This is a full-length high school friends-to-lovers, forbidden, and new adult romance with high angst, suspense, and gutting emotion. It’s book two in the Hood River Hoodlum series that will have interlinking storylines. Little Hoodlum shouldn’t be read as a standalone and is the continuation of a four-book planned series that gives each Hoodlum a book. The first book in the series is the only MM story. The others, including this one, are MF.

But…Who runs the school??? The Hoodlums do!!! And don’t you know they protect their own!!
“Hoodlums are tough.
We don’t take shit.”
And that’s where Jordy Martinez comes into the picture. He’s her brother’s best friend who’s serving ten years at OSP for killing four men and he is about to be released from prison. And cue the angst and suspence and all the drama to make for one Hellova read. Man this book was such a page turner…loved it!!
5 I love the “Hoodlums” Stars!!!
oh YAY Jordy got his story out and it was awesome.
As we all know Jordy took the rap for the crap storm that Roan and Roux went through in Hood River Rat and now that he is serving his time he finds out a few things about Roux’s boyfriend and he will do everything to protect his little hoodlum, and to do that he needs to get out but when he does he can only think of one thing how Roux isn’t the little girl that he remembers now she is a woman.
What would any book be without some drama and action oh and a few surprises thrown in for good measure.
Jordy’s story is here. If you’ve read Hood River Rat then you’ve met both Jordy Martinez and Roan Hirsch’s little sister, Roux. These three were so close until Jordy changed all their lives with one action. Jordy always felt protective of his best friend’s little sister but when he comes home after getting into some trouble 3 years prior, he never thought his little hoodlum would have grown up so much. She is involved with some bad people. Can he protect her while keeping his hands to himself? He doesn’t think he is any good for her either, however sometimes a certain type of bad is exactly what we need in life. Omg! Omg! Omg! If you enjoyed book one then you are in for a treat with this one. You must read book one first as this is more of a continuation of the characters from Hood River Rat, just a different couple takes center stage. Get ready for this slower burn, off limits, dark, criminal, best friend’s little sister romantic suspense with plenty of action and mischief. I loved the storyline for Jordy, Roux and all the others from Hood River Rat. I cannot wait for the next story in this series. Told in dual POV
Roux used to have a crush on Jordy, who ended up saving her in the first Hoodlums book. Now that he’s out of prison, Jordy sees that she’s more than just the kid he treated as a sister, so much more. The problem is he can’t act on it, or he’s going to get in trouble (since she’s not quite 18).
I loved the first book & got this book in order to continue reading these characters’ stories.
However, this one seems to be a bit too dramatic with many different things happening, even compared with the first one, with the teacher situation, Sid & her kid, etc… It’s written from two points of views, but we still aren’t privy to the plan that Roux & Jordy are a part of to solve their problems. Also, after waiting all that time, when they finally do get together they use no protection at all? Seems too weird to me.
Age gap is not my favorite trope, so I didn’t enjoy this one quite as much as the first book. It also was quite a lot darker, containing some rape and more violence. But I’m still really into this series, starting the next one immediately!
I am dying! This story was so good! I’m so glad Jordy got his Little Hoodlum, and after all Roux has been through, she deserves a break. This story is all-consuming, and the suspense is absolutely riveting!
Little Hoodlum is sooooo good. It pulled me right in and I couldn’t put it down. Warning, this book has some sensitive context. Jordy and Roux are perfect for each other. Their chemistry will have you all hot and bothered. I loved seeing Hollis and Roan as well. So many jaw dropping moments. Looking forward to reading Campfire Chaos.
After reading Hood River Rat, I couldn’t wait to start Little Hoodlum, and I was not disappointed. It killed me at the end of the first book when Jordy had to go to jail. Yes, I know he killed 4 people, but still… Something about Jordy just drew me to him.
Three years later, Jordy is released from prison and he gets the surprise of his life to see a grownup, Roux. Gone was the little girl and in her place, someone he couldn’t stay away from. Roux is just as enamored with Jordy and with them living in the same place, it’s was hard to stay away from each other.
There was so much that happened in this story. So much angst! At the same time, there were great moments as well. I don’t want to give anything away. Just be prepared to have your mind blown. Can’t wait to read Campfire Chaos and see what happens with Char and Cal.
I give Little Hoodlum 5 stars! Looking forward to the rest of the books in the series.
This was a great book.
~~ 4.5 FEROCIOUS STARS! ~~
“Mine to protect.”
K. Webster blew me away with LITTLE HOODLUM, the second unforgettable installment in her Hood River Hoodlums series! This book is chock full of everything I love in a Coming of Age romance. Gut punching teenage angst. Forbidden Passion. Gritty Drama. Hope. Heartbreak. And so many jaw-dropping twists and turns it will leave you breathless!
PREMISE:
LITTLE HOODLUM, a thrillingly fast paced best friend’s little sister romance, takes place three years after book one left off, which had our hero, Jordy Martinez, heading to the slammer after slaying four men to protect his best friend Roan and Roan’s baby sis, Roux, from a brutal attack. And while his incarceration stole a lot from him, he would do it again in a heartbeat. Despite their five year age difference, Roux Hirsch, aka “Little Hoodlum,” always harbored a schoolgirl crush on Jordy and while he always watched out for her, his feelings morphed from platonic to amorous when she defied his orders and visited him in jail. Now after getting an early release, he’s back and to his shock and secret pleasure, Little Hoodlum has blossomed into a beautiful young woman. But he knows she’s UNTOUCHABLE. After all he’s an ex-felon with a bleak future and he has no business lusting after this beautiful jailbait.
Jordy tries to do everything in his power to keep his girl at arm’s length. But temptation proves impossible to resist for this deliciously dirty talking alpha protector when he finds himself temporarily living under the same roof with the Hirsch family. But Roux and Jordy’s scorching hot chemistry needs to be kept under wraps because if anyone gets wind of their forbidden desire then he might end up back behind bars! And to further complicate matters, Roux is caught in the crossfire of a dangerous war between the hoodlums and their sworn enemies. Can this tortured duo gain the upper hand and emerge with their hearts intact? Or will a tragic twist of fate tear them asunder once again?
MY MUSINGS:
LITTLE HOODLUM is a wildly addictive, explosively emotional and tantalizingly taboo tale with ALL THE FEELS! Before I start my gushfest about all the virtues of this book, I have an itty bitty confession: I am reading this book out of order. EEEK! Due to the intertwining storylines, this series is supposed to be read chronologically. So don’t follow my example and make sure you read the first installment—HOOD RIVER RAT, an MM featuring Roux’s older brother Roan—prior to this one. That said, K. Webster did a stellar job of catching me up to speed and I was able to figure out who was who pretty quick!
Okay now onto what I floved about this book. Well for starters? The premise of the story was just THE BOMB! I love me a tough, territorial alpha hero with a savior complex who falls for his best friend’s little sister…and Ms. Webster’s sure did this timeless trope justice! First a little backstory: Roux and her brother had a very difficult upbringing and Roan and the rest of the Hoodlum’s always looked out for their Little Hoodlum. And when major mayhem struck, Roux had made the ultimate sacrifice to safeguard the Hirsh siblings. And he has ZERO regrets. Roan is like a brother to him and he’s always a soft spot for Roux. However, even though he knows he needs to keep his distance from Little Hoodlum for her own good, he craves her with a feverish intensity that cannot be contained!
Roux also covets Jordy with every beat of her hopelessly infatuated teenage heart, especially all that he sacrificed for her and her brother. And the still under-aged high school senior refuses to be scared off by Jordy’s desperate pleas for her to stay away …or cower from the danger that continues to dog him!! But her life has taken a treacherous turn of its own, in the form of two menacingly obsessive, wanna-be suitors who refuse to take no for an answer! Which, of course amplifies every caveman instinct in her sworn protector!
Gah! I absolutely fell head over heels in love with Roux and Jordy from page one. Their all-consuming, soul deep connection just INTOXICATED me! To say their chemistry was blistering hot is an understatement, and their butterfly-inducing love story was tinged with so much bittersweet, heart-slaying emotion it made my chest ache! Roux is the quintessential sweet-natured good girl who has a weakness for a certain lethally handsome bad boy, and now that’s she’s mostly grown up, she’s blossomed into quite the spitfire who has no gumption about going after what she wants. And what she wants, against all odds, is Jordy! The boy who makes her feel ALIVE! As for the hero, HOLY EFFIN SWOON! This ferociously sexy alpha made my princess parts tingle and my pulse race! Big and tough and rough around the edges, yet also fiercely loyal and chivalrous to the core, Jordy can’t resist tasting the sweet and succulent forbidden fruit. Even though deep down he fears HE’S the one who is gonna poison HER!
I loved the emotionally tumultuous, passion fueled, tug of war between the H&H, which plays out against a landscape of danger, volatility and juicy small town drama. A perfect “storm of brewing emotions” rages between Jordy and his Little Hoodlum. “Guilt. Anger. Love. Lust” And complete and utter DEVOTION!
In addition to the heartthrobbing central romance, the manner in which the colorful cast of supporting characters, foes and friends alike, are woven into the storyline is fanfreakingtastic! I loved getting acquainted with the Hood River Hoodlums Crew and I especially adored the hero’s connection with Roan. Those two truly are blood brothers in every possible way. And I also loved the side story involving Roux’s best friend, Charlotte who has aligned herself with a toxic bad boy of her own and has subsequently gone off the rails! Furthermore, the overarching suspense plot, featuring the Hoodlums’ old enemies, a vicious gang of thugs who are wreaking havoc throughout town, definitely lent a lot of adrenaline pumping excitement and high octane intensity into the mix.
As I have come to expect from the gloriously talented Ms. Webster, the writing is sublime, the sexual content is FILTHY HOT, there are plot twists aplenty, and she explores some dark subjects that are gritty and raw and unflinchingly depicted. And sighhh Roux and Jordy sure have to jump through hoops to be together, but it goes without saying that the author serves up an action packed, nail-biting climax that leaves you gasping as well as a beautiful, heart tugging HEA that will give you ALL THE HAPPY TEARS! But, because it’s part of an interconnected series, it also ends with a shocking cliffy that masterfully paves the way for CAMPFIRE CHAOS!
BOTTOM LINE:
LITTLE HOODLUM takes us on a thrilling roller coaster ride leaves us exhilarated yet also clamoring for our next fix! Cannot flipping wait for book three!
So, I guess you could say that K Webster can do no wrong, in my eyes. She literally slays anything and everything that she touches! Little Hoodlum is absolutely no exception!
After book one, I was highly anticipating Roux and Jordy’s story! Little Hoodlum had me so excited and on the edge of my seat. I was turning the pages so quickly just trying to devour the story. It was wild and raw, it was heartbreaking and all consuming, and it was so painfully wonderful!
So, we all know Roux from the first book. *Seriously, if still haven’t read that book.. Go! Now!* Roan’s little sister, the one person (besides Hollis, of course) that he will go do anything for. There is literally nothing he wouldn’t do for his little sister. In fact, all of the hoodlums protect her with their lives. She’s the little hoodlum, after all! Roux has had a crush on Jordy since she was a little girl. She’s spent three long years without him, but now he’s home. She knows what she wants and she’s willing to wait to get it.
“If Jordy would give me the time of day. I’d let him do whatever he wanted to me. With Jordy, it feels safe. Comfortable. Like home.”
Jordy, Roan’s best friend and pretty much brother since he sacrificed his own freedom for him and Roux. He’s so fiercely loyal and protective over everyone that he’s close to, especially Roux. Even though he knows he can’t be with her, he’s starting to feel like him and Roux are a little more than just friends. Roux feels it too but she’s still only seventeen and his best friend’s little sister. Despite that, their connection continues to grow. Jordy can’t risk losing her all over and going back to jail for being with a minor. He loves her too much to lose her, again. He’s willing to wait a few months so that they can be together.
“You can’t run.” He turns me in his arms so we’re facing each other. “I’ll always find you.”
Sooo many obstacles for pretty much everyone in the friends group. Jordy is caught up in gang activities, as an unwilling participant. He’s trying to protect his best friend and his sister. Roux is struggling with her best friend who seems to be in a lot of trouble, and no one can actually figure out what is going on with her. Plus, an obsessed teacher and a boyfriend who is in a gang. Everyone in this group deserves their happily ever after!
“You’re here with me now,” he murmurs. “You’re mine. Don’t forget that, Roux. When all feels fucking overwhelming, remember us.”
The connection they have is real and forever. The love they have has no boundaries. Jordy is a tough guy who wears his heart on his sleeve for the ones he loves and it’s so easy to swoon over him. We got to catch up with Hollis and Roan because they appear throughout the book, as well as our other favorite hoodlums and side characters. I’m so invested in the hoodlums stories. I can not wait for book three, Campfire Chaos!
ARC received from author.
Roux and Jordy are everything I thought they’d be and more! Heat and angst all rolled up into one intense situation. Once Jordy is released from prison, he realizes how much Roux has grown up and how much he truly wants her. Being out on parole, his situation would go south real quick if he acts on it, as she’s 17 and underage for a few months. And so, the book is left with heated interactions, angst, and intense friendship as that’s as far as it can go. The deeper they get, the more they brush the boundaries of legality.
Both characters have fantastic stories attached to them. Roux wants nothing more than to be happy with Jordy and finish school, but she’s in a crap relationship that she doesn’t want to be. Jordy is trying to stay clean, while also running errands for the gang in order to keep the Hoodlums safe.
What I also enjoy about this book is how closely it is linked in with the series. It doesn’t forget Roan and Hollis and we see lots of their love and even their ongoing story. Then this one is also setting up the next book. Given the fact that the series starts with Hollis and his sister moving to town. She and Roux become friends, Hollis and Roan date, Roux and Jordy are together, Charlotte, Hollis’ one sister will be in the next one, and I suspect it’ll be Penny for the final book. Charlotte will be with Cal, based on a certain part of this one, and then Penny with Terrance. I am really liking how the interconnectedness of this is enforcing the fact that Hoodlums are like a family.
My only critique with this book has to do with Wes. At first, I thought it was too much, considering all the other boy drama around Roux. Did she really need more? But then it got interesting, intense, and stalker-y. But nothing was really done about it. Cal helped her and then it all got brushed away. I was very much waiting for Jordy to find out about it and react. Unless that’s being saved for Cal’s book, when we hear more about what he did. Maybe give time for Jordy to be off of parole? Either way, I just wish more was done with it.
I can’t get over how much I am loving this series. I am really trying to figure out if I like this one more than Hood River Rat. I loved the bully theme in that one, but the angst in this one is fantastic. This series is everything, and every character is fantastic and plays such a great role in the overall story. Charlotte’s will be heartbreaking, I suspect.
5 stars all the way!
Jordy and Roux were the sweetest and realist couple I’ve read in awhile! I loved how much they loved each other and didn’t ever waver from that. K writes young adult characters sooo well you can’t help but feel transported to that time in your life when everything was just sooo heightened emotions fights falling in love, you just FEEL so much at that age trying to figure out where you fit in and she nails it every damn time!!!
My rating of 4 stars comes from the push pull of Jordy and Roux getting together. I just felt it went on longer then needed.
There’s a cliffy for the series it’s self but not for Jordy and Roux’s relationship.
I didn’t read the first book but I really didn’t feel all that lost but other reader’s recommend it.
I’m very much looking forward to the next book in this series
3.5 Stars
“I missed you,” I murmur. “You already said that.” “I’ll say it a thousand times,” I tell him.”
Wow… where do I start with this review. We had a lot going on in this book. Almost too much. I mean… things where just getting thrown in and I was loosing focus on the main reason why I wanted to read this book! I felt we needed more time on Jordy & Roux. I loved all the little forbiddeness we got from them. But it just wasn’t enough.
It was all weighted down with all this Renaldo Ramirez business. I just wished it had a even balance to it all.
“You worked your whole life to make sure no one hurt me.” She pulls her fingers from her lips and presses them to mine. “And yet here you are, hurting me more than anyone has in my entire life.”
I loved and wished for more the the forbiddeness feeling I got in my stomach when Jordy couldn’t stop or step away from Roux. But I felt we only got a tame version in this book. I felt their was some holding back in some of their intimate moments. I wish their was just a little more of them getting carried away.
“I’m not your baby. I’m nothing to you until you let me in.”
The whole Wes thing threw me. It seemed out of place. But I’m sure it will all make sense in the other books. We got a couple of jaw dropping surprises in this book. Especially the ending of this book. I can’t wait to see how it all plays out for everyone. Because it was so sad! Hopefully we don’t have to wait to long for the next book!
*ARC provided for an honest review.*
Little Hoodlum was such an enjoyable read!!! It had EVERYTHING. It had angst, chemistry, steam, tears, and forbiddenness.
Now, I skipped the first book and started the series with this one and I understood everything even without reading Hood River Rat. HOWEVER, I am kicking myself in the ass for not reading Roan and Hollis’ story. I already want more of them so I will be reading it ASAP.
And can I talk about that ending?! O.M.G!!!! I swear K Webster likes to torture her readers. I so can’t wait for the third one!!! Luckily, it won’t be a long wait.
I didn’t think Ms Webster could outdo Hood River Rat.
Wrong, even though I love me some MM deliciousness of Roan and Hollis.
Little Hoodlum gave all the feels – fuzzies, tears, tingles in all the right places, suspense, intrigue, angst…you name it, she rocked it, bringing the characters to vivid life in my imagination.
I’m not one to rewrite the blurb in a review, nor do I spew spoilers, so I’ll just leave this simple: Hood River Hoodlums is my top series of 2020 to date. And after that ending? I’m dying for book 3!!
Oh my gosh. That last epilogue has me all out of sorts right now….
Moving on, WOW. THIS AUTHOR IS JUST THE BEST!!!!!!! I was on the edge of my seat the entire time with these two. I didnt think I could love a couple more than Hollis and Roan but nope, I was wrong. Jordy and Roux were ELECTRIC!!!!!! The connection they had was so magnetic. The chemistry was just flowing off the pages. Man, I LOVE JORDY!
There were so many twists, turns and bad guys in this book I didn’t think it would ever resolve….which that reminds me, Wes kind of floated away. Nothing really happened with him so I wonder…
This book it ended PERFECTLY. I was smiling and laughing and just SO HAPPY at the end…..Until I got to the very last epilogue..I am so glad that Charlotte gets her book next. I am dying to see this all pan out. My heart broke for her. I just know I am going to be chewing my nails off the entire time. And just by one teeny interaction I noticed, I am going out on a limb and saying Cal is her man….but Terrance…omg. I CANNOT WAIT! MAJOR 5 STARS.
Roux and Jordy’s story! Book 2 in this series doesn’t disappoint. I can’t tell you how much I love this woman’s books and how she unapologetically writes with her heart! I love Hollis and Roan and wasn’t sure I could love a story as must as theirs but wow, this book had my heart hurting so much (in a good way). I can’t wait for Charlotte’s story!
Oh my sweetness – I devoured Roux and Jordy’s story! Talk about soulmates…K Webster wrote about that perfectly with this story. Jordy has always been protective over his best friend’s (Roan) little sister Roux. When certain events go down in Hood River Rat, he proved just how far he would go to protect them. In this book, Roux and Jordy get their story – it has so many twists and turns that I was on the edge of my seat while reading. I loved seeing their passion grow for one another – but Webster killed me with the epilogue.
I really enjoy K Webster’s writing, she has this ability to write characters you just want to protect and storylines that pull you in, grip you, and make you mourn when you complete her book. This one is no different. I can’t wait to read Char’s book!
