like an addict already jonesing for the next one! Jordy was a selfless protector in book one and now he’s ready to keep his family safe. His family being the Hood River Hoodlums. Roux is growing up and starting to date her best friend Kayden. But he’s being sucked into his brother Rolando’s gang. I loved how Jordy and Roux had that inexplicable attraction and couldn’t stop the feelings developing between them. There is crazy action, suspense and twists throughout this story. So many unexpected things pop up and set up the next story. Such a page turner and how can I live until the next one? How??????
