THE NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER
In New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Kristen Proby’s brand new series, five best friends open a hot new restaurant, but one of them gets much more than she bargained for when a sexy former rock star walks through the doors—and into her heart.
Seduction is quickly becoming the hottest new restaurant in Portland, and Addison Wade is proud to claim 1/5 … Portland, and Addison Wade is proud to claim 1/5 of the credit. She’s determined to make it a success and can’t think of a better way to bring in new customers than live music. But when former rock star Jake Keller swaggers through the doors to apply for the weekend gig, she knows she’s in trouble. Addie instantly recognizes him—his posters were plastered all over her bedroom walls in high school—he’s all bad boy…exactly her type and exactly what she doesn’t need.
Jake Keller walked away from the limelight five years ago and yearns to return to what’s always driven him: the music. If he gets to work for a smart-mouthed, funny-as-hell bombshell, all the better. But talking Addie into giving him the job is far easier than persuading her that he wants more than a romp in her bed. Just when she begins to drop her walls, Jake’s past finally catches up with him.
Will Addie be torn apart once again or will Jake be able to convince her to drown out her doubts and listen to her heart?

No one writes with the heat and heart of Kristen Proby. I adore her!
This was such a great introduction to a new series- a series that portrays women as strong and independent- all centered around Seduction, the restaurant in Portland, Oregon that five women co-own.
This novel centers around Addison, a strong former model who is the front manager of the restaurant. She meets Jake Keller, a former popular singer, who falls for her. The two of them are so perfect together!!
Kristen Proby comes up with some wonderful story ideas, and does a phenomenal job of bringing them to life for us!
I absolutely LOVE Kristen Proby and her writing. Her books bring me such joy when I read them. She creates such relatable characters and her storylines are both captivating and heartwarming. She writes with such feeling and emotion you can’t help but get sucked in.
Listen To Me is no different. I loved this new take on a rockstar romance. I loved that the backdrop for this book was in a restaurant that is owned by 5 Best Friends. This book was fun and entertaining, but the best thing is, is that it isn’t overloaded with a lot of outside drama. The drama that is created, is created by the characters themselves because they carry some baggage from their pasts, that they don’t know how to let go. This story had me laughing, swooning, smiling and even yelling at times. But as the same with any Kristen Proby book, I ended it with a smile on my face 🙂
Listen To Me is the first book in Kristen’s new Fusion Series and I think she is off to an excellent start. I am so excited to read each of these ladies stories. This is a stand alone novel but each of the books will have interconnected characters. This story moved at a great pace and so did the love story between Addie and Jake. I also loved the epilogue in this book. Not only did she finish Addie and Jake’s story, she sets up the next book with a little bit of a teaser. I can’t wait for the next in this series!!!!
We meet Addison (Addie) and Jake in this story. Addie is the co-owner of a new restaurant called Seduction. It’s a restaurant she runs with her 4 other BFF’s. Addie is a strong willed woman and loves her job, but she is attracted to the wrong type of men. So when her heart is broken again, she decides that she is staying away from men, especially musicians. That is until she meets Jake Keller. Jake is a rock star, he was the front man for the band Hard Knox, but gave it all up 5 years earlier because of a tragic accident that he felt a lot of blame and guilt for. Jake is still in the music business, but now behind the scenes…or at least until he gets back on stage at an open mic night. After that night he knows he needs to keep performing on stage but loves the small venue, which lead him to Addie. She hires him as a weekend performer in their restaurant. From here we follow Jake and Addie on their journey to happiness. Will these two characters ever be able to let the past go and learn to love and trust someone new??? You’ll need to read this book to get that answer.
We also get to know Kat, Riley, Cami and Mia. These are all the best friends of Addie. I loved the bond that these ladies have. They prove that they have each others backs no matter what!! I also loved meeting Christina, Kevin, Tiffany, and Max. They are all the best friends of Jake. As the same with Addie’s friends, Jake’s friends are just as loyal and supportive. After reading this book, everyone is going to want friends like these characters.
So if you are a fan of Kristen’s you aren’t going to want to miss this new series and if Kristen is a new author to you, this is a great book to start off with. After reading this book you will be a fan of Kristen’s forever. Her writing is addicting 😉
A Very Enjoyable book from Kristen Proby.
This is actually the first story I have read from Kristen and it won’t be my last.
I think I am going to have to read the rest of this series as I want to know what happens to this group of girl Friends.
This is Addison’s romance, she has been hurt by boyfriends in her past, most of them are musicians and they always leave her or cheat. So after her last relationship ends she decides No more Musicians…..That is until Jake Keller comes into her life. A former Rockstar who now stays away from the spotlight,he auditions to play in Addison’s restaurant which she owns with her friends.
Jake has his own secrets in his past,he blames himself for things that were not in his control.
Sparks sure do fly between them, but it takes alot for Jake to convince Addison that he is not like the men in her past.
Will he be able to win her over or will Addison not be able to get over her past…or will his past guilt over a tragedy ruin the relationship anyway.
Its a great read and I relished every chapter it was a fantastic balance of sweet,Romantic and very sexy I was pleasantly entertained throughout.
I Highly recommend it
5 Stars.
I Love Kristen Proby
Even though every book is different, I know when I read a Kristen Proby book, I’m going to get a few things…strong, characters with smoking chemistry…a storyline that hooks you from the beginning and never lets you go…and a good ending… That’s pretty much all I need….and I’ve never been disappointed…but Kristen Proby gives me so much more…
Jake Keller was Jake Knox, former famous rock god….He’s got issues about performing and just being happy in general…Jake is sweet and sexy and all alpha….Addison Wade is one of five friends who own Seduction, a high end restaurant…Addie runs the front and hires Jake to perform on weekends….Jake is smitten, but she doesn’t trust musicians….Jake and Addie are electric together …And LISTEN TO ME is the first book to another good series by Kristen Proby….
This is my first Kristen Proby book (yeah, yeah, I’m WAY behind the curve) and I really liked it. It was sweet and allowed the reader time to see the emotional relationship develop right along with the sexual one (which is rare nowadays.) In spite or the really stupid decision by Jake that made no sense at all to me, this story filled my contemporary fix quite nicely.
Easy to read series that had a different plot in each story to keep your interest. Eager to continue to read each story…….
Jake and Addie, love them to pieces. Beautiful story of learning to trust in spite of. I listened to the song too, very nice!
A Knockout!
Wow…. Swoon-worthy for sure. Jake. What a great guy! And Addy is a woman after my own heart. Loved the friends and can’t wait to get to the next book. Great job Kristen!
I love the book was greatly written
I think it was one of the ones I didn’t like the language on. Could be wrong. Forgive me if so. But personally, I don’t like the f-bomb. If I see it Several times at beginning of book, I delete the book.
cute, quick read from a series. the author’s original “with me” series drew me to this.
I couldn’t love this book more if it was written about me! I loved Addison so much, she is my new favorite female mc! And my goodness where do I start with Jake? Absolute perfection! I’ve been eyeing this book for a while and have no idea why I waited so long purchase!
I have read books of Kristen Proby before ‘cuz I just love reading them; she’s really become one of my favourite authors to read. she knows how to write a story and just draw you in. this one’s no different. I really like this start of a new series. Loved the chemistry between Jake and Addie and how their relationship developed. Jake, a musician who his band just broken up but now working behind the scenes misses performing and meets Addie who owns a restaurant with her friends. She’s afraid to love and just feels that every time she lets her guard down, she gets hurt in the process. the men or even someone close to her always lets her down and just makes her depend only on herself. and her comes along Jake. Can he break down her walls? Can she make him whole again?
I loved the story and I could totally relate to Addie how she felt in some ways. when you get hurt so many times and being let down, how can you just not put up walls and rely on yourself in the end. but when love comes around, you just don’t have a choice sometimes to let go… I cannot wait to read the story of Cami in the next book that’ll come in out in this new series.
Let me just warn you that Kristen Proby is one of the very few authors who I wait and watch for every one of her books to release. So – that may make me a little biased. I have been reading her books since she first released Come Away With Me, and have NEVER been disappointed. Not once.
Listen To Me introduces us to a group of friends who have now gone into business together. Addie, Riley, Mia, Kat and Cami have opened a new restaurant called Seduction. While Listen To Me is Addie and Jake’s story, we get to meet all the girls along with a few other fun characters I expect to continue popping up as the series continues.
Here is one of my favorite things about Kristen Proby and her writing style: I want to hang out with her characters. I’m being really serious. I want to stalk them all and make them become my new best friends. She writes characters that are so charming and fun that when you are reading their dialog with each other, you just want to join in! Every time Addie and her girls met
up with each other in Listen To Me I wanted to be there with them and cheering them on and laughing with them.
Kristen also knows how to write us some swoony heroes, and that certainly includes Jake. I mean who doesn’t love a guy who writes songs and can sing?
Overall, I don’t expect anyone not to fall in love with Listen To Me!
This book is amazing and I couldn’t put it down. The characters I felt like were right in front of me as I read the book. The romance in this book happened slowly and it felt like a real romance rather then that of books that happened quickly. This book is easy to read with it smooth paced concept. It has original content as well. I highly recommend it.
I’d already read the latest book in this series. It’s like I started at the end. But I’d wanted to start this series from the moment I first saw the cover of this one. Jumping back into the series like this was fun, because I kind of was familiar with at least one of the characters, even though I feel like she said something at the beginning that didn’t match up with something I seem to remember her saying in her own book. You probably saw me mention above how much I love Sebastian York’s voice, and I did enjoy listening to it. However, I don’t feel like his voice fits that of a singer’s voice. Just my opinion, probably I’m wrong, but I was still okay listening to him. I liked the line about having an observation deck at a gym to enjoy the hotties. I can even think of one romance book cover model that I already enjoy the pictures he shares of himself working out. How do I get a ticket to his gym? And what dropped this to 4 stars for me was just that both of them pulled stupid reasons for fighting at the end. And that made me mad. I get it, I get it, drama needed, but still, it always annoys me to fall back on those. But before you get me wrong, I still really enjoyed it, and can’t wait to read more in the series. I’m especially looking forward to the book with Cami and Landon, Mia’s brother.
4.5 stars
Addison tends to pick worthless dirtbags to date. She’s a smart, successful restaurant owner with her four best friends but she can’t find one decent guy who puts her first. While looking for a music act for their restaurant Seduction, Addie finds Jake Keller-musician and former bad boy extraordinaire.
Jake walked away from his band and fame after an accident his best friend, Christina was involved in years ago. He wasn’t at fault but feels guilty nonetheless. Still writing and producing music, the urge to perform finally gets him in front of a mic..and puts Addison in his line of sight.
Jake and Addie have typical drama, nothing overly angsty, and it’s always interesting to see the different takes from close friends. The story has a few deep emotional moments, otherwise it’s a lighthearted look at finding love when you least expect it.
Proby always delivers great stories full of close friendships, smart and sassy heroines, and sexy (sometimes) bad boys and Listen to Me fits the bill wonderfully. It’s a perfect weekend read full of sarcasm, sexual tension, and great humor you don’t want to miss!
I have never been a huge fan of rockers. I don’t know why, but this book has changed my whole out look on this genre. For that I thank you! This book just touched me in so many ways I just can’t explain it all. I understand how hard it can be to trust someone when you have been burned so many times that it’s hard to just get over it. So I connected with Addison in a way I haven’t connected with any character in a long time. And poor Jake, he has a past that haunts him and he believes he can only hurt those he loves. Will their past tear them apart for good? You are going to have to read this one to find out!
Jake Keller walked away from the rock and roll world five years ago, and has no intentions of ever going back, that world changed him and was starting to make him a jaded man, so he gave it all up for a chance at a simpler, less public life. But being away from the music is starting to take it’s toll on him, he has always looked to the music to soothe him and keep him at peace, and not having it in his life now is reeking havoc on his system, so with a lot of encourage from his best friend, he goes to an open mic night to sing. It ends up being a very therapeutic and eye opening experience for him, just sitting on the stage with his guitar and singing brings him back to a place he’s been longing to rediscover for the last five years and now that he has found it again he knows there’s no way he can give it up again. So, when he learns that an up and coming restaurant is looking for a singer a few nights a week he jumps at the chance to audition, and thinks it’s the perfect way for him to find his way back to the music he has been missing. Walking into that restaurant not only gives him a chance at rediscovering the music he’s missed, but is also puts him on a path to finding love…
Opening Seduction was a dream come true for Addison Wade and her friends, and they couldn’t be happier with the success they have had thus far, but Addison is certain that they can improve on it by adding live music a couple nights a week. The idea of customers being able to listen to music while their dining seems like the perfect thing to lure more folks through their door and put them on the map as one of the best restaurants in the city, which means now they’ve got to find some talent. Her friends are on board with the idea, but are leaving it all up to her to find a singer, so she attends a open mic night, and gets the shock of her life when the rock god who use to be plastered all over her walls waltzes onto the stage. He seems different now though, like a simpler man, even has a different name…but he is just as gorgeous as he always was, and Addison would love nothing more than to have him in her restaurant, but she is certain they can’t afford him, so she keeps looking. She is certain she’ll never see him again, so she revels in the fleeting moments they shared and leaves it at that…until he walks through the door of Seduction and asks for a job…
Having been a while since my last book by Ms. Proby, I had forgotten just how much I enjoyed reading her stories, but barely paragraph into it and I was quickly reminded of the literary treat her books provide! From the moment Jake waltzed onto the page I found myself instantly smitten with him, and continued to fall hard for him with each sentence I read… you just don’t find characters quite like him too often. He was every bit an alpha, but underneath his protective exterior was a man with a gentle spirit, that had a heart of gold, and watching him fall for Addison was truly a beautiful thing to witness! The chemistry between them was undeniable, their relationship was intensely passionate, and filled with lots of steamy action that left me blushing more than a few times! I LOVED every minute of their story, and I can’t wait to dive into the next installment and get better acquainted with more of these remarkable characters!!
If you haven’t acquainted yourself with Ms. Proby’s books yet, I HIGHLY recommend you remedy that soon, because not only are you missing out on some truly exceptional stories, but also the opportunity to meet some truly extraordinary characters that are destined to leave a indelible mark on your heart!!
