When we meet, he gives me a new name. Little Bird.

OMG! Another must read for this series! Ashley @ Carolina Chic’s Read
This series just got even better with Little Bird! Regina is faced with the unimaginable! Dex is the enemy or is he the savior? These two have HOT chemistry but how will it serve them! Can Dex help not only Regina but Kingston as well! I could not put this book down and I cannot wait for the next book! A definite must read!
Kelsie rae has started this freaking amazing series and yes this book could be read alone but honestly you REALLY should go read one and two before starting this one so you completely understand who the characters are and more of what’s going on in the Advantage Play Series! This books is so freaking good I couldn’t put it down. I love the chemistry between regina and dex, it was just breathtaking how amazingly good they are together. Kelsie you definitely know how to write some PERFECT romance mafia series. I can’t wait to see what you have in store for the next book.
An emotional story about a love so strong you would be willing to endure ANYTHING for it.
I voluntarily read an advanced copy.
I love how effortlessly Kelsie can transition from sweet and airy to dark and gritty! She has such an amazing gift with words. Little Bird was eye opening, heart wrenching and amazingly good!! I am not a big fan of mafia romances but the way she wrote this…I couldn’t help but become entranced! This was the perfect addition to her Advantage Play Series; it was set at the same time as Dark King but from a different perspective.
Regina had been kidnapped, stripped of her belongings and locked in a dark cell. She knew why she had been taken; but she was unsure of how the game would be played out.
Broken and alone, she found comfort in the one person she should be most afraid of. Would Dex prove to be her salvation or would she fall prey to his charming ways?
Holy smokes! I was on the edge of my seat the entire time, I cringed several times, but man, I can’t wait for more!
A Total Must Read! Elizabeth @ Carolina Chic’s Read
Regina is facing the fight of her life and she finds the only person wanting to help her to be Dex, but he’s the enemy… right? What happens when lines are blurred and hearts are tangled. This was seriously the best book that Kelsie Rae has written to date. A total must read!
5 Little Bird Stars!!
Freaking Fantastic!
“Little Bird” is an exciting tale with thrills and chills. This tale is well-written, with layers of emotion, drama, and suspense. I loved this tale and the emotional journey that Regina had to travel. Dex is a complex character and I found myself really liking him. This tale drew me in from page one and made me feel fully invested in the drama. I highly recommend this tale.
I received a free copy of this book. This review was posted voluntarily
Little Bird is the third book in the Advantage Play series by Kelsie Rae. You do not have to read them in order, in fact I have not actually read Wild Card and Dark King. At first I was hesitant about a book thats based on the mafia and human trafficking. This book is definitely a change for Kelsie Rae. I jumped right in not knowing if I was going to like this or not. I was totally shocked and surprised at how sucked in I became, thank you for that Kelsie. This book was hard to put down. The connection Dex had with Little Bird and the way he wanted to protect her even while doing his job melted my heart. I definitely want to go back and read the first two now. Warning….this book does have a cliffhanger. I have a love hate relationship with those!! I love how it ends and makes me want to quickly dive into the next book…but I hate waiting on the next book to come out. Overall, it was an excellent read and yet again Kelsie Rae has not disappointed!!!
I’m not quite sure what made this a full five star read, but I think it just hit all the right buttons for me. It was dark, with the H being a conflicted cold henchman for his utterly evil crime boss who dealt with perverted mind games, slavery, trafficking, rape, and murder. Dex was truly losing his humanity before he starts to regain his feeling after being assigned to protect his boss’s new fruit. His little bird is referred to “fruit” by the evil Burlone as he dehumanized all the women who he used for his purpose.
I loved seeing Dex’s feelings and purpose develop as he started to relate to his little bird. Lots of mafia type drama along with loyalty, betrayal, and retribution. The added depth of little bird’s true identity was also a treat as it unfolded a few mysteries about her abduction and subsequent treatment.
This sweet forbidden couple clung on to each other in a desperate furtive way that showed their deep feelings and chemistry towards each other that was intense and compelling.
I hate the proverbial cliffy, but this was one I could handle. Their HFN was satisfying albeit a bit painful for Dex, with a huge hook for the next book in this series.
All in all a well written Mafia drama with all the bells and whistles for me.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Ok so let me start by asking is there anything this author can’t write? I love her signature Sweetheart series which are amazing sweet, heartfelt and some rom com romances and then this series is the complete other end, all dark and brooding and hot and I’m here for it! I’m so happy that we got Dex and Regina’s story and I was not disappointed. I don’t want to spoil anything about this book but the drama and suspense! I simply cannot get enough and I need more!!
Kelsie Rae, who is known for her Signature Sweetheart Series, shocked us all in October with the release of the Advantage Play Series. The dark side of Kelsie’s personality has come out as she explores the life of the Romano mafia family and deals with the subject of human trafficking. This series is not meant for readers under the age of 18 due to adult content. Little Bird is a stand-alone book BUT you really need to go back and read Wild Card (book 1) and Dark King (book 2) in that order to really appreciate the storyline. Grab your tumbler of whiskey and box of tissues, come into my office, and let’s chat about Kelsie Rae’s Little Bird (read that sentence using your best Godfather voice).
Regina is the sheltered little sister of Kingston Romano. She was hidden away, protected, and only put on display when it was needed. Regina was born to be a pawn. Her future involved a marriage of convenience between families. Regina felt like she lived in a prison and snuck out every time that she had the chance. It was during one of her moments of freedom that her family’s worst nightmare became a reality. Regina was picked up on the street by one of Burlone’s men. She is about to be a pawn in a poker tournament and sold to the highest bidder.
Regina is perhaps one of the strongest female characters that I have seen in quite a while. Yes, she is young and makes the careless mistakes that immature women make. Don’t confuse immaturity with weakness. Keep in mind that Regina is the Princess of the Romano family. (Note: I do not own the rights to this song. Regina’s personal anthem should be “You Don’t Own Me” by Grace featured on the Suicide Squad soundtrack. https://youtu.be/8SeRU_ZPDkE. Let me know what you think after you read the book.)
Little Bird will make you mad. It will break your heart. It will give you hope. But most of all…it will show you that nothing can keep down a strong woman. It will also leave you hoping for more stories out of this wonderfully created set of characters. I can’t wait to see who’s story is next. With my whiskey tumbler and tissues in my hand, I give Little Bird 5 out of 5 propellers.

I have not read the other two books in the ADVANTAGE PLAY series YET and I wasn’t lost or didn’t understand the story. Regina and Dex spark catches you and you can’t help but be drawn to the flame that grows as you get deeper down the rabbit hole.
Kelsie certainly has a way of bringing each scene to bold mental detailing. It may be backwards but I will be adding the other books to MUST read list.
I received an ARC for an honest and voluntarily review.
