It’s not something I talk about with anyone, but that doesn’t stop me from trying to snare my neighbor in my devious web.He is angsty and brooding and completely sexy in a … in my devious web.
He is angsty and brooding and completely sexy in a scrappy, bloody knuckle kind of way. I should also mention that he’s a scheming, felonious drug dealer and I’m drawn to him like flies on shit. The problem is, he doesn’t yet know his role in my narrative, but he will fall in line.
They always do.

I say that because hello wait until you meet Dallas. He is a mystery upon himself that you are going to try and solve the entire read. “My first KC book and to say I’m impressed is an understatement. It packs the emotional punch and takes you along with these characters from 0 to 100 within the first chapter. I’m an obsessional reader. If I get trapped in the book, I don’t come up for air until I finish it. This delicious gem was so much more than I thought it would be. Writing genius!!! LITTLE DOVE is beyond what I could explain without giving anything away and I don’t want to do that. It’s a must read for sure!!”

This book hooked me from the Prologue, and I couldn’t read fast enough to reach the end. Everything else on my to-do list fell by the wayside. The way this talented author handled the plot and characters made me know I was in the hands of a master storyteller. She writes with the beauty and intensity of A.L. Jackson or Winter Willows, yet in a voice all her own. I highly recommend KC Decker and Little Dove.
I love when I get the chance to read amazing books. Let me tell you this Little Dove is beyond amazing. I love how different this is from others I’ve read in the past. That right there makes for a book that I would come out and say is a MUST READ. Yes you have a little bit dark and twisty with this one. You also will get an amazing mystery too. I say that because hello wait until you meet Dallas. He is a mystery upon himself that you are going to try and solve the entire read. I really loved his soft side along with that little mysterious broody ways. He may have a few secrets that will come out eventually. I started with him just because he needs to be mentioned and he eventually becomes a huge part of Little Dove. The main focus is though on Etta. Strong, courageous, a fighter, a survivor are just a few ways I would describe Etta. As you read Little Dove you will see why I would describe her in that way. She is the kind of character that will pull at your heart and make you tear up a little with everything so goes through. Etta is one to stay will you for awhile. She carries around a few secrets and doesn’t let her past scars rule her life too much. She uses her new found ability to take down the evil that surrounds. The bound that Dallas and Etta form is everything. They make so much sense as a couple as you read. Dallas may fight the attraction for Etta from the start but you really understand why once you get the whole picture. Once he gave into Etta you knew there was no way he could give her up. The love that forms is beautiful and so heartwarming through everything. I love every moment of Little Dove. It is dark, yet hauntingly beautiful that will pull you in from the start. I for one couldn’t put this one down and can honestly say is one of my favorite reads for 2018. You must pick this one up.
WOW – just – WOW
This is one of those reads that, if you can, read it in one sitting –
It was like watching a movie – I could not imagine pausing it and then picking up where I left off the next day – it would not have had the same emotional punch to it
Let’s start with our lead female – Etta – absolutely freaking loved her – strong, witty, snarky as h@ll and about as damaged as a tin can in a train wreck – I loved her
Then there is Dallas – hot damn did he lite my panties ablaze!
Arrogant – rude – built like a brick wall-perfect man in a can (or room)
And did I mention that he might just possibly have a hidden mushy side?
Little Dove literally held me from the opening scene – drug me in and kept me under – like a funhouse – one minute you are laughing and looking for the next adventure and the next you are facing bouts of angry tears and terrified to turn the corner
Raw – Emotional
This had so many emotional triggers, and “OH h-ell no” moments mixed in with some of the sweetest and most endearing scenes-
It is hard to put into words but it definitely will have your emotions running the gauntlet
Now I did have a problem with a couple scenes that truly needed more background – I am one of those readers I want the whys and the hows
Also, the end needed a bit of work – felt a bit rushed – I would have been okay with another 50-100 pages – just saying
Also, I would love to read the stories for some of the secondary characters – they play important roles even if you do not realize it while reading
I originally received a complimentary copy but after reading it I had to own it
Good Read, BUT
After reading reviews and the prologue (and holy shit what a prologue), I was sure this was going to be an exciting gritty, dark, twisted and emotional read. But unfortunately somewhere during the story the connection was lost. The author did a good job narrating Etta’s story, but it didn’t have the emotional impact I thought it would after reading.
It’s an interesting story-line traversing Etta’s growth throughout the book to the moment she finally acknowledges her bad choices about men in her past and how that has a direct correlation with her present. You’ll want to judge and slut-shame her, but you shouldn’t. I didn’t like Etta very much, but found her ‘gift’ fascinating. Other than sympathy for her past, the author didn’t give me a reason to. Would have loved more interaction and background with her snarky and quirky friends. Perhaps the author has plans for a sequel?
There was some serious chemistry between Etta and Dallas once she engages with him, but the transition from lust to like to love was not a smooth one, and I failed to make a real connection. Only a couple of loose strings with regards to
**spoiler**
never getting a back story on her abuser and serial killer Ottis or why he referred to her as ‘Little Dove’. Overall a good read that you may enjoy about a rape victim who is determined to live her best life and not let a monster win.
