A marriage of convenience has never been like this.
Just before her eighteenth birthday, the doctors tell Emily she has three months to live. Not much time to complete the bucket list she’s had since she was twelve. The first item is the hardest — “Get married” — so she turns to the only man she knows who can help.
Paul, a barely reformed bad boy, has inherited a fortune from his mother, but … his mother, but his life is defined by his conflicted relationship with his father — a white-collar, organized-crime boss who, thanks to Paul, is being brought up on federal charges. Without Emily’s testimony, his father might walk, so Paul agrees to her unconventional proposal. He’ll be her husband for her last three months.
They agree that she’ll testify against his father and he’ll help her complete her bucket list. It’s not supposed to be a true marriage. No consummation. No future. No love.
No love.
She’s supposed to die, after all, and love might not be enough.

This was one of my first books by this author after discovering her via her Claire Kent books. I loved it so much I instantly became a lifelong fan. Rereading this, I once more fell in love with these characters and was reminded why I became addicted to her writing.
Listed is at times a super angsty read as the story is dealing with the imminent death of the heroine. What isn’t apparent, via the blurb, is that it is also sweet and funny as well as hot and steamy. I absolutely adored both Emily and Paul. They are definitely two of my favorite characters.
Emily was fiercely independent despite being ill but never to the point of being stupid. How brave she was when confronting Paul with her proposition. I loved that she had such a free spirit and a kind heart even when life was literally being yanked away from her.
Paul was an interesting hero. He was struggling with his own issues and yet so protective of Emily even as he was fighting against his own feelings and desires. His slow fall into love was such a beautiful thing.
Above all the angst of this story it is a romance with all that that genre entails. The romance here is absolutely what made me fall in love with these characters, their story, and this author.
Love this author!
Generally, I like Noelle Adams books. This one; not so much. The premise is original and the story has some interesting parts. Overall, I got to a point where I couldn’t wait to finish the book. The main characters are immature. Okay, Emily is 18 and Paul is 23-24. In my jaded view, their circumstances would dictate more emotional maturity. If you like Noelle Adams writing, read ‘Listed’ and decide for yourself. If you have never read anything by this author, read one of her other books first.
A little too predictable and not real world believable.
This story is like Nicholas Sparks’ “A Walk to Remember” but with an HEA. The writing is wonderful and I loved the characters. My only criticism is the heroine’s fictional illness. It’s not based on any real life disease and its unrealistic aspects jarred me out of the story. For instance, it’s not known how she’s got it…and the hero is still willing to risk kissing and sex? That seems drastic when it’s fatal. Otherwise it was really good.
Kind of slow moving, no action.
one of her best books I have read many books by her and have enjoyed them all
Keep them coming
This book is one of my all time favorites!!!
There will be tears
Great story, rough though.
Tears are guaranteed.
Dying at barely18, trying to testify at a mob hearing, and enjoy what’s left of her life…those are the main things Emily is dealing with.
Paul for his own reasons helps her through.
I don’t do spoilers so I have to stop. Great read, very emotional.
