I have just finished reading Jane Blythe’s novel, Dead or Alive and she left me with a tease that I had to follow up…immediately, so I began reading Little Girl Lost. I’m happy I didn’t wait, because everything I wanted to know about Tessa is now reveals…at least I think so. She is such a private person, holding tightly to her secrets, it is hard to know for sure.
Just ask Detective Parker Bell. Her loves her and made her his wife, yet he knows there are many secrets she has buried from her tragic past. After all, she has walked in these children’s footsteps and, even though she managed to escape with her life, survivor’s guilt hounds her every breath.
“You know you don’t have to do everything yourself all the time, Tessa.”
“It’s okay to let people help you sometimes.”
It is almost impossible to put down a Jane Blythe thriller because she fills her novels with emotion provoking content, tremendous amounts of tension making me feel the urgency of her characters and biting suspense as I wonder who will survive. The recurring characters have had more than their share of misfortune and hardship, but does that stop Jane Blythe from piling on more? OH NO. BUT, I love it. Does that make me as twisted as some of her characters? I hope not. After all, you have to go into their minds to be able to do what’s necessary, whether it’s taking them down or just trying to get into their head.
I have been with Tessa since the beginning and I understand her difficulty in believing and trusting, letting others into her world. She has been betrayed, used, tortured and abused, and I understand her need to keep her secrets. Tessa has her sweet, tender, vulnerable moments, but if I am ever in need of a kickass savior, I would love to have her at my side. She will sacrifice everything to save others.
There are plenty of villains to go around, but John Doe…I see him and I see why he does what he does, but I have no forgiveness for the loss of an innocent child. I do love a villain that creates ambivalent emotions and Jane Blythe does that with John Doe. The rest…do unto others…
I voluntarily reviewed a free copy of Little Girl Lost by Jane Blythe.

Wow another great suspense book from Jane. I really didn’t think this series could get any better. But yet again I was wrong. I am not one for suspense and mystery books. But after reading four of these so far. I am a new fan of suspense books. I absolutely love this series and want more from these characters. I am literally hooked on Jane’s books and want more from her. This one is amazing just like the first three in the series. There are major revelations in this book that are mind blowing but yet so enlightening. Jane has literally put the characters in her books through so much and the characters in this one just wow. Again this one grabbed me from the beginning and didn’t let me go. The ending just wow. I cant wait to read the next one. In this one we finally learn what happened to Tessa and her friend Ellie sixteen years ago. You read the tale through flashbacks. It is a chilling storyline that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Tragic story but one with hope. I absolutely loved this one. Jane blew me away with this one. I could not put it down. Highly recommend.
Wow! What an exciting start, the story grabs you from the first page and doesn’t let go.
In this story we finally learn what happened to Tessa and her friend Ellie, sixteen years prior. The distressing and abhorrent tale is told in flashbacks, and I honestly can say it is a factual account that is chilling but very poignant.
This is a tragic story but also one of hope too. I can’t even begin to imagine how anyone would survive the horrors that the character Tessa endured but it is realistic in that it doesn’t go away and magically all get better.
An intriguing tale that is extremely entertaining.
I fall in love with all of these characters more and more with each book. Little Girl Lost is thrilling and full of suspense. Another edge of my seat rollercoaster ride. I can hardly wait to find out what happens next.
Yet another layer in the past of Tessa. Oh boy does Jane have may layers to this series. Another edge of your seat ride that had me holding my breath at times.
When Tessa’s past comes back to haunt her….We are left wondering are her and Parker strong enough to conquer all?
This series is amazing. I’ve never read anything like this before
Does their torment never end?
As I moved through this series, it has become important to realise that you MUST read the other books first to understand the implications of what seems to be the subplot, but is actually the main thread of the story.
Oh holy hell, the revelations in this book are mind blowing and so enlightening. How Ms Blythe has pulled so many threads together with the fabric of the story coming undone is an absolute testament to her ability and the depth of her imagination as an author to pull it all together. OMG.
I’ve said before that I would hate to be a character in the books of Ms. Blythe. She puts each of them through so much, and I love the family atmosphere that Parker has with his department and his boss. They are all crucial in their support of each other. Parker and Tessa have been through so much, and I NEED them to have their happy ending!!!!!
And I tell you true, the ending of this book will have you desperate to read the last book in the series………..
5 Stars
When I started the first book I thorght reading this series was going to be a challange but my god its brilliant, one from the end now and I’m sad I read them so quickly.
This one was another page turner and struck at my heart strings, the anticipation of the ending had me on my toes.
This series is amazing
I’ve raced through this series past few days unable to put it down.
Sad that this was second to last book in series as don’t want to say goodbye to much loved characters, and each book gets more intense as we go along.
In saying that I’m intrigued to see how the author ties up the rest of the loose ends with so much that has happened/Been revealed already.
Soooooo flippin good!!
Ok so I started out not really sure I was going to enjoy these books ,but wow was I wrong jane has given me a new genre to really enjoy. These books just get better and better as you go along.
Join parker and tessa on another edge of your seat suspense just try not to want to strangle tessa too much coz yes shes annoying and you want to slap her a time or two but that’s the beauty of Jane’s writing your to engrossed in the story to let that get in your way!!
Another fantastic addition to a brilliant series!!
I recieved a free copy in exchange for an honest review.
Wow! I’m hooked on this series. Tessa and detective Parker Bell are back and this time Tessa is relieving the past.
Suspenseful and thrilling. It will keep you hooked from the first page to the last.
This has been my favorite of the series so far. I am loving the suspense factor so much in this series! I still adore Parker and even though Tessa bothered me in the last book I enjoyed her more in this one (it’s still hard to get use to some of her behavior but she’s been through so much trauma it’s probably why she was written this way, no one would be working with a full deck if they were her so I have to remember that). Can’t wait for the next one!!
Wow another great book I absolutely loved it I couldn’t put it down at all and cant wait for more
As in the last book, I still find Tessa to be incredibly annoying. Her lack of trust in her husband and her friends always leads to drama and trouble, yet she always seems to blame them whilst claiming everything’s her fault. It’s so frustrating! But this shows how great this author is! When you find yourself invested in the characters and gasping out loud or throwing your kindle across the couch out of pure frustration, you know the story is written well!
As if these characters haven’t gone through enough, the past is back to haunt them again and finally we get some answers. Will Tessa and Parker ever get a happy ever after it will Tessa’s past continue to come between them until they break? Read it to find out!
Probably should mention there are some dark issues in this book, it made me slightly uncomfortable but also really made me think.
I like this suspenseful series but the heroine never gets any smarter or likable. The story itself is very engaging and will keep you on the edge. I like Parker a lot but I truly believe he deserves someone so much better than Tessa. This is my volitional, truthful review.
