Gripping & Intense Awesomeness! Fabulous Narration
Little Bird
Advantage Play Series, Book Three
By: Kelsie Rae
Narrated by: Kelsey Navarro, Aaron Shedlock
Kelsie Rae delivers another awesome novel in her “Advantage Play” series, a series I am loving. This book grabbed my attention right from the start and captivated it straight to the end. It can be enjoyed on it’s own, though I highly recommend reading and/or listening to the first two books, “Wild Card” and “Dark King”. Not only are they amazing stories but they will give you more insight of the secondary characters plus a little background on the two lead characters of this book, Dex and his Little Bird, Regina. Dex is not a good man, at least that is what he tells himself, he is the bastard son of a mob boss who was left to fend for himself when he was a young boy. Burlone, another mob boss took him in and he became on of his most loyal soldiers. Burlone is pure evil, he has his hands in dirty dealings, including human trade. Dex is usually his enforcer and never gets involved in his other dealings, but he gets assigned to protect Burlone’s latest merchandise, watching over captive woman who will be eventually sold. He takes particular interest in one of the women, whom he named Little Bird. Regina grew up very protected, her father and then her older brother kept her away from their mob business, hid her from their world. But she started getting antsy and wanted out, she slips her protection and winds up getting captured, she will be a pawn in a power play between two mob bosses, her brother and Burlone. Dex took a liking to her immediately and the two wind up forming a bond and when he finds out who she is and what his boss has plans he starts to question himself and his loyalty. You get to see that Dex is not as bad as a person as he thinks, his conscience and his comes in to play and I loved seeing that. I also loved how everything plays out in this book, the story is cleverly plotted and there is plenty of drama, angst, twists and turns, thrilling suspense, heartfelt and emotional moments and a hot romance which turns out to be a forbidden one which almost broke my heart. Like I said cleverly plotted. I can not give enough praise to this series and this book. Kelsie Rae, thank you for this awesome story and the emotional rollercoaster ride. I am looking forward to what comes next in this amazing series.
I listened to the Audible edition, Kelsey Navarro and Aaron Shedlock are awesome narrators and versatile voice artists. Kelsie Rae could not have chose a better cast to bring her characters and story to life. They continue to do an amazing job portraying each character, humanizing them, capturing their personalities as well as all of their emotions and projecting them into their performance. They perfect each role they take on and make it their own. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another awesome listen
Little Bird
Advantage Play Series, Book Three
By: Kelsie Rae
Narrated by: Kelsey Navarro, Aaron Shedlock
I love this series! Kelsie Rae has the perfect mix of romance and suspense. She is original and keeps my interest piqued with this slightly dark, incredibly passionate story. Dex has one job. Watch over Regina. She is not only the daughter of the enemy, but will command a high price. So he does watch, and as he gets to know who she really is and her heart, it’s impossible for him not to fall. He won’t let anyone near her. But once free, will they still be together? This is a story that takes place partly during the Dark King. Now that Dex has been redeemed and moves to the Roman family, there is still a lot to prove. And he certainly isn’t worthy of the family princess. But Regina has a mind of her own. Give this one a listen. You will love the chemistry and passion, the danger and atrocities, and the family ethics that are put to the test. It’s an alluring story that I had to listen to all at once to see where it would all lead. I am loving the series and can’t wait til Rae puts more on audio.
Kelsey Navarro and Aaron Shedlock continue their narration of the Advantage Play series. These two play off of each other in the dual narration with voices that are perfect for the characters. There is just enough creepiness in some, stubbornness and perseverance in others and the passion is off the charts. I love this team, they true storytellers and bring this series to life.

This is book 3 in the series and is superb! It’s Regina and Dex’s story and it’s an enemies to lovers story that is beautifully written.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Regina & Dex… these two were everything. Poor Regina she was known as spoiled princess but she was everything but that. She then is kidnapped where she meets Dex. Can he help her or will he be another that turns away.
This story was epic. These two, their story flowed beautifully. Such intense chemistry . Another hit for me!
what a fantastic read, brilliant characters and an excellent storyline. Kept me turning the pages cannot wait to read more!.
Regina and Dex… OMG. This series, just keeps getting better and more enjoyably better.
Little Bird is sexy, dirty, dark and virtually mind blowing hot. Hello, capture me if that’s the case.
I’m so looking forward to seeing what could possibly be next.

Disclaimer:
I feel obligated to tell you that yes, this story can be read all on its own even though it is book 3 in this series. With that being said, you really need to read the first two books or you won’t know the key players. This is very important. This book also parallels what happened in the first two books. It sure filled in lots of blanks for me.
We meet Little Bird locked in a prison call. Awful! Poor Little Bird. If you have read the previous books you will know a little of what I’m referring to.
And that’s all I’m going to say. I keep thinking how to write this and I think less is more. I’m scared I’ll accidentally reveal something and ruin the story for you.
The element of surprise is a great feature in a well told story.
Read this one.
Scratch that.
Read this whole series.
Eeekkkk! Im still in love with this series! The mafia vibe is just what i need. I was so happy to find out that Dex and Regina were getting a book when we finished Dark King. Of course like any big brother Kingston didn’t make it easy on them. But i loved how fiercely protective Dex was of Regina. And how he showed his commitment to Kingston and Diece. Im super excited to see what the next book in this series brings. I could not get enough of this book.
After being entrapped with the first two books in the series, I was so excited to see what would happen with Regina. After being locked up for so long because of her family, this new lock up was much worse. She was lucky to have her dark knight there by here side. Seeing how it is playing out and want find out what’s next for this Romano family has me on the edge of my seat! Whatever happens next will surely be filled with drama!!
Little Bird was such a great book. I couldn’t put it down.
Part of the story is about the weeks Regina was in capture, the same timeline as in Dark King but through different POVs and without being repetitive. It was very well written.
I loved Regina and Dex together but it definitely was Dex who stole the show. He was loyal to Regina down to the last cell of his body. I rooted for them so much. After some new exciting twists and turns in this book I can’t wait to read the next one to find out what happens.

Boom!! Just when you thought you knew what might be going on, a bomb was dropped and everything exploded!
This story is filled with non-stop, hold on to the edge of your seat action and takes a big turn as we are whisked off on another wild ride filled with twists and turns within a place where loyalties are tested and the ugly truth is told.
Flame has picked up right where Spark left off with a web of players all so tightly entwined that it may only take one string to break for everything to unravel!
And there is more of this story still to come! I can’t wait!
*must read Wild Card and Dark King prior to Little Bird*
Some of this one coincides with things from Dark King but then continues on. It follows Dex as he meets Regina (GiGi) and tries to protect her from Burlone and his men. Once he finds out who she is he vows to protect her more and take down the scum of the earth at the same time. This is a mafia story with mafia themes and violence with a love story mingled in.
Little Bird by Kelsie Rae will have you on the edge of your seat from start to finish while taking your emotions for a hell of a ride! Dex and Regina are both trapped in impossible situations that will have your heart trying to beat right out of your chest. You will want to scream, cry or even hope someone gets murdered as all the air rushes out of your lungs as you try to catch your breath. Little bird is intense, provocative and dangerous but the love that consumes this couple is spellbinding.
Tracey, Life Reads With Friends
Kelsie Rae is a fantastic writer. She weaves a narrative that details a world a reader can almost feel. She draws a reader in with intriguing situations and actions that keep the reader turning page after page, regardless of the need for sleep. Now having said all that, Little Bird was not the greatest of Kelsie Rae’s work I have read. It still drew me in, I could see and feel the prison that Little Bird was trapped, I could feel the tension building as the situation went from bad to worse, but I just did not feel like her characters or their actions were true. Regina’s feelings for Dex felt unrelatable. He was her prison guard and she fell for him, but aside from protecting her, it didn’t build, just suddenly she loves him. That felt unrealistic. I understand that this is a work of fiction and in a world I don’t know (mafia bosses, sex trafficking, etc), but her feelings just seemed too Stockholm syndrome. Regina wasn’t particularly deep of a character, nor was Dex. As a reader, you get small glimpse at why they are the way they are, but it wasn’t enough to feel connected to the characters. The characters were 2 dimensional. Not even having been introduced to these characters in the previous two books in the Advantage Play books (which were amazing!) added dimension. Overall, I finished the book, I don’t regret reading it and if you have read the first two in the series (Wild Card and Dark King), Little Bird does continue the story and give you a view of how things played out in Dark King from a different perspective. I would not advise reading this as a standalone.
Little Bird kinda starts off in the middle of Dark King. This does need to be read with the series Wild Card, Dark King, then Little Bird
This is Little Bird and Dex. She has been kidnapped. Dexs job right now is to keep her as safe as he can with Sei around. She is terrified. He is furious.
It gives her POV and Dexs POV. The two have this instant attraction but also you can feel the chemistry between them both..
But what will happen when Dex learns who his Little Bird truly is?
Up until about 50% of the book it all takes place as the same time frame as Dark King. After 51% we get to experience this family from where Dark King ends. We learn who is who in the family.
Little Bird has been dismissed and her feelings for Dex has been dismissed as well.
Will Dex win and get to keep and protect his Little Bird? Will Dex defy orders from Kingston?
It was hard reviewing this one only because I don’t want to spoil any of the book but its 5 stars all the way
This book has so many WTF moments and the ending is cliffhanger that leaves you wanting more. But with that being said you DON’T want to wait to read this. Again be sure to read
1)”Wild Card” in the Advantage Play Series and 2) “Dark King” in the Advantage Play series before diving into 3)”Little Bird” in the Advantage Play Series
I love this series so much!
Little Bird was a fantastic addition!
Dex and Regina were great for each other. Their chemistry was amazing! Even though they meet under unusual circumstances Dex was going to protect her and figure a way out for both of them. There is plenty of action, suspense, drama and romance! The story pulled me in and kept me reading. I couldn’t put it down! Another fantastic book from Kelsie! I can’t wait for the next book in the Advantage Play series!
Addictive! Suspenseful! Amazing!
This series is such a departure from the sweet romances I’ve come to love from Rae, yet I love it just as much, maybe even more. A dark story with a twist of romance and a bunch of suspense makes for an amazing combination.
When Dark King (book 2 in the series) ended we were left wondering what exactly happened to Regina and Q while they were being held by their disgusting captors. We knew they made it out, but at what cost. And what exactly is going to happen with Regina moving forward….. will she still be hidden away by her brother to protect her or will she be able to have the one thing she wants, freedom and Dex?
Kelsie Rae answered all my questions and wrapped up their dramatic love story with a bang and left me hanging for another book. Now Q and D seem like they have quite the story to be told, and I want it now!
I enjoyed this one well enough but I didn’t like it as much as I liked the first two. This one was definitely harder to read. Much darker. It was worth reading though with the ending she gave us for Dex and Little Bird.

OMG – Regina and Dex’s story continues in this, the third installment of the Advantage Play Series. I love Regina’s haughtiness, even when she was scared; I loved that she found a ‘bad’ guy who gained her trust and she loved him wholeheartedly. I loved how Dex rose to the challenge to find a way to protect his woman, even when her safety put his life on the line.
Oh my gosh, another installment of this series that leaves me with all the feels, angst, desire, love, fear, anger (extreme anger at the sex trafficking and treatment of women) and yet Regina and Dex move forward in a positive way. This story leaves me on the edge of my seat, biting my nails, waiting for the conclusion. And the story is written so well, that you don’t even see the end of Little Bird coming. So, let’s be clear, Regina and Dex’s relationship gets worked out, but the whole sex trafficking and slavery is ongoing and I cannot (literally sitting on the edge of my seat) wait for the conclusion of this series.
This is the third book in the advantage play series. This is Dex and Reginas book.
It isn’t an easy journey for the two of them. There are some parts that made me a bit angry but necessary to the story.
The story starts about halfway through book 2 and we see if through a different point of view. So much happens in this book.
I’ve been reading Kelsie since Liv was released and I fell in love with that book and her writing.
I patiently wait for more books to come out, I know they are worth the wait.
She has proven she can write anything she puts her mind to.
