Mimi was hosting a wine testing art class in her antique store. She reveals to her friend she can move things with her mind with concentration. The evening goes well in part because the lady who is controlling did not show up. What happened after the class was not great though, she found the missing woman laying dead in the gutter just outside her shop. She can not help but wonder who did it.
This is a short delightful cozy mystery with interesting characters and small town feel. I enjoy the characters and their interactions. The characters are well crafted and a bit quirky. I enjoy the banter and flirtations between Mimi and the police chief and wonder if they will act on their chemistry over the next books in the series. The mystery was good with numerous suspects and twists. I am really looking forward to the next book to see how her powers are and if they continue to grow.

Miimi Knotley, owner of Surprises: Rare and Wonderful Antiques, and her friend, Sara Domico, also a local business owner, prepare for the monthly Art and Wine Class at Mimi’s shop. Bank president, Samantha Hamilton, arrives two hours early so she can pick the artwork for everyone for the night as she always does. Mimi sends her on her way telling her to come back when the class is ready to begin. Sara happened to see some of Mimi’s kinectic powers and asks her to show her more. She also wants to know when Mimi began this. Mimi feels it was after her accident when a dark stranger, Reneus Ulzor, arrives at her door.
When the dlass begins and Samantha doesn’t show up, everyone is happy that they don’t have to put up with her bossy attitude. As everhone leaves they find Samantha’s body outside Mimi’s shiop. A phone call to Chief Rob Thompson begins the investigation.
Since everyone in town seems to dislike Samantha, the list of suspects is many. Mimi wants to help but Rob doesn’t want her to for fear of getting hurt.
This is a quick read with wonderful characters. I received an advance copy. This is my honest review.

This book was quickly paced and it was over before I knew it. Mimi seems to be trying to understand her ability more but that’s still limited. Sara and Mimi have embraced the newest mystery and strive to solve it. Mimi’s opportunity to learn more about her ability had slipped through her hand. Hopefully the opportunity will arise again.

Mimi’s wine and art evening at her store should have been a fun affair and well it was as Samantha Hamilton wasn’t there to push her opinion and choices onto everyone else, alas that is due to her having been murdered. Mimi can not sit idle when she has the opportunity to try and find the killer along with letting her friend Sara in on what she has started to be able to do. There are plenty of suspects, red herrings, new neighbors to meet as well as mystery to keep you needing to know not only who the killer is but what else will Mimi end up being able to do!

A murder outside of Mimi’s shop/home sets her off on another investigation, much to the chagrin of the Chief. Oops, Rob to Mimi! I absolutely love her dog, Baxter, but, is he a dog or a cat in disguise?! I can’t wait to see how things go with Rob and Mimi in the next book!

I normally really enjoy Wendy’s cozy mysteries but this one moved a bit slow for my liking and had a hard time keeping my attention. There is suspense in the story with the murder and the story line does keep you guessing who did it. Not sure yet if I’ll read the next one in the series or not.

Mimi is getting ready for her wine and art class with her friend, Sara, when she has a confrontation with Samantha Hamilton. The woman is so exasperating, it’s not surprising the class is relieved when Samantha doesn’t show up. However, the reason will soon become apparent and Mimi will be surrounded by suspects. Listen To Your Art is a short, entertaining read that I enjoyed.

Listen to Your Art by Wendy Meadows is the second installment in the Witch of Wickrock Bay series. There’s humor, some light intrigue and suspense with just a touch of paranormal. The plot in this story is not as strong as other stories by Ms Meadows. There were lots of suspects and motives, but then the identity and arrest of the guilty person seemed a little soft, i.e., a bit of a let down.
Mimi is hosting the local Art & Wine event for interested ladies. This is an opportunity to practice their artistic side while enjoying a little wine and snacks, and having some fun.
When one of the ladies doesn’t show up at this month’s event, everyone seems relieved and happy, afterall she is always lording it over everyone. Then when leaving that night, they discover the missing lady’s body. Now Mimi is determined to figure out if one of her friends could do this and why.
This is a quick fun four-star read suitable for the rainy day. The budding romance between Rob, oops, Chief Thompson and Mimi seens to be moving forward.

In the second book of WITCH IN WICKROCK BAY Mimi is hosting an Art & Wine event, inviting interested ladies in town to practice their art and wine and snack at the same time. It is supposed to be a fun gathering, but when one of the “First Ladies” is found dead after the event, Mimi starts to investigate.
A nice cozy mystery, with a witch, who does not know she is a witch yet, and one who has a strong interest in the Chief of Police.
A nice, entertaining mix.
